“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that a woman because of al-Khul‘ does not receive any benefit.’”

It is benefiting her after her waiting period ends. An affluent man or one who is not affluent, each must benefit according to their abilities. During the waiting period, however, why he should not benefit her when she is in her waiting period and hopes for him as well as he hopes for her that Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, as He wills, may make something happen for them?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘If a man is affluent he benefits his wife with servants and a not-so-affluent one benefits with wheat [and barley], raisins, clothes and dirham. Al-Hassan, ibn Ali (a.s.), benefited his wife with a slave-girl. He (a.s.), benefited all the women that he divorced.’”

“Al-Qa’im will appear after when twelve men will have agreed upon that they have seen him but they will be considered as liars.”

Nūḥ (AS) carried in the ark the eight pairs whic Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, mentioned: "Eight pairs—from the sheep, two; and from the goats, two; and from the camels, two; and from the cows, two." (6:143-144) From the sheep, there were two pairs: one was domesticated, raised by people, and the other was wild sheep that live in the mountains and whose hunting was made lawful for them. From the goats, two pairs: one was domesticated, raised by people, and the other was the wild gazelle that lives in the wilderness. From the camels, two pairs: the bakhātī (Bactrian camels) and the ʿirāb (Arabian camels). From the cows, two pairs: one domesticated by people, and the other was wild cows. Every kind of pure bird, whether wild or domesticated, was also carried, and then the earth was flooded.

I heard Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s) say: As if I can see this son, Abul Hasan, apprehended by Bani so and so [Bani Abbas] and is under their arrest for a long time. Then he is released and he holds the hand of a person from his progeny so that they may convey him to Mount Razawi.

Once I was with Abu Abdullah as-Sadiq (as) in his meeting and there were others. He said to us: “Beware of allusion!” He meant with the name of al-Qa’im. I noticed that he had intended other than me. He said to me: “O Abu Abdullah, beware of allusion! By Allah, he (al-Qa’im) will be hidden (by the will of Allah) for a period of time and he will be ignored until it will be said that he has died or perished or (it is unknown that) which valley he has followed. The believers will weep bitterly for him. There will be turning-over as a ship among the waves of the sea until no one will be saved except those, who has promised Allah sincerely, whom Allah has assisted with a mercy of Him and in whose hearts Allah has fixed faith. Twelve suspicious banners will be raised, none of which will be distinguished from the other.” (Al-Mufadhdhal said) I began to cry. He said to me: “What for are you crying?” I said: “May I die for you! How do I not cry whereas you say that twelve suspicious banners will be raised that none of them will be distinguished from the other?” He looked at an aperture in the house, from which the sun shined into the place of his meeting, and said: “Is this the sun that is shining?” I said: “Yes, it is.” He said: “By Allah, our matter (the imamate of al-Mahdi) is brighter than the sun.”

I asked Abu Abdillah, peace be upon him, about the saying of Allah, Exalted and Glorious is He: «except for the weakened ones from the men, women and children» (4:98) - the verse. He said: O Sulayman, among these weakened ones, there are those with a thicker neck than you. The weakened are a people who fast, pray and whose bellies and private organs are modest; they do not believe that the truth is with other than us. They hold onto the branches of the tree. For those, Allah might pardon them if they were to adhere to the branches. Moreover, if they were to not know those, then if Allah was to pardon them, it would be due to His mercy, and if He was to torment them, it would be due to their aberration from what He made them know.

“I asked Abu Abdullah as-Sadiq (as) about the saying of Allah (But they reject the hour, and We have prepared a burning fire for him who rejects the hour). He said: “Allah has divided the year into twelve months, the night into twelve hours, the day into twelve hours and He has chosen from us twelve inspired imams. Imam Ali (as) was an hour from among those hours.”

I have heard Abu Ja’far Muhammad bin Ali al-Baqir (as) saying: From among us there are twelve inspired ones.

“Al-Qa’im disappears twice. In one of them it will be said: He has perished or it is unknown which valley he has followed.”

“I heard al-Mufadhdhal bin Umar asking Abu Abdullah as-Sadiq (as): “Does Allah impose (upon people) to obey someone and then the divine revelation keeps that secret?” Abu Abdullah as-Sadiq (as) said: “Allah is more glorified, merciful and kinder to His people than to impose upon them obeying someone but the divine revelation keeps that secret day and night.” Then his son Abul Hasan Musa (as) appeared. Abu Abdullah as-Sadiq (as) said to al-Mufadhdhal: “Would you like to look at the keeper of Imam Ali’s book?” Al-Mufadhdhal said: “And is there anything else that makes me more delighted than this?!” Abu Abdullah as-Sadiq (as) said: “This is the keeper of Ali’s hidden book, about which Allah has said, ‘None shall touch it save the purified ones.’”

“I once asked one of the two Imam, (abu Ja’far or abu ‘Abd Allah), ‘Alayhim al-Salam, about a man for al-Tamattu‘ (advantageous) who cannot find an offering animal until the day for departure when he finds enough funds to buy a sheep, should he slaughter or fast? He (the Imam) said, ‘He must fast; the days for slaughtering have passed.’”

“One of the two Imam, (abu Ja’far or abu ‘Abd Allah), ‘Alayhim al-Salam, has said, ‘One who cannot find an offering and likes to fast the three days during the first ten days, it is not an offense for him to do so.”

“I asked Abu Ja’far al-Baqir (as): Are you al-Qa’im?” He said: “The messenger of Allah has begotten me. I am the one, who avenge the blood. Allah does whatever He wills.” I repeated my question. He said: “You have known where to go. Your man is the one with the big abdomen and with dandruff in his head. He is the son of the imams. May Allah have mercy upon so-and-so!”

“Al-Qa’im (as) has two marks; dandruff and a mole on his head and a mole between his two shoulders on the left side. Under the left shoulder there is a mole like the leaf of a myrtle tree.”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), was asked, ‘Where from are children required to assume the state of Ihram?’ He (the Imam) said, ’My father would make them to assume the state of Ihram from Fakhkh (name of a place).”’

“When al-Qa’im (as) rises, he will recite, “So I fled from you when I feared you, then my Lord granted me wisdom and made me of the messengers.” These traditions confirm the traditions saying: “…he has an aspect of Prophet Moses…he is afraid and lying in wait.”

"It is not appropriate for a man to divorce his wife and then reconcile with her when he has no need or intention for her, only to divorce her again. This is the harm (ḍirar) that Allah (swt), the Mighty and Majestic, has forbidden. However, if he divorces her and then reconciles with her with the sincere intention of keeping her, then it is permissible."

I asked Imam (as) about the divorce of a mentally impaired person whose intellect is diminished, whether it is permissible? Imam (as) replied: "No." I (narrator) also asked about a woman in the same condition, whether it is permissible to sell her property or manage her dowry? He replied: "No."

"Lian (the mutual curse between spouses) does not take place unless the man has consummated the marriage with his wife."
