“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), disliked one’s sleeping in a house which does not have a door or a curtain.’”

“False oaths are the reason behind ‘transfer of mercy’.” Upon being asked the meaning, Imam (a.s.) replied, “Transfer of mercy means spread of diseases.” Muhammad bin Yahya has narrated it as being heavy instead of being transferred.”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Perform al-Hajj repeatedly and al-‘Umrah assiduously (or after every nine days). This expels the burden of poverty and death in wickedness.’”

“Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), once said to me , ‘O ‘Isa, I love that Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Glorious, see you in one al-Hajj to another al-Hajj and you are getting ready for another al-Hajj.’”

“The Honorable the Exalted God’s words, ‘When they disregarded the warnings that had been given them,…’ apply to three groups of people: those who accepted this and also informed others - they were saved; those who accepted this but did not inform others - their faces were distorted; and those who did not accept this and ordered others not to accept - they were destroyed.”

‘There were of three types – A type who were with the commands and they commanded others, so they were Rescued; and a type who were with the commands but they did not command others, so they were metamorphosed as particles; and a type who were not with the command and did not command others, so they perished’.

Yahya ibn Abdullah ibn al-Hasan and I were with Abul Hasan, peace be upon him, and Yahya asked him: "May I be your ransom, they think that you have the knowledge of the unseen (Ilmul Ghaib)." He said: "Glory be to Allah! Place your hand over my head." When I did that, every hair in my head and on my body stood on its end. Then he said: "No, By Allah, it is nothing but what we have inherited from the Prophet (peace be upon him and his progeny)."

I was listening, said, ‘My father has narrated from the people of his family from their ancestors, Alayhim al-Salam, that he said to a certain one of them (ancestors), “In our location there is a place called Qazwin for keeping guard against the enemy called al-Daylam. Is Jihad or Ribat (guarding) obligatory?” He (the person of our ancestors) said, “You must not miss performing al-Hajj around this House.” He repeated the Hadith he had just said and the answer was again, “You must pay attention to this House to perform al-Hajj around it. Do you not agree that one of you stays home to spend on his family of his gains and wait for our cause to materialize? If he finds himself in such a day he is considered like those who were present with the prophet on the day of Badr. If he dies, while waiting for our cause to materialize, he is considered like one standing with the one from us, who will rise with divine authority, in his tent like this” - holding his two index fingers together - saying, “I do not say like this” - holding his index and middle fingers together -“because this one is taller than this.’” Abu al-Hassan al-Rida (a.s.), then said, ‘He had spoken the truth.’”

The Prophet (s) said: Allah revealed to Dawud: “O Dawud! Just as the Sun does not decrease for he who basks in it, likewise, My mercy does not decrease for he who enters into it. Just as evil omen does not harm he who does not see it, likewise, the disseminators of evil omen will not be saved from the calamity. Just as the closest people to Me on the Day of Resurrection will be the humble, likewise, the furthest people from Me on the Day of Resurrection will be the arrogant.”

The Messenger of Allah (s) said: He whose speech is the Quran and whose home is the mosque, Allah will build a house for him in Paradise.

The Messenger of Allah (s) said: The most beloved of my brothers to me is `Ali b. Abi Talib, and the most beloved of my uncles to me is Hamza.

The Messenger of Allah (s) said: The horses of conquerors will be in Paradise.

`Ali (as) said: Death is not given its proper due if one considers tomorrow to be his.

“I heard Abu Ja’far al-Baqir (as) saying: Every banner that is raised-or comes out-before the appearance of al-Qa’im (as) will be of an oppressive arrogant.”

Two blessings are taken for granted : Security and health.”

“Then he should repeat all the prayers he has prayed behind him,”

The Messenger of Allah (s) said: There are two classes of my Nation which, if they are rectified, my Nation is rectified, and if they are corrupted, then my Nation is corrupted: the rulers and the reciters.

“I once heard abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), saying, ‘I lick food from my fingers but I fear my servants’ seeing me and their thinking that I am greedy. That is not true. A people upon whom bounties were poured owned a very large canal. They bleached the wheat for bread for food and used it to wipe their children with it until the dumpsite became like a huge mountain. A virtuous man passed by and saw a woman wipe her child with it. He said to them, ‘Fie upon you, have fear of Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, and do not change the bounty you enjoy.’ She said, ‘Are you frightening us of hunger? As long as we have our great canal flowing we will not be afraid of hunger.’ It angered Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, and He made their canal to weaken, stopped the sky to rain on them and the earth to grow (anything ). He (the Imam) said, ‘They became needy of that dumpsite and divided it among them by means of balance.’”

Abū Ja’far (Imam Bāqir (a.s.)) said: The Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) said, “Those who want to hold onto the ‘firmest handhold’ (2:256) of Allāh, which He has mentioned in His Book, should love ‘Ali ibn Abī Ťālib, Ḥasan, and Ḥusain (a.s.), for verily Allāh loves them on top of His Throne.”

The Messenger of Allah (s) said: There is not a worshiper who is insulted while he is fasting who responds: “Surely, I am fasting. Peace be unto you” except that the Lord says: “My servant sought refuge from My servant by fasting. Save him from My Fire and bring him into My Paradise.”
