Hadith.3817 - Zurara narrated: "I said to Abu Abdullah (as): A man buys a slave along with his wealth. Imam (as) replied: 'There is no harm in it.' I asked: 'What if the wealth of the slave is greater than the price he was purchased for?' Imam (as) replied: 'There is no harm in it.'

"Indeed, Allah (swt), the Mighty and Majestic, only forbade usury so that acts of kindness would not disappear."

“Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), has said, ‘Whoever buys something and finds defect in it or injuries that does not get well which was not apparent to him (when buying) and he then does some changes in it after taking delivery then finds out about the defect or injury, he must approve the sale and ask for the refund of the cost of the defect or injury from the price of the item (he has paid).”’

“This is concerning my question before abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), about the case of a man who buys a slave-girl for a certain price, then sells her (on credit) and makes a profit before paying the owner. The owner comes and demands payment but he does not pay. The owner says to those who have bought her to pay him what the person selling the slave-girl owes him and the profit that he has made is for them. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not unlawful.’”

"There is no harm in Salam (advance payment) for goods if you describe their length and width, and for animals if you describe their age."

I asked him about a man who buys merchandise from another man and then leaves it with him, saying, "I will bring you its price." Imam (as) said: "If he brings the payment within three days, then the sale is valid; otherwise, there is no sale for him."

It is not unlawful to buy a plantation or greenery, then leave it, if you like, until the ears appear, then harvest, or if you like use it as animal feed as grass and it is not unlawful before ears appear, and when the ears appear then do not use it (ears) as animal feed because it is destroying.’”

“Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), has said, ‘It is permissible to exchange wheat with flour in equal measures and sawiq (mush) of wheat with mush and barley with wheat in equal measures, is not harmful.’”

"The most difficult property to protect is of the silent kind (gold and silver).’ I then asked, ‘What should one do about it?’ He (the Imam) replied, ‘One should keep them inside walls, a garden or a house.’"

“About the case of an assignment if the assignee says to the debtor, ‘I wave in your favor what you owe me because of the assignment, one of the two Imam 5 , (abu Ja’far or abu ‘Abd Allah), ‘Alayhim al- Salam, has said, ‘If the assignee waves it in favor of the debtor he (assignee) loses the right to ask the debtor for any payment; but if he (the assignee) does not wave it in favor of the debtor, he (assignee) has the right to ask the assignor for payment . 555 Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn Hadid from Jamil from Zurarah has narrated from a similar Hadith.

“Once I was sitting with abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), when a man came in with his son. Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), asked, ‘What kind of business does your son do?’ He replied, ‘He sells slaves.’ Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), said, ‘You must not buy what is defective physically or morally. When you buy a head, you must not show its price on balance; whatever head sees its price in the balance it does not succeed. When you buy a head change its name, feed it something sweet and when you become the owner give four dirham charity for it.’”

I asked Abu Ja'far Imam Muhammad ibn Ali Al-Baqir (as) about a man who purchased food specifically from a village. Imam (as) said: "There is no harm in that. If the food is delivered, it belongs to him. But if it is not delivered, then it remains a debt upon the seller."

I asked Abu Ja'far Imam Muhammad ibn Ali Al-Baqir (as) about a man who purchased straw from a threshing floor before it was threshed, each load of straw for a specified amount, and he took the straw and sold it before the grain was measured. Imam (as) said: "There is no harm in it."

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘One cannot buy or sell an abandoned child that is found.’”

“I once asked abu Ja‘far (a.s.), about the case of a man who purchases something from a man and leaves it with him saying, ‘I will come back with payment.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘If he comes back with payment within three days the transaction is valid, otherwise, it is not valid.’”

"Flour in exchange for wheat, and parched flour in exchange for regular flour, if it is equal in measure, there is no harm in it."

“This is regarding their question before one of the two Imam, (abu Ja’far or abu ‘Abd Allah), ‘Alayhim al-Salam, about buying the land of farmers of al-Kharaj land. He (the Imam) (a.s.), said, ‘On its coming (the time of the rise of al-Mahdiy with Divine Authority and Power) the land will be taken away or you pay what is due on it of al-Kharaj.’ ‘Ammar has said that he (the Imam) then turned to me and said, “You can buy it because your right on it is more than that of others.’””

“This is concerning my question before abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the case of a man who buys a slave and his assets. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not unlawful.’ I then asked, ‘What happens if the assets of the slave are more than what is paid to buy the slave?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not unlawful.’”

“I once asked abu Ja’far (a.s.), about the case of a man who buys a slave-girl from the market and makes her to give birth. Then a man comes with proof that she is his slave-girl who is not sold or given as gift to anyone. He (the Imam) said, ’He must return his slave-girl to him along with the benefits he has received from her.’ As if it means, it is the cost of the child.”

“About the case of a plantation which is sold when it is only grass, abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘It is not unlawful if he says, “I buy from you what comes out of this plantation.” If he buys it when it is only grass he can use it or if he likes he can wait (until harvest time).”’
