Hammad ibn 'Isa kept company with al-Ṣādiq (ʿa) and al-Kāẓim (ʿa) and was of الكوفة and died in 209 AH. Al-Fihrist, Jāmiʿ al-Ruwāt, Rijāl al-Najāshī and Rijāl al-Ṭūsī hold him reliable.

11. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from Hammad from al-Halabiy who has said the following
“About the case of a man who takes mortgage from another man, then it suffers loss or is lost. He (the Imam), Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘He can demand what is for him from the other party.”
11- عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ حَمَّادٍ عَنِ الْحَلَبِيِّ فِي الرَّجُلِ يَرْهَنُ عِنْدَ الرَّجُلِ رَهْناً فَيُصِيبُهُ شَيْ‏ءٌ أَوْ ضَاعَ قَالَ
يَرْجِعُ بِمَالِهِ عَلَيْهِ.

15. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn abu ‘ Umayr from Hammad from al-Halabiy who has said the following
“This is concerning my question before abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the case of a man who left his slave-girl as al-Rahn (security deposit) with a people if it was lawful for him to do sexual intercourse with her. He (the Imam) said, ‘Those who hold her as al-Rahn (security deposit) will bar him.’ I then asked, ‘What happens if he gets a chance? He (the Imam) said, ‘Yes, I do not see it to be unlawful for him.’”
15- عَلِيٌّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ حَمَّادٍ عَنِ الْحَلَبِيِّ قَالَ
سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) عَنْ رَجُلٍ رَهَنَ جَارِيَتَهُ عِنْدَ قَوْمٍ أَيَحِلُّ لَهُ أَنْ يَطَأَهَا قَالَ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ ارْتَهَنُوهَا يَحُولُونَ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ ذَلِكَ قُلْتُ أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ قَدَرَ عَلَيْهَا خَالِياً قَالَ نَعَمْ لا أَرَى هَذَا عَلَيْهِ حَرَاماً.

Hadith.4110 - Hammad narrated from Al-Halabi, from Abu Abdullah (as), regarding a man who pledged a security with another man, and the security was destroyed or lost. Imam (as) said
"He may reclaim his money from him."
4110 - وَ رَوَى حَمَّادٌ عَنِ اَلْحَلَبِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ : فِي اَلرَّجُلِ يَرْهَنُ عِنْدَ اَلرَّجُلِ اَلرَّهْنَ فَيُصِيبُهُ تَوًى أَوْ ضَاعَ قَالَ
