I asked him about a man who buys merchandise from another man and then leaves it with him, saying, "I will bring you its price." Imam (as) said: "If he brings the payment within three days, then the sale is valid; otherwise, there is no sale for him."

“I once was with abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), when a people from Sajistan came to him (the Imam) and asked about dirham with impurities. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not harmful if they currently are in circulation in a city.’”

I asked Abu Ja'far Imam Muhammad ibn Ali Al-Baqir (as) about a man who purchased food specifically from a village. Imam (as) said: "There is no harm in that. If the food is delivered, it belongs to him. But if it is not delivered, then it remains a debt upon the seller."

I asked Abu Ja'far Imam Muhammad ibn Ali Al-Baqir (as) about a man who purchased straw from a threshing floor before it was threshed, each load of straw for a specified amount, and he took the straw and sold it before the grain was measured. Imam (as) said: "There is no harm in it."

"Flour in exchange for wheat, and parched flour in exchange for regular flour, if it is equal in measure, there is no harm in it."

“One of the two Imam, (abu Ja’far or abu ‘Abd Allah), ‘Alayhim al-Salam, has said, The right of al- Shuf’ah (pre-emption) of an asset belongs to a business partner who has not yet departed partnership.’”

It is not harmful.’ ‘Can he appoint the second buyer as his agent to receive delivery?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not harmful.’”

“This is concerning my question before abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the case of a man who buys a slave and his assets. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not unlawful.’ I then asked, ‘What happens if the assets of the slave are more than what is paid to buy the slave?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not unlawful.’”

Hadith.3976 - Muhammad ibn Abi Umayr narrates from Jamil ibn Darraj, who said: I asked Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as) about a man who purchased a property. He used to enter and leave it, but after paying the price and inspecting the property, he returned and requested the seller to annul the sale, but the seller refused. Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as), said: "Even if he had examined and inspected ninety-nine parts of it, and one part remained unseen, he would still have the right of option (Khiyar al-Ru'yah) based on inspection."

"I asked Abu Abdullah (as) about a man who buys a slave, who does the wealth of the slave belong to?" Imam (as) replied: "If the seller knew that the slave had wealth, then it belongs to the buyer. However, if the seller was unaware, then it belongs to the seller."

“Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), has said, ‘When division takes place, al-Shuf ’ (one’s rights of pre- emption) ceases to apply.’”

“Abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Advance payment to receive goods at an appointed time in the future is lawful if the length and width are fully described.”’

“This is concerning my question before abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), about the case of a man who buys a slave who owns assets; to whom such assets belong? He (the Imam) said, Tf the seller knows that the slave owns assets then such assets belong to the buyer but if he does not know then they belong to the seller.’”

“About the case of a man who buys a slave-girl and makes her to give birth, then finds her to be stolen, abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Her owner takes the slave-girl and the man takes the child.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Advance payment to buy an animal is not unlawful if the age of animals is clearly described.’”

“This is concerning my question before Abu‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), about the case of a man who bought a skin sack of oil and found residue in it. He (the Imam) said, If he knew that the oil had such things in it, he cannot return; but if he did not know that the oil had such things in it he can return it to the owner.”’

"They did not pass a judgment; rather, they were discussing the matter. 'And We gave Solomon understanding of it" (Surah Al-Anbiya 21:79).

"If the merchandise remains in its original state, it should be returned to the seller, and the creditors have no right to dispute over it."

“Regarding my question before ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), about a house which is among the houses that have one driveway through a courtyard and one of them sells to a man, if the people sharing the driveway can apply their al-Shuf’ (one’s rights of pre-emption). He (the Imam) said, ‘If he has sold his house and has changed its driveway to another driveway then such right is not applicable; but if he has sold the house along with its driveway then they can apply such right.’”

"There is no harm in exchanging a camel for two camels or an animal for two animals, as long as it is done hand-to-hand." And Imam (as) said: "There is no harm in exchanging one garment for two garments, whether hand-to-hand or on credit, if you describe them."
