1. Amirul Momineen Ali Ibne Abi Talib (a.s.) says, “One who recites Surah Nisa every Friday would remain safe from the squeeze of the grave.”

1. Abu Baseer says that he heard Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) saying, “Masjid-e-Kufa is a real mosque for one thousand prophets and one thousand Wasis have offered Salaat in this mosque. During the time of Nuh (a.s.), water started coming out from this place and his Ark was built over here only. Its right side possesses the pleasure of Allah. Its middle has a garden of Paradise and its left has Makr.” He asked, “What do you mean by Makr?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “It implies the buildings of Shaitaan.”

As for the belief that Imam Hasan Askari (a.s) will come back to life after his demise and establish the divinely ordained government, arguing on the basis of the tradition from Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s), “He is named Qaim, because he will rise after his demise.” Their belief is wrong, because it is proved that he has passed away, and the claim that he will come back to life requires proof. If it is possible for them to say that the Waqifa might say that Musa Ibn Ja’far will come back to life after his death. Additionally, it follows that the era will be devoid of an Imam after the demise of Hasan until he comes back to life, which has been proved rationally invalid. The traditions, which assert that should the earth remain without an Imam for an hour, it would perish, invalidate this belief.

“When Allah, the Majestic, the Glorious, willed to create Adam He sent Jibril in the first hours of the Friday. He picked up with his right hand a handful. His hand had in its reach from the seventh heavens to the heaven above earth. From each of the heavens he picked up a handful. He also picked up another handful from the seventh earth of the above-most and to the farthest seventh earth. Allah, the Majestic, the Glorious, then commanded His word to hold the first handful in his right and the other in his left. The clay then was cleaved into two. It was scattered from earth and from the heavens and then said to the clay in his right hand, ‘From you will be the messengers, the prophets, their successors, the truthful ones, the believers, those who will achieve salvation and those whom I will to have honors.’ It then became necessary for them to be as He said them to be. He then said to that which was on his left, ‘From you will be the tyrants, the polytheists, the unbelievers, the devils and those whom I will to humiliate and be of the wicked ones.’ It then became necessary for them to become what He said them to become. Thereafter the two clays mixed together as Allah, the Majestic, the Glorious, has said, ‘Allah makes the seed and the nuts to cleave apart.’ (6:95) The seed is the clay of the believers upon which Allah has placed His love. The nuts are the clay of the unbelievers that are far from all good. It is called nuts (al- Nawa’) because it is far away from all good and from Him. Allah, the Majestic, the Glorious, has said, ‘He (Allah) brings forth the living from the dead and the dead from the living.’ (6:95) The living are the believers who come out from the unbelievers and the dead who come out of the living are the unbelievers who are from the believers. The living are the believers and the dead are the unbelievers. This is because of the words of Allah, ‘Are those whom We brought to life after their being dead . . .’ (6:122) Their death was the mixing of their clay with the clay of the unbelievers and his coming to life was when Allah, the Majestic, the Glorious, caused separation between them through His word. In this way Allah, the Majestic, the Glorious, takes the believers at birth out to light from darkness after their entering therein and He takes the unbelievers out of the light to darkness after their entering into the light as it is said in the words of Allah, the Majestic the Glorious, ‘So that he can give warning to those who are of the living and the word about the unbelievers truly come to pass.’” (36:70)

The Messenger of Allah (s) said: When blessings overcome a person, he is to say: “Praise be to Allah (alhamdulillah)”, and when poverty pressures him, he is to say: “There is no ability nor power except by Allah, the High, the Great (la hawla wala quwwata illa billah al-`ali al-`athim)”, for surely, it is a treasure from the treasures of Paradise. In it is a remedy for seventy-two maladies, the lowest of which is worry.

“I wish I was permitted to talk to people three times (about three things) and then Allah might do to me whatever He liked. But it is the will of Allah that we are to be patient and to wait.” Then he recited this Qur’anic verse: “And most certainly you will come to know about it after a time” and then he recited, “And you shall certainly hear from those who have been given the Book before you and from those who are polytheists much annoying talk; and if you are patient and guard (against evil), surely this is one of the affairs (which should be) determined upon).”

“If you see a great fire burning in the east for three days or seven days, then wait for the deliverance of Muhammad’s progeny inshallah. Allah is Mighty, Wise!” Then he said: “The cry will not occur except in the month of Ramadan because Ramadan is the month of Allah and the cry is the cry of Gabriel to the people.” Then he added: “A call will come from the Heaven with the name of al-Qa’im. It will be heard by everyone in the east and everyone in the west. The cry will make every sleeper awake, every stander sit and every sitter stand because of fright. Allah will have mercy upon whoever submits to the cry and obeys the caller because the first cry will be the cry of Gabriel (as)” Then he said: “The cry will be in the month of Ramadan, in a night of a Friday, which will be the twenty-third of the month. Do never doubt that. Listen and obey! At the end of the day there will be the voice of Iblis the cursed calling out: “So-and-so (Uthman) is killed unjustly” just to make people doubt and become confused. On that day much many people will doubt and become confused and then go to Hell. If you hear the call in Ramadan, do not doubt it. It will be the voice of Gabriel. The evidence is that he will call out the name of al-Qa’im and the name of his father. The call will be heard by everyone until the virgins in their veils instigate their fathers and brothers to rise (to join al-Qa’im). These two calls must occur before the appearance of al-Qa’im. One will be from the Heaven calling out the name of al-Qa’im and the name of his father. It will be the call of Gabriel. The other will be from the earth and it will be the call of Iblis calling out the name of someone claiming that he has been killed unjustly just to create sedition among people. Obey the first call and beware of being deceived by the second one!” He also said: “Al-Qa’im will not appear except after a great terror among people, earthquakes, seditions, calamities, plague, terrible killing among the Arabs, great disagreements among people, separation in the religion and bad living until one will wish to die in the morning or in the evening because of the oppression of people and their striving to eat each other. Al-Qa’im will disappear after the people will have become so desperate and hopeless to get any deliverance. How blessed is he, who lives until the appearance of al-Qa’im and becomes one of his assistants and woe unto whoever opposes him, objects to his orders and become one of his opponents.” He said: “When he (al-Qa’im) rises, he will rule with a new method, new principles, new Sunna and new judgements. He will be severe with the Arabs. He will kill great numbers of people without forgiving anyone and without caring for any blame because he will act according to the will of Allah.” He said: “If the people of the family of so-and-so disagree among themselves, then you wait for deliverance to come soon because your deliverance will not come except after their disagreement. If they disagree, then expect the cry in Ramadan and the appearance of al-Qa’im. Allah does what he wills! Al-Qa’im will not appear and you will not get what you look forward to unless those people disagree among themselves. If that occurs, people will seize the opportunity against them, separation will occur and then as-Sufyani will rise.” He said: “The family of so-and-so must rule. When they rule and disagree among themselves, their state will be separated and lost. Al-Khurasani and as-Syfyani will rise against them; this from the east and that from the west. They will compete towards Kufa as two racehorses until that family will be perished by them.” He said: “The risings of as-Sufyani, al-Yamani and al-Khurasani will be in the same year, in the same month and on the same day. They will be like the beads of a rosary; one following the other. Sufferings will be from every side. Miserable will be whoever resists them. From among the three banners, only the banner of al-Yamani will be a banner of guidance because he will invite to the mission of your man (al-Qa’im). When al-Yamani rises, he will forbid selling weapons for all of the people and for the Muslims as well. When al-Yamani rises, you are to join him because his banner will be a banner of guidance. It is not permissible for any Muslim to turn away from him and whoever does so, will be in Hell, because al-Yamani will invite to the truth and to the straight path.” He said: “The loss of the rule of the family of so-and-so will be like the breaking of pottery or like a man, who has a piece of pottery in his hand while he is walking. It falls from his hand while he is inattentive but immediately he becomes attentive to find that it is broken. So is the loss of their rule. They will be so inattentive when their state will be lost. One day Amirul Mo’mineen (as) said from on the minbar of Kufa: “Allah has determined that it is inevitable for the Umayyads to be killed by the sword openly and for the family of so-and-so to be defeated unexpectedly.” He said: “There must be grinding querns. When they (the querns) begin to turn around their axis, Allah will send a severe man, whose mention is obscure, against them. Victory will be always with him. His companions will be longhair and with long moustaches. Their cloths will be black and their banners will be black too. Woe unto whoever opposes them. They will kill their opponents excitedly. By Allah, as if I see them, their actions and what distresses the dissolute and the rude nomads will get from them! Allah will make them defeat those rude people with no mercy. They will kill them in their city at the shore of the Euphrates as a reward to what they have committed…and Allah is not in the least unjust to the servants!”

“I heard abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), saying, ‘The Masjid of Kufah is a very good Masjid. One thousand prophets and one thousand executors of the wills of the prophets have performed Salah (prayer) in it. The oven (of Noah) was there wherefrom water gushed forth and the Ark was carved there-from. Its right side houses the matters of the pleasure of Allah, its center houses a garden of the gardens of paradise and its left side lodges evil planners.’ I (the narrator) asked abu Basir, ‘What is meant by evil-planning?’ He replied, ‘It is a reference to the houses of the sultans (kings). ’Amir al- Mu’minin, would stand at the door of the Masjid then throw an arrow, which would reach the places of the sellers of dates and then say, “That is part of the Masjid.” He would also say, “What is reduced from the basis of the Masjid is like what is reduced from its square.’””

“Abu ‘Abd Allah, Alayhi al-Salam, has said that when Allah sent Adam, Alayhi al-Salam, down, he began to hold the leaves of the garden (paradises) to himself, and his clothes which were of the dresses of the garden (paradises) that he wore flew away from him. He picked up a leaf to cover his private parts. When he came down the perfume of that leaf trapped in India; the wind from the south blew and its perfume reached to the west. It carried the perfume of the leaf in the air. When the wind became stagnant in India, it adhered to its trees and their plants. The first animal that grazed on such a plant was a deer of musk and from that is musk in the bellybutton of the deer; the fragrance of the plant moved in her body and blood until it gathered in the bellybutton of the deer.’”

“Allah, the Most Holy is Whose name, the Most High is Whose praise, the Most Glorious are Whose attributes. He is the Most Sacred, the Most Holy, the only One in oneness. He is eternal, the First and the Last, the Manifest and the Hidden. There is no beginning for Him. He is the Most Exalted in His highness. The Highest in power, Exalted in authority, the greatest in kingdom, the Most bountiful, His Highness is the Most High. He is the One whose praise no one can complete, and can not bear the knowledge of His Lordship. No one is able to limit Him because it is not possible to reach Him with qualities.”

“One who recites Surah Waqiya every Friday eve, Allah would love him and create his love in the hearts of the people. He would keep that person away from misfortune, poverty, helplessness and calamities of the world. That person will be among the companions of Amirul Momineen (a.s.). This Surah is completely related to Amirul Momineen (a.s.) only and no one else.”

Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) said: If the water of the Euphrates (River) is the first thing that is given to a newborn baby and if the baby drinks it, he will be among those who love us because the Euphrates River is a believer.

“The man of this matter will have a house called the house of al-Hamd (the praise). It will have a lamp shining and without being put 0ut since his birthday until the day when he will rise with the sword.”

“While people are standing on Arafat, a rider on a quick she-camel will come to inform them of the death of a caliph, after whose death the deliverance of Muhammad’s progeny and the deliverance of all the people will come.” He also said: “When you see a sign in the sky; a great fire burning for some nights in the east, then deliverance will come. It will occur a little before the appearance of al-Qa’im (as).”

“Al-Qa’im does not appear until a caller from the Heaven will call out that everyone in the east and in the west will hear the call even the girls in their veils.”

“Every one of you is to prepare himself for the appearance of al-Qa’im even with one arrow because if Allah knows that one intends that sincerely, He may prolong his life that he may live until the appearance of al-Qa’im and then he becomes one of his assistants and supporters.”

“One who recites Surah Maidah every Thursday, his faith will never wear the clothes of injustice and he would never commit polytheism.”

Al-Sadiq Ja`far b. Muhammad (as) said: Whoever establishes the obligations of Allah, abstains from what Allah has prohibited, perfects his wilaya to the Ahl al-Bayt of the Prophet of Allah, and dissociates from the enemies of Allah will enter from whichever of the eight gates of Paradise that he wishes.

I heard Aba `Abdillah (as) say: Whoever withholds his harm from his neighbor, Allah will dismiss his offenses on the day of resurrection. Whoever is pure in his stomach and his private, he will be a joyous king in paradise. Whoever frees a believing soul, Allah builds a house for him in paradise.

`Isa b. Maryam (as) would say to his companions: O children of Adam! Run from this world to Allah, and take your hearts out of it, for surely, you will not fix it, nor will it fix you; you will not remain in it, nor will it remain for you. It is deception and grief. Conceited is he who is deceived by it, dismayed is he who is contented by it, and destroyed is he who loves it and wants it. Repent to your Maker, be conscious of your Lord, and fear a Day in which a father will not be rewarded on behalf of his son, nor will a son be rewarded on behalf of his father. Where are your fathers, where are your mothers, where are your brothers, where are your sisters, where are your children? They were called back [by your Lord] and were made to answer. They were placed in graves adjacent to the dead and joined the perished ones. They left this world and departed from their loved ones. They became in need of what was placed before them [in the Hereafter] and became needless of what they left behind [in this world]. So, how much exhortation and how much rebuke do you need while you are distracted and heedless?! Your like in this world is like that of the beasts – your concern is over your stomachs and your privates. Are you not ashamed before Him that created you? He has promised the Fire to those who disobey Him, and you are not capable of overpowering the Fire. He has promised Paradise and living in the Highest Heaven to those who obey Him. So, compete for it and be of its people. Be fair to yourselves. Be gracious to the weak and the needy among you. Repent sincerely to Allah. Be righteous servants, and do not be arrogant kings or haughty pharaohs who oppose Him who conquers them with death – He is the Mighty of the mighty, the Lord of the heavens and the Earths, God of the former and the latter peoples, the Master of the Day of Requital, the stern in reprisal, and the harsh in torment. No oppressor will be delivered from Him, nor does He miss anything, nor is anything left out with Him, nor is anything hidden from Him – His knowledge accounts for all things, and He will place it in Paradise or in the Fire. O weak child of Adam! Where will you run from Him who seeks you in the darkness of your night, and in the illumination of your day, and in every condition of yours? He who is exhorted becomes informed, and he who gives heed will succeed.
