أبان بن عثمان الاحمر البجلي

And whatever is narrated from Aṭaʾ ibn Al-Saʾib, I have narrated it from Al-Husayn ibn Ahmad ibn Idris - may Allah (swt) be pleased with him - from his father, from Muhammad ibn Abi Al-Ṣuhban, from Abu Ahmad Muhammad ibn Ziyad Al-Azdi, from Aban Al-Ahmar, from Aṭaʾ ibn Al-Saʾib.

513. Aban, from al-Fuhdayl Bin Yasaar, who has said: Abu Ja’far (a.s.) has said: ‘Uthman said to Al-Miqdad (RA), ‘By Allah (azwj), stop insulting me or I will return you to your First Lord (azwj)’. He said: ‘So when the death presented itself to Al-Miqdad (RA), he said to Ammar, ‘Tell Uthman about me that I have returned to my First Lord (azwj)'".

516. Aban, from a man, who said: Abu Abdullah (asws) has said that: ‘Maryam (as) carried (in her (as)) Isa (as) for nine hours, each hour for a month’.

565. Aban, from Abu Baseer, who said the following: Abu Abdullah (asws) has said: ‘Once the Rasool Allah (saww) was in the Masjid, when every high thing was lowered for him (saww) and every low thing was raised for him (saww), to the extent that he (saww) saw Ja’far (as) fighting the infidels. He (as) got killed. So the Messenger (saww) said: ‘Ja’far has been killed’, and a severe pain struck him (as) in his (saww) stomach’.

322. Abaan, from Ibn Abu Ya’four who said: Abu Abdullah (asws) said: ‘The one of adulterous birth should (also) perform deeds. If his deeds are good he would be Recompensated for it, and if his deeds are evil he would be Recompensed for it’.

323. Abaan, from Abdul Rahmaan Bin Abu Abdullah who said: I heard Abu Abdullah (asws) saying: ‘The Rasool Allah (saww) came out of his (saww) chamber, and Marwaan and his father were both trying to listen to his (saww) narration. So he (saww) said for him: ‘The lizard, son of a lizard!’ Abu Abdullah (asws) said: ‘From that time they are reporting that the lizard listens to the narrations’.

510. Aban, from Abu Baseer who said: I asked Abu Abdullah (as) about the statement of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic: “In houses which Allah has permitted to be exalted” [24:36], he said: ‘They are the houses of the Prophet (sw)’.

511. Aban, from Yahya Bin Abu Al-A’la who said: I heard Abu Abdullah (asws) saying: ‘The armour of the Rasool Allah (saww), Zat Al-Fuzoul had two rings of foil in front of it, and two rings of foil at the back of it’. And said; ‘Ali (asws) wore it on the Day of Al-Jamal’.

512. Aban, from Yaqoub Bin Shuayb, who has said: Abu Abdullah (asws) has said: ‘Ali (asws) tightened a glimmering belt around his (asws) abdomen on the Day of Al-Jamal which Jibraeel (as) had descended with from the sky, and the Rasool Allah (saww) used to wear it around his (saww) abdomen whenever he (saww) wore the armour’.

517. Aban, from Umar Bin Yazeed who said: I said to Abu Abdullah (asws) that: ‘Al-Mugheira (and his people) are alleging that this day is for the night that approaches it’. So he (asws) said: ‘They lie! This day today is for the night that has passed. The people of Al-Nakhla, when they see the crescent say, ‘The Sacred Month has entered’.

1. Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) said, “One who says a true thing and people follow it will also get the reward of people who performed that deed. One who says a false thing and people follow it, he too will get the punishment for the wrong deed performed by those people.”

1. Imam Ja’far Sadiq was asked, “What is the punishment of murder?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “Hell.”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘It is not lawful for one to sell with a Sa‘ which is not in use in a city. A man may hire a camel man and measures with a device of his home which perhaps is smaller than the mud (a certain measurement) of the market- place. If he says it is smaller than the mud of the market he does not accept unless he guarantees and takes responsibility thereof.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘There must be one mud. Taking responsibility also serves this purpose.’”

“I once said to abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), a young woman of our people has a wound in her vagina. She finds bleeding but does not know if it is because of Hayd (menses) or because of the wound and blood flows. He (the Imam) said, ‘Instruct her to lie down on her back, raise her legs and place her middle finger inside. If blood comes from the right side, it is because of Hayd (menses); if it comes from the left side, it is because of the wound.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Visit of a patient is complete when you place your hand on him when you meet him.’”

“Whoever recites verse 110 of Chapter 18 he will wake up at the hour he wants to wake up.”

‘Whenever the Rasool Allah (saww) descended from his (saww) she-camel Al-Qaswa, he (saww) would leave its reins upon it. It would go out and come to the Muslims. So this man would give it something, and that man would give it something. So it would not remain without (its hunger) is being satisfied. It entered its head in a tent of Samarat Bin Jundab, so he took hold of a stick and struck it upon its head. So he scratched it. So it went out to the Prophet (saww) and complained to him (saww)’.

‘I came up to Abu Ja’far (asws), so he (asws) said: ‘By Allah (azwj), O Kumeyt, if we (asws) had in our (asws) possession some wealth, we (asws) would have given you from it, but for you is what the Rasool (saww) Allah (azwj) said to Hassan Bin Sabit: ‘The Holy Spirit will not cease to be with you so long as you defend us (saww)’. I said, ‘Inform me about the two men (Abu Bakr and Umar)’. He (the narrator) said: ‘He (asws) took the pillow and folded it unto his (asws) chest’ and said: ‘By Allah (azwj), O Kumeyt, there is no blood spilled unlawfully, nor any wealth taken without right, and not stone turned from another stone except that it would be upon their necks’.

“Once, abu Ja‘far (a.s.), was asked about al-Mut‘ah (advantageous marriage). He (the Imam) said, ‘Al-Mut‘ah (advantageous marriage) today is not like it was before this day. Women in those days believed in it but today they do not believe in it and you can ask them.”’

“Abu Ja’far (a.s.) has said, ‘Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, forgave a man from the village by two words with which he pleaded before Allah. He said, O Lord, if You punish me, it is because I deserve it and if You forgive me it is worthy of You (Your greatness) and (for this) Allah granted him forgiveness.’”
