Hadith 973

1. It was narrated to me by Muhammad b. Musa b. al-Mutawakil who said it was narrated to me by Muhammad b. Yahya who said it was narrated to me by Sahl b. Ziyad al-Adami from Yahya b. al-Mubarik from Abdillah b. Jabalah from Muhammad b. al-Fudhayl from Abi al-Hassan Musa b. Ja’far (a.s.) who said
Surely (as for) those who love that scandal should circulate respecting those who believe, they shall have a grievous chastisement in this world and the hereafter.”44
حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُوسَی بْنِ الْمُتَوَکِّلِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ یَحْیَی قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی سَهْلُ بْنُ زِیَادٍ الْآدَمِیُّ عَنْ یَحْیَی بْنِ الْمُبَارَکِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَبَلَهَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْفُضَیْلِ عَنْ أَبِی الْحَسَنِ مُوسَی بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ ع قَالَ
قُلْتُ لَهُ جُعِلْتُ فِدَاکَ الرَّجُلُ مِنْ إِخْوَانِی بَلَغَنِی عَنْهُ الشَّیْ ءُ الَّذِی أَکْرَهُهُ فَأَسْأَلُهُ عَنْهُ فَیُنْکِرُ ذَلِکَ وَ قَدْ أَخْبَرَنِی عَنْهُ قَوْمٌ ثِقَاتٌ فَقَالَ لِی یَا مُحَمَّدُ کَذِّبْ سَمْعَکَ وَ بَصَرَکَ عَنْ أَخِیکَ وَ إِنْ شَهِدَ عِنْدَکَ خَمْسُونَ قَسَامَهً وَ قَالَ لَکَ قول [قَوْلًا] فَصَدِّقْهُ وَ کَذِّبْهُمْ وَ لَا تُذِیعَنَّ عَلَیْهِ شَیْئاً تَشِینُهُ بِهِ وَ تَهْدِمُ بِهِ مُرُوءَتَهُ فیکون [فَتَکُونَ] مِنَ الَّذِینَ قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ- الَّذِینَ یُحِبُّونَ أَنْ تَشِیعَ الْفاحِشَهُ فِی الَّذِینَ آمَنُوا لَهُمْ عَذابٌ أَلِیمٌ فِی الدُّنْیا وَ الْآخِرَهِ.
