The Prophet of God (a.s) said: “Whenever man commits a sin, a black spot will form on his heart which will not be removed unless he asks for God's forgiveness and repents. If he continues to commit sins, that black spot will continue to grow. This is the “stain” which God the Almighty mentions in the Quran: “By no means! But on their hearts is the stain of (ill) which they do!” [The Holy Quran: Tatfif 83:14]
