Hadith 598

2. Muḥammad ibn Ja’far Al-Qurashi Al-Razzāz narrated to me from Muḥammad ibn Ḥusain, from Muḥammad ibn Sinān, from Abī Sa’īd Al-Qammāť, from ‘Umar ibn Yazīd Bayyā’ Al-Sāburi, who said
Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) said: The land of the Ka’bah (once) said, “Who is like me, for Allāh has built His house on me, people from far distances come to me, and I have been chosen as Allāh’s Ḥaram and His safe sanctuary?” Allāh revealed to it: Stop speaking and calm down!!! I swear to My Glory and My Magnificence that your honour compared to the honour which I have granted to the land of Karbalā is like the amount of (a drop of) water on a needle that has been dipped in the sea. If it was not for the dust of Karbalā, I would not have honoured you. If it was not for that which is held within the land of Karbalā, I would not have created you nor would I have created the house about which you boasted. Therefore, settle down, calm down, and become humbled, lowly, humiliated, disgraced, and degraded in front of the land of Karbalā. Do not be proud nor arrogant in front of it or I will make you sink and throw you in the fires of Hell. The above Ḥadīth has also been narrated to me through the following chain: My father and ‘Ali ibn Ḥusain, from ‘Ali ibn Ibrāhīm ibn Hāshim, from his father, from Muḥammad ibn ‘Ali, from Abī Sa’īd ‘Abbād Al-‘Usfuri, from ‘Umar ibn Yazīd Bayyā’ Al-Sāburi, from Ja’far ibn Muḥammad (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)).
2 أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ قُولَوَيْهِ الْقُمِّيُّ الْفَقِيهُ (رحمه الله) قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي وَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ وَ جَمَاعَةُ مَشَايِخِي رَحِمَهُمُ اللَّهُ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي خَلَفٍ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْقَمَّاطِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي يَعْفُورٍ قَالَ
سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) يَقُولُ لِرَجُلٍ مِنْ مَوَالِيهِ يَا فُلَانُ أَ تَزُورُ قَبْرَ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ع قَالَ نَعَمْ إِنِّي أَزُورُهُ بَيْنَ ثَلَاثِ سِنِينَ أَوْ سَنَتَيْنِ مَرَّةً فَقَالَ لَهُ وَ هُوَ مُصْفَرُّ الْوَجْهِ أَمَا وَ اللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ لَوْ زُرْتَهُ لَكَانَ أَفْضَلَ لَكَ مِمَّا أَنْتَ فِيهِ- فَقَالَ لَهُ جُعِلْتُ فِدَاكَ أَ كُلُّ هَذَا الْفَضْلُ فَقَالَ نَعَمْ وَ اللَّهِ لَوْ أَنِّي حَدَّثْتُكُمْ بِفَضْلِ زِيَارَتِهِ وَ بِفَضْلِ قَبْرِهِ لَتَرَكْتُمُ الْحَجَّ رَأْساً وَ مَا حَجَّ مِنْكُمْ أَحَدٌ وَيْحَكَ أَ مَا تَعْلَمُ- أَنَّ اللَّهَ اتَّخَذَ [بِفَضْلِ قَبْرِهِ] كَرْبَلَاءَ حَرَماً آمِناً مُبَارَكاً قَبْلَ أَنْ يَتَّخِذَ مَكَّةَ حَرَماً قَالَ ابْنُ أَبِي يَعْفُورٍ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ قَدْ فَرَضَ اللَّهُ عَلَى النَّاسِ حِجَّ الْبَيْتِ وَ لَمْ يَذْكُرْ زِيَارَةَ قَبْرِ الْحُسَيْنِ (ع) فَقَالَ وَ إِنْ كَانَ كَذَلِكَ فَإِنَّ هَذَا شَيْءٌ جَعَلَهُ اللَّهُ هَكَذَا أَ مَا سَمِعْتَ قَوْلَ أَبِي أَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ (ع) حَيْثُ يَقُولُ إِنَّ بَاطِنَ الْقَدَمِ أَحَقُّ بِالْمَسْحِ مِنْ ظَاهِرِ الْقَدَمِ وَ لَكِنَّ اللَّهَ فَرَضَ هَذَا عَلَى الْعِبَادِ أَ وَ مَا عَلِمْتَ أَنَّ الْمَوْقِفَ لَوْ كَانَ فِي الْحَرَمِ كَانَ أَفْضَلَ لِأَجْلِ الْحَرَمِ وَ لَكِنَّ اللَّهَ صَنَعَ ذَلِكَ فِي غَيْرِ الْحَرَمِ
