Hadith 981
۞
2. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Muhammad ibn ’Isma‘il ibn Bazi‘ who has said the following
“I once asked abu al-Hassan, al-Rida’ (a.s.), about the utensils of gold and silver which he disliked and I then said, ‘It is narrated from certain persons of our people that abu al-Hassan (a.s.), had a mirror that had a silver covering.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘No, all praise belongs to Allah. It had only a ring of silver and it is with me.’ He then said, ‘When al- ‘Abbas was circumcised a stick with a silver covering was made for him like things that are made for children. It had about ten dirham of silver and abu al-Hassan, commanded to break it.’”
