Hadith 870

Al-Husayn b. Ibrahim b. Ahmad b. Hisham al-Mu’addab (ra) narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. Abi `Abdillah al-Kufi narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. Isma`il al-Barmaki narrated to us. He said: `Abdullah b. Ahmad narrated to us. He said
Sulayman b. Ja`far al-Ja`fari narrated to me. He said: I said to Abi’l Hasan Musa b. Ja`far (as): O son of the Messenger of Allah! What do you say regarding the Quran, for some of us have disagreed regarding it? One group says it is created, [another] group says it is not created. So, he (as) said: I do not say what they say, but rather I say that it is the word of Allah.

قلت لابي الحسن موسى بن جعفر (عليه السلام): يا بن رسول الله، ما تقول في القرآن، فقد اختلف فيه من قبلنا، فقال قوم: إنه مخلوق، وقال قوم: إنه غير مخلوق؟ فقال (عليه السلام): أما إني لا أقول في ذلك ما يقولون، ولكني أقول إنه كلام الله عزوجل (1).
