hadith 2723
Imam Ali (AS) said, Put cotton in your inkpot, keep the nib of your pen long, leave space between your lines and keep the letters close to each other, for this makes the writing more beautiful.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : اِلْقِ دَواتَكَ وَ أطِلْ جَلْفَةَ قَلَمِكَ وَ فَرِّقْ بَيْنَ سُطورِكَ وَ قَرْمِطْ بَينَ حُروفِكَ فإنَّ ذلِكَ أجْدَرُ بِصَباحَةِ الخَطِّ

Imam Ali (AS) said, Open the sharpened nib of your pen, thicken its point [so that it does not break easily] and cut the edge on the right side so that your handwriting becomes good.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : اِفْتَحْ بَرْيَةَ قَلَمِكَ وَ اسْمِكْ شَحْمَتَهُ وَ أيْمِنْ قِطَّتَكَ يَجُدْ خَطُّكَ
