hadith 3316
Imam Ali (AS) said, Neediness has been decreed for those from among the people of this world who seek to increase their wealth while those who get along without it have been assisted with comfort.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : حُكِمَ على مُكْثِري أهلِ الدُّنْيا بِالفاقَةِ وَ أُعِيْنَ مَنْ غَنِيَ عَنْها بِالرَّاحَةِ

Imam Ali (AS) said, Take from the little of this world that which suffices you and leave from its abundance that which makes you transgress.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : خُذْ مِنْ قَليلِ الدُّنيا ما يَكْفيكَ وَ دَعْ مِنْ كَثيرِها ما يُطْغيكَ

Imam Ali (AS) said, Every provision of this world is trivial for the contented and the chaste.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : كُلُّ مُؤَنِ الدُّنيا خَفيفَةٌ علَى القانِعِ وَ العَفيفِ

Imam Ali (AS) said, Whatever does not benefit, harms, and this world with its sweetness, becomes bitter whereas poverty with [seeking] sufficiency through Allah, never harms.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : كُلَّما لا يَنْفَعُ يَضُرُّ وَ الدُّنيا مَعَ حَلاوَتِها تَمُرُّ وَ الفَقْرُ مَعَ الغِنى بِاللّهِ لايَضُرُّ

Imam Ali (AS) said, One who is not content with the little [he has] of this world will not be satisfied with the much that he accumulates from it.

Imam Ali (AS) said, Do not be overjoyed by that which you obtain in this world and do not despair with sadness for that which eludes you from it.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : مانِلْتَ مِنْ دُنياكَ فَلا تُكْثِرْ بِهِ فَرَحاً وَ ما فاتَكَ مِنْها فلا تَأسَ عَلَيْهِ حُزْناً

hadith 3481
Imam Ali (AS) said, The wares of this world are [like] broken orts that cause epidemics, therefore keep off the grazing land which is more beneficial to migrate from than to peacefully stay in, and that of it which suffices for subsistence in it is purer [for the soul] than its riches.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : مَتاعُ الدُّنيا حُطامٌ مُوبِيٌ فَتَجَنَّبُوا مَرْعاةً قُلْعَتُها أحْظى مِنْ طُمَأنِينَتِها وَ بُلْغَتُها أزْكى مِنْ ثَرْوَتِها

Imam Ali (AS) said, Let not any of you pine the way a servant girl pines, for that which has departed from him of this world.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : لايَحِنَنَّ أحَدُكُمْ حَنينَ الأمَةِ على مازُوِيَ عَنْهُ مِنَ الدُّنيا

Imam Ali (AS) said, Little of this world is better than plenty of it, and that of it which suffices for subsistence in it is better than that which destroys.
