جعفر بن عثمان الرواسي: الكوفي: من أصحاب الصادق (عليه السلام)، رجال الشيخ (6). وقال الكشي في ترجمة حماد وأخويه (229 - 231): " حمدويه، قال: سمعت أشياخي، يذكرون أن حمادا، وجعفرا، والحسين، بني عثمان بن زياد الرواسي - وحماد يلقب بالناب - كلهم فاضلون، خيار، ثقات ". أقول: الرواسيون من بني كلاب، فإن رواس بن الحارث الذي ينسب إليه الرواسيون، ابن كلاب بن ربيعة، كما عن الأزهري. ويدل عليه أن أفلح بن حميد وصفه الشيخ بالرواسي الكلابي، كما تقدم في ترجمته.
