عبد الله بن محمد الجعفي: روى عن جابر بن يزيد الجعفي وهو ضعيف. ذكره النجاشي في ترجمة جابر. أقول: نسب الميرزا في الوسيط تضعيفه إلى الكشي أيضا، ولكنه سهو. وعده الشيخ في رجاله في أصحاب السجاد (30) والباقر (8)، والصادق (44) (عليهم السلام). وعده البرقي من أصحاب الباقر (عليه السلام). وطريق الصدوق إليه: أبوه، عن سعد بن عبد الله، عن محمد بن الحسين ابن أبي الخطاب، عن جعفر بن بشير، عن عبد الله بن محمد الجعفي. والطريق صحيح. قال المولى الوحيد البهبهاني: إن في رواية جعفر بن بشير عنه إشعارا بوثاقته. أقول: لو صح ذلك فهو لا يعارض تضعيف النجاشي صريحا، والله العالم. طبقته في الحديث وقع بهذا العنوان في إسناد جملة من الروايات تبلغ خمسة عشر موردا. فقد روى عن أبي جعفر وأبي عبد الله (عليهما السلام). وروى عنه آدم بن إسحاق، وصالح بن عقبة.
