Abu Abdullah Ja’far bin Muhammad as-Sadiq (as) said to me: “O Yahya bin Abdullah, he, who spent a night without knowing his imam, will die as an unbeliever.”

“When al-Qa’im (as) rises, the angels of Badr will descend. They are five thousand angels. A third of them will be on gray horses, a third on piebald horses and a third on red horses.”

“One who is inimical of we. Ahle Bayt (a.s.) is not a Nasibi because there is no such unfortunate person in this world who says that he is inimical and hateful to Muhammad and his progeny. Rather, Nasibi is one who has enmity with you because he knows that you love us and are our Shias.”

“Read the Holy Quran with Arabic accent and voice. You must not read it with the accent of the sinful people who commit major sins. After me there will come people who will read the Holy Quran like singing, lamentations and in the monkish manner, which does not pass even their throats toward their hearts that are upside down and so are the hearts of those who like them.”

“The Messenger of Allah has said, ‘On the Day of Judgment all the treacherous people will come with an Imam whose mouth will be badly deformed and end up in the fire.’”

1. Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) says that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.s.) said, “Recite Sub-h’aanallaahi wal h’amdu lillaahi wa laa ilaaha illallaahu wallaahu akbar often because this statement will come to you surrounded by angels and will be included among your good deeds.”

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about a man who performs sexual intercourse with his wife when both are fasting. He (the Imam) said, ‘If she dislikes it, then he is responsible for the expiation for two people. If she is consenting, then he owes one expiation and she owes one expiation. If he forces her, there is fifty lashes on him which is half of the complete punishment, and if she is consenting, there is twenty- five lashes on him and twenty- five on her.’”

Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) said: Those who go to (the Ziyārah of) the grave of Abī ‘Abdillāh (Imam Ḥusain (a.s.)) have connected with the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) and with us. It is unlawful to slander them and it is unlawful for Hell to touch their flesh. (Verily) Allāh will compensate them for every Dirham they spent (during their Ziyārah) with ten thousand cities which will be registered for them in a written book. Allāh will look after all of their needs and everything that they leave behind will be protected for them. They will not ask Allāh for anything without Allāh granting it either immediately or in the future. The above Ḥadīth has also been narrated to me through the following chain: Muḥammad ibn Hammām ibn Suhayl, from Ja’far ibn Muḥammad ibn Mālik, from Muḥammad ibn Ismā’īl, from ‘Abdillāh ibn Ḥammād, from ‘Abdillāh ibn ‘Abdil Raḥmān Al-Asam, from Mu’ādh, from Abān, from Abī ‘Abdillāh (a.s.).

“O Abul-Jarood, if the orbit turns and people say that he (al-Mahdi) has died, perished or followed an unknown valley and the opponents say that how he will be back whereas his bones have been perished, then you are to expect him and if you hear of his appearance, you are to join him even if crawling on the ice.”

“Even if all angels created by Almighty Allah, all prophets, truthful ones and martyrs try to intercede for an enemy of Ahle Bayt (a.s.) so that Allah, the Mighty and Sublime takes him out of Hell, Allah will never take him out of Hell. And Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, says in the Holy Quran, “Staying in it (Hell) for ever.”22

“Once I asked Abu Ja’far al-Baqir (as) about as-Sufyani and he said: “As-Sufyani does not rise until ash-Shaysabani rises before him. He (ash-Shaysabani) will rise from Kufa. He will flow like water. He will kill your delegation. After that you expect the rising of as-Sufyani and then al-Qa’im (as).”

A man came to Abī ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) and asked, “O son of the Messenger of Allāh! Should one go to the Ziyārah of your father (Ḥusain (a.s.))?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “Yes and establish prayers next to his grave. But one should not establish prayers in front of the grave, but rather, should stand behind it when establishing prayers.”

Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) said: When one of you holds the clay of the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.), you should recite (the following): O Allāh! I ask You through the right of the angel who picked it, and the Messenger who appointed it, and the Successor who is lying within it to make it the cure from every disease (and from this disease) – mention the name of the disease.

I heard Abā ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) say: The boundaries of the grave (the Ḥaram) of Ḥusain (a.s.) are twenty ells by twenty ells and this location is a garden from the gardens of Paradise. The ascent toward the heavens begins from here. Every high-ranked angel and prophet, who was chosen as a messenger, asks Allāh, the Exalted, (at all times) for permission to go to the Ziyārah of Ḥusain (a.s.). (There is always) a crowd descending (from the heavens to go to the Ziyārah of Ḥusain (a.s.)) and a crowd ascending (back).

“Amir al-Mu’minin (Ali ibn abu Talib) (a.s.) has said, ‘Our Shi’a (followers) spend for (the cause of) our Walayah (Divine Authority), love each other for the sake of our love, and visit each other to preserve our cause. They are those who do not commit injustice when angered, and are not excessive when they agree. They are blessings for the neighbors and peace for those who associate with them.’”

“As if I see your religion agitating in its blood and then no one will restore it as it has been before except a man from us Ahlul Bayt. He will give you two gifts a year and two livelihoods a month. You will be granted with wisdom at his time until a woman can judge with the Book of Allah and the Sunna of the Prophet (S) in her house.”

“I heard Ali (AS) saying: “It's as if I see non-Arabs setting up their pavilions in the mosque of Kufa and teaching people the Qur’an as it has been revealed!” I said: “O Amirul Mo’mineen, is the Qur’an not as it has been revealed?” He said: “No, it is not. The names of seventy ones of Quraysh have been removed from it. The name of Abu Lahab has been left (in the Qur’an) just to remind the Messenger of Allah (sw) of something because he is his uncle.”

“This matter, which you stretch your necks to, will not be until a caller from the Heaven calls: “So and so is the man of this matter so what is this fighting for?”

“Mansoor bin Hazim and Abu Ayyoob al-Khazzaz said to Abu Abdullah as-Sadiq (as) while I was present with them: “May Allah make us die for you! One does not know when death comes. Who is our imam after you?” He said: “If death comes, your man will be this.” He patted his son Musa, who was then five years old. Abdullah bin Ja’far was also present in the house on that day.”

“Once I went to Abu Abdullah as-Sadiq (as) and I saw his son Abul Hasan Musa, who was then three years old. There was a lamb with him. He said to the lamb: “Prostrate yourself before Allah, Who has created you.” He repeated that three times. A little boy said to him: “O my master, ask it to die!” Musa (as) said: “Woe unto you! Do I give life (to creatures) and make them die? It is Allah, Who gives life (to His creatures) and makes (them) die.”
