Hadith.5398 - Muhammad ibn Qays narrated from Abu Jafar Imam Muhammad ibn Ali Al-Baqir (as) who said
"The Commander of the Faithful (as) ruled that if the eye of a horse is gouged out, the compensation is a quarter of its value on the day its eye was gouged out."
5398 - وَ رَوَى مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ قَالَ
"قَضَى أَمِيرُ اَلْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ فِي عَيْنِ فَرَسٍ فُقِئَتْ بِرُبُعِ ثَمَنِهِ يَوْمَ فُقِئَتِ اَلْعَيْنُ".

Hadith.5684 - Asim ibn Humeid narrated from Muhammad ibn Qays, from Abu Jafar Imam Muhammad ibn Ali Al-Baqir (as), who said
"If a man kills his mother by mistake, he inherits from her. However, if he kills her intentionally, he does not inherit from her."
5684 - وَ رَوَى عَاصِمُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ قَالَ
"إِذَا قَتَلَ اَلرَّجُلُ أُمَّهُ خَطَأً وَرِثَهَا وَ إِنْ قَتَلَهَا عَمْداً لَمْ يَرِثْهَا".

Hadith.5727 - Asim ibn Humaid narrated from Muhammad ibn Qays who said
I heard Abu Jafar Imam Muhammad ibn Ali Al-Baqir (as) say: "A Jew and a Christian do not inherit from Muslims, but Muslims inherit from Jews and Christians."
5727 - وَ رَوَى عَاصِمُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ قَالَ
سَمِعْتُ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ يَقُولُ : "لاَ يَرِثُ اَلْيَهُودِيُّ وَ اَلنَّصْرَانِيُّ اَلْمُسْلِمِينَ وَ يَرِثُ اَلْمُسْلِمُونَ اَلْيَهُودِيَّ وَ اَلنَّصْرَانِيَّ ".

Hadith.3843 - Muhammad bin Qays narrated from Abu Ja'far Imam Muhammad ibn Ali Al-Baqir (as) who said that Commander of the Faithful (as) said
"Whoever guarantees a trader is entitled only to the principal amount and has no share in the profit."
3843 - وَ رَوَى مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ قَالَ
إِنَّ أَمِيرَ اَلْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ قَالَ : "مَنْ ضَمَّنَ تَاجِراً فَلَيْسَ لَهُ إِلاَّ رَأْسُ اَلْمَالِ وَ لَيْسَ لَهُ مِنَ اَلرِّبْحِ شَيْءٌ".

Hadith.4446 - Muhammad ibn Qays narrated from Abu Ja'far Imam Muhammad ibn Ali Al-Baqir (as) regarding a man who married a woman under the assumption that she was free, but then another man came forward and presented evidence proving that she was his slave, what is the ruling? Imam (as) said
"He (the rightful owner) takes her back and also takes the value of her child."
4446 - وَ رَوَى مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ
فِي رَجُلٍ تَزَوَّجَ جَارِيَةً عَلَى أَنَّهَا حُرَّةٌ ثُمَّ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ فَأَقَامَ اَلْبَيِّنَةَ عَلَى أَنَّهَا جَارِيَتُهُ قَالَ "يَأْخُذُهَا وَ يَأْخُذُ قِيمَةَ وَلَدِهَا".

2. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Muhammad ibn Ahmad from Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Yusuf ibn ‘Aqil from Muhammad ibn Qays from abu Ja’far (a.s.) who has said the following
“Abu Ja’far (a.s.) has said, ‘Entering paradise is prohibited to spies and gossip mongers.’”
2ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ يُوسُفَ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ
مُحَرَّمَةٌ الْجَنَّةُ عَلَى الْقَتَّاتِينَ الْمَشَّاءِينَ بِالنَّمِيمَةِ.

5. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn Faddal from Tha’Labah’ ibn Maymun from Muhammad ibn Qays from abu Ja’far (a.s.) who has said the following
“Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, loves offering the greeting of peace openly, loud and clearly.”
5ـ عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ فَضَّالٍ عَنْ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ
إِنَّ الله عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يُحِبُّ إِفْشَاءَ السَّلامِ.

6. Abu Ali al-Ash ‘ariy has narrated from Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Jabbar fn al-Hajjal from Th’alabah from Muhammad ibn Qays who has narrated the following
“I once asked abu Ja‘far (a.s.), about the case of a man who gives preference to certain ones of his children. He (the Imam) said, ‘Yes, he can do so, and his women.’”
6- أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الأشْعَرِيُّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ عَنِ الْحَجَّالِ عَنْ ثَعْلَبَةَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ قَالَ
سَأَلْتُ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يُفَضِّلُ بَعْضَ وُلْدِهِ عَلَى بَعْضٍ قَالَ نَعَمْ وَنِسَاءَهُ.

2. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from al-Hajjal from Tha‘labah ibn Maymun from Muhammad ibn Qays who has narrated the following
“I once asked abu Ja‘far (a.s.), about the testimony of a blind man if it is admissible. He (the Imam) said, ‘Yes, it is admissible if he has preserved it.’”
2- مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنِ الْحَجَّالِ عَنْ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ قَالَ
سَأَلْتُ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) عَنِ الأعْمَى تَجُوزُ شَهَادَتُهُ قَالَ نَعَمْ إِذَا أَثْبَتَ.

Hadith.5444 - It is narrated from Abdullah ibn Muhammad Al-Hajjal from Thaʿlabah ibn Maymun from Muhammad ibn Qays, who said
I asked Abu Jafar Imam Muhammad ibn Ali Al-Baqir (as) about a man who gives preference to some of his children over others. Imam (as) replied: "Yes, and he may also favor some of his wives (over other wives)."
5444 - وَ رُوِيَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ اَلْحَجَّالِ عَنْ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ قَالَ
سَأَلْتُ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ عَنِ اَلرَّجُلِ يُفَضِّلُ بَعْضَ وُلْدِهِ عَلَى بَعْضٍ قَالَ "نَعَمْ وَ نِسَاءَهُ".

5. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn abu Najran from ‘Asim ibn Humayd from Muhammad ibn Qays who has said the following
“Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), has said, ‘The sale of one grown up camel in exchange for ten fetuses of camel to be born is not valid.’”
5- عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجْرَانَ عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ حُمَيْدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام)
لا يَبِيعُ رَاحِلَةً عَاجِلا بِعَشَرَةِ مَلاقِيحَ مِنْ أَوْلادِ جَمَلٍ فِي قَابِلٍ.

Hadith.5536 - Asim ibn Humayd narrated from Muhammad ibn Qays, who said
I asked Imam (as) about a man who bequeathed a portion of his wealth - a third or a fourth - to another man. Then, the man (the testator) was mistakenly killed. Imam (as) said: "The will is to be executed from his wealth and from his blood money (diyyah)."
5536 - رَوَى عَاصِمُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ قَالَ
قُلْتُ لَهُ رَجُلٌ أَوْصَى لِرَجُلٍ بِوَصِيَّةٍ مِنْ مَالِهِ ثُلُثٍ أَوْ رُبُعٍ فَيُقْتَلُ اَلرَّجُلُ خَطَأً يَعْنِي اَلْمُوصِيَ فَقَالَ "تُجَازُ لِهَذَا اَلْوَصِيَّةُ مِنْ مَالِهِ وَ مِنْ دِيَتِهِ ".

hadith 275
Hadith.5245 - Muhammad ibn Qays narrated from Abu Jafar Imam Muhammad ibn Ali Al-Baqir (as) that
he said regarding a man who killed his mother: "If he killed her accidentally, he is entitled to a share of her inheritance. However, if he killed her intentionally, he does not inherit anything from her."
5245 - وَ رَوَى مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ
أَنَّهُ قَالَ: فِي رَجُلٍ قَتَلَ أُمَّهُ قَالَ "إِذَا كَانَ خَطَأً فَإِنَّ لَهُ نَصِيباً مِنْ مِيرَاثِهَا وَ إِنْ كَانَ قَتَلَهَا مُتَعَمِّداً فَلاَ يَرِثُ مِنْهَا شَيْئاً".

2. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn abu Najran from ‘Asem ibn Humayd from Muhammad ibn Qays who has narrated the following
“I once heard abu Ja‘far, Alayhi al-Salam, saying, ‘Jews and Christians cannot inherit from the Muslims but a Muslim can inherit from Jews and Christians.’”
2- عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجْرَانَ عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ حُمَيْدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ قَالَ
سَمِعْتُ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) يَقُولُ لا يَرِثُ الْيَهُودِيُّ وَلا النَّصْرَانِيُّ الْمُسْلِمَ وَيَرِثُ الْمُسْلِمُ الْيَهُودِيَّ وَالنَّصْرَانِيَّ.

hadith 405
1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn abu Najran from ‘Asem ibn Hamid from Muhammad ibn Qays who has said the following
“Abu Ja’far (a.s.), has said, ‘Waiting period of a pregnant divorcee expires at childbirth and he must pay for her maintenance in fairness until childbirth.’”
عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجْرَانَ عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ حُمَيْدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ
الْحَامِلُ أَجَلُهَا أَنْ تَضَعَ حَمْلَهَا وَ عَلَيْهِ نَفَقَتُهَا بِالْمَعْرُوفِ حَتَّى تَضَعَ حَمْلَهَا .

Hadith.3306 - And it was narrated by Muhammad bin Qais from Abu Ja'far Imam Muhammad ibn Ali Al-Baqir (as), who said that the
Commander of the Faithful, peace be upon him, used to say: "I do not act upon the statement of a fortune-teller, nor a tracker, nor a thief, and I do not accept the testimony of a transgressor except against himself."
3306 - وَ رَوَى مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ قَالَ
كَانَ أَمِيرُ اَلْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ يَقُولُ : "لاَ آخُذُ بِقَوْلِ عَرَّافٍ وَ لاَ قَائِفٍ وَ لاَ لِصٍّ، وَ لاَ أَقْبَلُ شَهَادَةَ اَلْفَاسِقِ إِلاَّ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ ".

2. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn abu Najran from ‘Asim ibn Hamid from m h ibn Qays, who has said the following
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that Amir al-Mu’minin (a.s.), has said, ‘One who consumes Riba’, one who feeds Riba ’ and one who documents it, are all the same (in committing this sins).”’

Hadith.5425 - Aṣim ibn Humayd narrated from Muhammad ibn Qays from Abu Jafar Imam Muhammad ibn Ali Al-Baqir (as), who said
"The Commander of the Faithful (as) ruled regarding a man who passed away and had bequeathed all of his wealth or most of it. Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) said: 'The will is to be adjusted to what is customary, and the rightful inheritance must be left for the heirs.'"
5425 - رَوَى عَاصِمُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ ع قَالَ
"قَضَى أَمِيرُ اَلْمُؤْمِنِينَ فِي رَجُلٍ تُوُفِّيَ وَ أَوْصَى بِمَالِهِ كُلِّهِ أَوْ بِأَكْثَرِهِ فَقَالَ "إِنَّ اَلْوَصِيَّةَ تُرَدُّ إِلَى اَلْمَعْرُوفِ وَ يُتْرَكُ لِأَهْلِ اَلْمِيرَاثِ مِيرَاثُهُمْ" ".
