الحسن بن علي

The Messenger of Allah (s) said: Whoever finds a crumb or a date and eats it, it will not leave his stomach until Allah forgives him.

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that whoever enters Makkah in a dignified manner his sins are forgiven. I (the narrator) then asked, ‘What is a dignified manner?’ He (the Imam) replied, ‘It is humbleness.’”

“I heard Ali ibn Musa Al-Ridha (s) say, ‘God will forgive the sins of whoever asks for forgiveness seventy times during the (Arabic) month of Ramadan even if his sins are as numerous as the stars.’”

“I once was performing Tawaf with abu Ja‘far (a.s.), and in every Tawaf on reaching al- Yemaniy corner he would touch it and say, ‘O Lord, forgive and turn to me so I repent and protect me so I will not repeat.’” NOTE:This Hadith is best explained through the Fatwas.

“A man came to Amir al-Mu’minin Ali, ibn abu Talib (a.s.), and said, ’O Amir al- Mu’minin, I am deprived of Salah (prayer) at night.’ Amir al-Mu’minin said, ‘Your sins have tied you down.’”

`Ali b. al-Husayn b. `Ali b. Faddal informed us from his father. He said: I heard `Ali b. Musa al-Rida (as) say: Whoever seeks the forgiveness of Allah seventy times in Sha`ban, Allah will forgive his sins, even if they were similar in number to the stars.

Whoever comes to the grave of al-Husayn (as), recognizing his right, Allah will forgive his past and future sins.

“The Messenger of Allah has said, ‘If four things are found in a person, even though he may be full of sins from his top to his toes, Allah will change his sins into good deeds. The four things are: truthfulness, bashfulness, excellence in moral behavior and gratefulness.’”

When I was taken up for the Ascension, I saw that a womb was hanging from God’s Throne and was complaining to God about another womb. I asked it, ‘How much is the distance between you and him?’ The womb replied, ‘We are related to each other in the fortieth father in our lineage.’”

During the time of the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, there were well-known prostitutes female and male. Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, has prohibited forming marriage contract with such men and women. Today people who become known as such or are convicted for fornication and punished (by the qualified court) are of the same status. No one must marry them unless it is known that they have repented.’”

I repent to God for the following three actions:1- Abu Bakr and I took the rule over the people from others;2- I forced the Caliph on the people;3- I ranked some people over others.’”

“O Prophet of God! How could that be so?” The Prophet (MGB) replied, “One who has committed adultery can repent and God would accept his repentance, but if one who has gossiped repents, God would not accept his repentance until the one he gossiped about forgives him.”

Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) said – as part of a longer Ḥadīth: And when you (decide to) return from the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.), a caller will call out to you. If you (could) hear that call, you would stay next to the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.) for the rest of your life. The caller will say, “Bliss be for you, O slave (of Allāh)! Surely you have won and you are safe. Surely your past sins have been forgiven. Therefore, continue with good deeds.”

When a person intends to do a good deed, a good deed is recorded for him. Once he engages in doing that good deed, ten good deeds are recorded for him. Once a person intends to do an evil deed, nothing is recorded for him. If he acts upon an evil deed he has nine hours. If he gets sorry, asks for forgiveness and repents within nine hours, nothing will be recorded for him. However, if he doesn’t get sorry and doesn’t repent within nine hours, then one evil deed is recorded for him.”

“I heard Abal-Hassan Ali ibn Musa al-Ridha (MGB) say, ‘Whoever fasts on one day of the month of Sha’aban to gain the reward of the Honorable the Exalted God will go to Paradise. Whoever asks for God’s forgiveness seventy times on every day of the month of Sha’aban would be resurrected amongst the nation of God’s Prophet (MGB) on the Resurrection Day, and his being honored becomes certain by God. Whoever gives charity during the month of Sha’aban, even if it be as little as half a date, God will make forbid the Fire from burning his body. Whoever fasts for three days during the month of Sha’ban and continues on fasting into the month of Ramazan, God will record the reward of fasting for two consecutive months.”

I asked Ali ibn Musa Al-Ridha (s) about the night of the middle of Sha’ban. The Imam (s) said, “It is the night to get released from the Fire. On that night major sins will be forgiven.” I said, “Are there any additional prayers for that night?” The Imam (s) said, “It does not have any especial prayers. However, if you like to do a recommendable act on that nightyou can say the Ja’far ibn Abi Talib’s Prayer and mention the Honorable the Exalted God, ask for forgiveness and supplicate a lot. My father (s) said, ‘Supplications are accepted (fulfilled) on that night.’ I said, “The people say that that night is the night of ‘Sekak.“ The Imam (s) said, “That is the Night of Power (‘Qadr) in the (Arabic) month of Ramadan.”

I said to Abi `Abdillah al-Sadiq (as): What was the supplication of Yusuf (as) in the pit, for we have disagreed regarding it. So, he said: When Yusuf (as) was in the pit and despairing life, he said: “O Allah! If the mistakes and sins have covered my face for You, and if You do not grant my supplication after I have raised my voice [in prayer] to You, then I ask you by the right of Ya`qub, the elderly man. Have mercy on his weakness, and bring us together, for You know of his tenderness towards me and my longing for him.” Then, Abu `Abdillah al-Sadiq (as) wept. Then, he said: I say: “O Allah! If errors and sins have changed my face with You, then do not raise a voice from me to You. Surely, I ask You by You, for there is nothing like You; and I turn to You through Muhammad Your Prophet, the Prophet of Mercy. O Allah, O Allah, O Allah, O Allah, O Allah (Allahumma in kanit al-khataya wal dhunub qad akhlaqat wajhi `indika fa lan tarfa` li ilayk sawtan, fa inni as’aluka bik, fa laysa ka mithlika shay’, wa atawajjahu ilayka bi Muhammad nabiyyika, nabi al-rahma. Ya Allah, ya Allah, ya Allah, ya Allah, ya Allah)!” He said: Then, Abu `Abdillah (as) said: Say this, and increase in it, for surely, I say it frequently at great calamities.
