علي بن الحسين الموسوي، يكنى أبا القاسم، الملقب بالمرتضى، ذي المجدين علم الهدي أدام الله تعالى أيامه، أكثر أهل زمانه أدبا وفضلا، متكلم فقيه جامع للعلوم كلها مد الله في عمره، يروي عن التلعكبري والحسين بن علي بن بابويه وغيرهم من شيوخنا، له تصانيف كثيره ذكرنا بعضها في الفهرست، وسمعنا منه أكثر كتبه وقرأناها عليه.
