محمد بن أحمد بن حمدان القلانسي

Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) asked me, “Do you go to the Ziyārah of Ḥusain (a.s.) by ship?” I replied, “Yes.” Imam (a.s.) said, “Do you not know that if it drowns, a caller will call out to you, ‘Be delighted and enjoy the pleasures of Paradise.”

Prophet (s) said: The love for my household and me will help in seven situations whose horrors are enormous: at death, in the grave, in the Resurrection, in the Recorded Account, in the Judgment, in the Balance, and on the Path.

Love for me and my Household would be beneficial on seven occasions: time of death; in the grave; at the time of Resurrection; at the time of receiving one’s Record of Deeds; at the time of Reckoning; at the time of examining the good and bad deeds; and at the time of crossing the Bridge .”

Indeed, I have leaving among you Two Things, one of them is longer than the other: The Book of Allah, Exalted and Glorious is He, a Rope extended from Heaven to earth, one side in the Hand of Allah; and my Family. Alas, they are, indeed, never to be separated until they approach me at the basin. Then I said to Abu Sa’eed: Who are his Family? He said: His Household.

I heard the Messenger of Allah (s) say: What can the reward of one who has been blessed with monotheism be other than Paradise?

The Messenger of Allah (s) said: Whoever recites, after the Friday prayer, the Fatiha once, qul huwallahu ahad seven times, the Fatiha once, qul a`uthu bi rabb al-falaq seven times, the Fatiha once, and qul a`uthu bi rabb al-nas seven times will not be afflicted with a calamity or a temptation until the next Friday. If he says: “O Allah! Make me from the people of Paradise, which is filled with blessing and is built by angels, with our Prophet Muhammad (s), and our father Ibrahim (as). (Allahumma ja`alni min ahl al-jannati lati hushuha baraka wa `ammaraha mala’ika ma` nabiyyina Muhammadan salla llahu `alayhi wa aalih wa abina Ibrahim `alayhis salam)”, Allah will make him among Muhammad and Ibrahim in the Abode of Peace – may the blessings of Allah be upon Muhammad and Ibrahim and their pure families.
