“Generosity is a tree rooted in Heaven with its branches hanging over the Earth. Whoever grabs one of those branches will climb up it to Heaven.”

“God the Almighty has established the angels as guards for plants on the Earth such as fruit trees and palm trees. There are no fruit trees or palm trees for which there is no appointed guardian angel when it is about to bear fruit. If there were no guardian angels with them to protect them, then the insects and the wild animals would destroy the tree. That is why the Prophet of God (a.s) has ordered his followers not to build a toilet under fruit or palm trees, since their appointed guarding angels reside there. He also said that the fruit or palm trees that have produced fruits are respectable like the people, because the angels are present there.”

His tribe is the best tribe and his lineal tree the best lineal tree whose branches are in good proportion and fruits hanging (in plenty). His birth-place was Mecca, and the place of his immigration Ṭaybah (Medina), from where his name rose high and his voice spread far and wide.

O Ali! God created you from the tree of which I am the root, and you are the trunk. Al-Hassan and Al-Husayn are its branches. Those who love us are the leafs. The Honorable the Exalted God will take to Paradise whoever grabs onto any of the branches!”

“What do I have to do with this world, and what does this world have to do with me? The story of me and the world is similar to that of a man who is riding on a hot day and reaches a tree. He takes a nap under the shade of the tree for a short while, and then goes on leaving the tree behind.”

From this tree a sound is heard the like of which is never heard, and those who fail to keep their souls clean of al-Ghina’ (music (and singing)) will not be able to hear it.’”

I asked Abu Abdullah (as) about a tree whose root is in the non-sacred area (hill) and its branches extend into the sacred area (Haram). Imam (as) replied: "The root is sanctified because of the branch's location." I then asked: "What if its root is in the Haram and its branch extends into the hill?" Imam (as) said: "The branch is sanctified because of the root's location."

“’Amir al-Mu’minin (a.s.), would perform Salah (prayer) toward the seventh pillar which is before al-Kindah door with a remaining distance of the size of a goat between him and that pillar.”
