3. Ibn Mahbub has narrated from ibn Ri’ab from abu ‘Ubaydah al-Hadhdha’ from abu Ja’far (a.s.) who has said the following
“It is of a believer’s obligations to provide good advice to another believer.”
3ـ ابْنُ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنِ ابْنِ رِئَابٍ عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ الْحَذَّاءِ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ
يَجِبُ لِلْمُؤْمِنِ عَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِ النَّصِيحَةُ.

436. Sahl Bin Ziyad, from Ibn Mahboub, from Ibn Ra’ab, from Humraan Bin Ayn, who has narrated the following
Abu Ja’far (asws) said in this “[2:257] and (as to) those who disbelieve, their guardians are the tyrants”. ‘الطَّوَاغِيتُ’ instead of ‘الطَّاغُوتُ’.
سَهْلُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ عَنِ ابْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنِ ابْنِ رِئَابٍ عَنْ حُمْرَانَ بْنِ أَعْيَنَ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ (عليه السلام)
وَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا أَوْلِيَاؤُهُمُ الطَّوَاغِيتُ.

442. From him, from Ahmad, from Ibn Mahboub, from Ibn Ra’ib, from Halby who said
I heard Abu Abdullah (asws) saying: ‘Dieting is not beneficial to the sick after seven days’.
عَنْهُ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ عَنِ ابْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنِ ابْنِ رِئَابٍ عَنِ الْحَلَبِيِّ قَالَ
سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (عليه السلام) يَقُولُ لَا تَنْفَعُ الْحِمْيَةُ لِمَرِيضٍ بَعْدَ سَبْعَةِ أَيَّامٍ.

3. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn Mahbub from ibn Ri’ab from Zurarah ibn ‘A‘yan who has said the following
“I once asked him (the Imam) (a.s.), ‘How many is lawful for al-Mut‘ah (advantageous marriage)?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘It is as many as you wish.’”
3- مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنِ ابْنِ رِئَابٍ عَنْ زُرَارَةَ بْنِ أَعْيَنَ قَالَ
قُلْتُ مَا يَحِلُّ مِنَ الْمُتْعَةِ قَالَ كَمْ شِئْتَ.

4. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Muhammad ibn al-Husayn from al-Hassan ibn Mahbub from ibn Ri’ab from abu ‘Abdallah (a.s.) who has said the following.
“No one will pronounce the exact name of the in charge of this task (Leadership with Divine Authority), except an unbeliever.”
4ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنِ ابْنِ رِئَابٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) قَالَ
صَاحِبُ هَذَا الامْرِ لا يُسَمِّيهِ بِاسْمِهِ إِلا كَافِرٌ.

Hadith.1878 - Muhammad ibn al-Faydh al-Taymi narrated from Ibn Ri'ab, who said
"I heard Abu Abdullah (as) forbidding the use of narcissus (nargis) for the fasting person. I asked: 'May I be your ransom, why?' Imam (as) replied: "Because it is the fragrant herb of the non-Arabs (al-A'jam)."
1878 - وَ رَوَى مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ اَلْفَيْضِ اَلتَّيْمِيُّ عَنِ اِبْنِ رِئَابٍ قَالَ
سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اَللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ : يَنْهَى عَنِ اَلنَّرْجِسِ لِلصَّائِمِ فَقُلْتُ جُعِلْتُ فِدَاكَ وَ لِمَ قَالَ «لِأَنَّهُ رَيْحَانُ اَلْأَعَاجِمِ».

1. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from ibn Mahbub from ibn Ri’ab from Misma’ who has said the following
“Abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘All of ‘Arafat is al-Mawqaf (the station) and the best of it is the foot of the hill.’”
1ـ عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنِ ابْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنِ ابْنِ رِئَابٍ عَنْ مِسْمَعٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم) قَالَ
عَرَفَاتٌ كُلُّهَا مَوْقِفٌ وَأَفْضَلُ الْمَوْقِفِ سَفْحُ الْجَبَلِ.

9ـ عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنِ ابْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنِ ابْنِ رِئَابٍ عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ
الْبَذَاءُ مِنَ الْجَفَاءِ وَالْجَفَاءُ فِي النَّارِ.

9. Ibn Mahbub has narrated from ibn Ri’ab from abu ‘Ubaydah who has narrated the following
“About the case of a man who dies and leaves behind his wife, sister and his grandfather, abu Ja‘far (a.s.), has said, ‘It is distributed from four parts. The woman receives one-fourth, the sister receives one share and the grandfather receives two shares.’”
9- ابْنُ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنِ ابْنِ رِئَابٍ عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام)
فِي رَجُلٍ مَاتَ وَتَرَكَ امْرَأَتَهُ وَأُخْتَهُ وَجَدَّهُ قَالَ هَذَا مِنْ أَرْبَعَةِ أَسْهُمٍ لِلْمَرْأَةِ الرُّبُعُ وَلِلأخْتِ سَهْمٌ وَلِلْجَدِّ سَهْمَانِ.

1. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from ibn Mahbub from ibn Ri’ab from Zurarah who has said the following
“I once asked abu Ja‘far (a.s.), about a man who in the state of ‘Itikaf engages in sexual intercourse with his wife. He (the Imam) said, ‘If he does it he is required to do what one is required to do because of Zihar’ (calling on oath the back of one’s wife as the back of one’s mother) that is, two consecutive months of fasting.’”
1ـ عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنِ ابْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنِ ابْنِ رِئَابٍ عَنْ زُرَارَةَ قَالَ
سَأَلْتُ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم) عَنِ الْمُعْتَكِفِ يُجَامِعُ أَهْلَهُ قَالَ إِذَا فَعَلَ فَعَلَيْهِ مَا عَلَى الْمُظَاهِرِ.

hadith 338
1. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from ibn Mahbub from ibn Ri’ab from abu Basir from who has said the following
“I once asked Abu Ja’far (a.s.), about the legal status of earning by means of cupping. He (the Imam) replied, There is no offense in the earning by such means, if it is not with an established pre-condition.’”
1- عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنِ ابْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنِ ابْنِ رِئَابٍ عَنْ أَبِي بَصِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) قَالَ
سَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ كَسْبِ الْحَجَّامِ فَقَالَ لا بَأْسَ بِهِ إِذَا لَمْ يُشَارِطْ.

10. Sahl ibn Ziyad has narrated from ibn Mahbub from ibn Ri’ab from al-Halabiy who has said the following: “About the case of a woman who dies and there is no other woman to give her Ghusl (bath), abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘
Her husband can reach out with his hand up to his elbow under her shirt to give her Ghusl (bath).”’
10ـ سَهْلُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ عَنِ ابْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنِ ابْنِ رِئَابٍ عَنِ الْحَلَبِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) فِي الْمَرْأَةِ إِذَا مَاتَتْ وَلَيْسَ مَعَهَا امْرَأَةٌ تُغَسِّلُهَا قَالَ
يُدْخِلُ زَوْجُهَا يَدَهُ تَحْتَ قَمِيصِهَا فَيُغَسِّلُهَا إِلَى الْمَرَافِقِ.

1. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn Mahbub from ibn Ri’ab who has said the following
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘It is not proper for a Muslim man to become a partner of al-Dhimmiy (non-Muslim tax payer) and not to give him goods for business, leave safe deposit with him and not to have pure friendly relationship with him.’”
1- عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنِ ابْنِ رِئَابٍ قَالَ
قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) لا يَنْبَغِي لِلرَّجُلِ الْمُسْلِمِ أَنْ يُشَارِكَ الذِّمِّيَّ وَلا يُبْضِعَهُ بِضَاعَةً وَلا يُودِعَهُ وَدِيعَةً وَلا يُصَافِيَهُ الْمَوَدَّةَ.

3. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn Mahbub from ibn Ri’ab who has said the following
“I heard Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) saying to abu Basir, ‘By Allah were I to find three believers among you who keep our Hadith concealed I would not have considered it lawful to conceal any Hadith from them.’”
3ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنِ ابْنِ رِئَابٍ قَالَ
سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) يَقُولُ لأبِي بَصِيرٍ أَمَا وَالله لَوْ أَنِّي أَجِدُ مِنْكُمْ ثَلاثَةَ مُؤْمِنِينَ يَكْتُمُونَ حَدِيثِي مَا اسْتَحْلَلْتُ أَنْ أَكْتُمَهُمْ حَدِيثاً.

15. It is a narration from him (narrator of previous Hadith) by Muhammad ibn al-Husayn from ibn Mahbub from ibn Ri’ab from al- Halabiy who has said the following
“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), ’Can one recite in Salah (prayer) with his clothes on his mouth? He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not harmful if his ears can hear his humming.’”
15ـ عَنْهُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ عَنِ ابْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنِ ابْنِ رِئَابٍ عَنِ الْحَلَبِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) قَالَ
سَأَلْتُهُ هَلْ يَقْرَأُ الرَّجُلُ فِي صَلاَتِهِ وَثَوْبُهُ عَلَى فِيهِ قَالَ لاَ بَأْسَ بِذَلِكَ إِذَا أَسْمَعَ أُذُنَيْهِ الْهَمْهَمَةَ.

10. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from ibn Mahbub from ibn Ri’ab from al-Halabiy who has said the following
“Once abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), was asked about a medicine which is made into dough with wine. He (the Imam) said, ‘I do not like to look at it or smell it; so why should I use it as medicine?”’

سُئِلَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) عَنْ دَوَاءٍ يُعْجَنُ بِخَمْرٍ فَقَالَ مَا أُحِبُّ أَنْ أَنْظُرَ إِلَيْهِ وَ لَا أَشَمَّهُ فَكَيْفَ أَتَدَاوَى بِهِ .

قَالَ رَسُولُ الله (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وآلِه) شَرُّ النَّاسِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ الَّذِينَ يُكْرَمُونَ اتِّقَاءَ شَرِّهِمْ.

4. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn Mahbub from ibn Ri’ab from abu ‘Ubaydah who has narrated the following
“About the case of a man who dies and leaves behind his wife, sister and grandfather, abu Ja‘far (a.s.), has said, ‘This is distributed from four parts, one-fourth for the woman, one share for the sister and two shares for the grandfather.’”

3. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad and Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father all from ibn Mahbub from ibn Ri’ab from Zurarah who has narrated the following
“This is about the case of a man who bequests one-third of his legacy to his paternal and maternal uncles. Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), has said, ‘The paternal uncle receive two-thirds and the maternal uncle receives one-third.’”
3- عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ جَمِيعاً عَنِ ابْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنِ ابْنِ رِئَابٍ عَنْ زُرَارَةَ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام)
فِي رَجُلٍ أَوْصَى بِثُلُثِ مَالِهِ فِي أَعْمَامِهِ وَأَخْوَالِهِ فَقَالَ لأعْمَامِهِ الثُّلُثَانِ وَلأخْوَالِهِ الثُّلُثُ.

4. Ali ibn Muhammad and Muhammad ibn al-Hassan has narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from ibn Mahbub from ibn Ri’ab from abu Basir who has said the following
“I once asked one of the two Imam, ‘Alayhim al-Salam, about a patient who faints and then gains consciousness, if he is required to perform his Salah (prayer) again. He (the Imam) said, ‘He is required to perform only those Salah (prayer) again for which there was still time after his gaining consciousness.’”
4ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنِ ابْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنِ ابْنِ رِئَابٍ عَنْ أَبِي بَصِيرٍ عَنْ أَحَدِهِمَا (عَلَيْهِما الْسَّلام) قَالَ
سَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ الْمَرِيضِ يُغْمَى عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ يُفِيقُ كَيْفَ يَقْضِي صَلاَتَهُ قَالَ يَقْضِي الصَّلاَةَ الَّتِي أَدْرَكَ وَقْتَهَا.
