The Righteous Servant [al-Kadhim] عليه السلام said: O Yunus - be more lenient towards them for your words are hard-hitting on them. I said: but they call me Zindiq! He said to me: What will it harm you if you have in your hands a pearl but the people say to you ‘it is a stone’, and what will it benefit you if you have in your hand a stone but the people say ‘it is a pearl’.

“Someone asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), while I was present, ‘What is the rule about a man who is in Salah (prayer) free of negative feelings but then he feels self-importance?’ Imam replied, ‘If in the beginning his intention was only for his Lord, then such feeling does not affect his prayer negatively, he should continue his Salah (prayer) and Satan is humiliated.’”

I heard a man from the Tayyara recounting for Abi al-Hasan al-Ridha عليه السلام that Yunus b. Dhabyan had said: I was making the Tawaf in one of the nights when I heard a call coming from above my head saying: ‘O Yunus - it is I who am Allah there is no god except Me - so worship Me and establish the prayer for my remembrance’ (20:14). I raised my head to look up and lo and behold it was “J” (alluding to Jibril). Abu al-Hasan عليه السلام became furious at hearing this, a fury such that he could barely control himself and said to the man: Get away from me may Allah curse you, may He curse the one who reported this to you, and may He curse Yunus b. Dhabyan a thousand curses followed by another thousand curses, each curse sufficient to expel you to a pit of Hell. I bear witness that no one called out to him except a Shaytan. Verily Yunus is together with Abi al-Khattab in the severest of punishments, bound together with their followers unto that Shaytan, together with Firaun and the people of Firaun in the severest of punishments. I heard this from my father عليه السلام Yunus [b. Abd al-Rahman] said: The man stood up to depart, he had not reached the door and made but ten steps when he fell unconscious, vomited out his excrement and was carried away dead. Abu al-Hasan عليه السلام said: An angel bearing a column came to him and struck him on the head such a blow that his bladder reversed [upside down] and he vomited excretion. Allah hastened his soul to the Hawiya and joined him with his fellow who informed him of this, with Yunus b. Dhabyan, and he saw the Shaytan who used to appear to him.

Hadith.838 - Yunus ibn Ya'qub said: "I saw Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as) leveling the pebbles at the place of his prostration between the two prostrations."

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘It is a saving to perform Salat (prayer) in complete form in the two al-Haram (the sacred places), (Masjid al-Haram and Masjid of al-Madinah).”’

“I saw abu al-Hassan (a.s.), after slaughtering his offering and shaving applied musk to his head and visited the House wearing a shirt and he (the Imam) was for al-Tamattu‘ (advantageous).” NOTE: Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ‘Isma‘il ibn Marrar from Yunus from abu Ayyub a similar Hadith.

“Once Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) said to me, ‘O Yunus, whoever hinders a believer’s rights, because of such hindrance, Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, on the Day of Judgment will make him stand up on his feet for five hundred years until his sweat or blood flow and an announcer will announce from Allah, ‘This unjust is the one who hindered the right of Allah.’ The Imam said, ‘He will be ridiculed for forty years and then will be ordered to the fire.’”

H 399 - It is mentioned in another report that: There is a similarity between Prophet Yunus (a.s) and Imam Mahdi (a.s); and it is that he would return from his occultation as a young man.

"I was with Abu Abdillah (AS) in Al-Hira during the days of his visit to Abu Ja'far on a clear, moonlit night. He looked up at the sky and said, 'O Yunus, do you not see how beautiful these stars are? Indeed, they are a source of security for the inhabitants of the heavens, and we are a source of security for the inhabitants of the earth.'
Then he said, 'O Yunus, instruct them to saddle the mule and the donkey.' When they were saddled, he asked, 'O Yunus, which one do you think I prefer, the mule or the donkey?' I thought that the mule would be more preferable to him due to its strength, so I said, 'The donkey.' He then said, 'I would prefer that you bring it to me.' I said, 'I have done so.' So he mounted, and I mounted as well.
When we left Al-Hira, he said, 'Proceed, O Yunus.' He then began to say, 'Turn right, turn left,' until we reached the red rocks. He said, 'This is the place.' I replied, 'Yes.' He then turned right and headed to a spot where there was water and a spring. He performed ablution and then approached a small hill, prayed there, then leaned on it and cried. After that, he moved to another smaller hill and did the same thing.
Then he said, 'O Yunus, do as I have done.' So I did as he instructed. When I finished, he asked me, 'O Yunus, do you know this place?' I replied, 'No.' He said, 'The place where I first prayed is the grave of the Commander of the Faithful (AS), and the other hill is the resting place of the head of al-Husayn ibn Ali ibn Abi Talib (AS). When the accursed Ubayd Allah ibn Ziyad, may Allah curse him, sent the head of al-Husayn (AS) to Syria, it was returned to Kufa. He then ordered it to be removed from the city so that the people of Kufa would not be tempted by it. Thus, Allah placed it near the Commander of the Faithful (AS), so the head is with the body, and the body is with the head."

1 – Yūnus b. Zhabyan, Kufan. A ghālī, a liar and a fabricator of ḥadīth. He narrated from Abū ʿAbdillāh عليه السلام . His ḥadīth are not turned to.

Hadith.817 - Yunus ibn Ya'qub asked Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as) about a man praying while wearing a burṭulah (a type of hat or head covering). The Imam said: "It does not harm him (there is no issue)."

Hadith.3051 - Yunus ibn Ya’qub asked Abu Abdullah (as) about sacrificing a cow. Imam (as) said: "It suffices for seven individuals."

“Abu al-Hassan (a.s.), said to me, ‘The assets of a lost person must be kept for four years; then they are distributed.’”

I wrote to Abi Abdillah عليه السلام asking him to supplicate to Allah that He makes me among those through whom he gives victory to His religion - but he did not answer me. I became saddened because of that. Yunus said: One of our companions later informed me that he had written to him with a similar request and was answered by him [the Imam] who wrote at the bottom of the letter ‘May Allah have mercy on you, verily Allah gives victory to His religion via the worst of his creatures’

"Most of the good is found in women."

“I heard Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) saying, ‘A handshake of believing people is better than a handshake of angels.’”

“Once I asked Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) ‘Does the exception apply to the major sins and Allah may chose to forgive (whichever He may so choose)?’ The Imam said, ‘Yes, it does apply.’”

“I saw abu al-Hassan (a.s.), wearing al-Taylisan (pallium) of blue color.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) has said, ‘Whoever publicizes our (confidential) Hadith, Allah will take away his belief.’”
