1. Muḥammad ibn ‘Abdillāh ibn Ja’far narrated to me from his father, from ‘Ali ibn Muḥammad ibn Sālim, from Muḥammad ibn Khālid, from ‘Abdillāh ibn Ḥammād Al-Basri, from ‘Abdillāh ibn ‘Abdil Raḥmān Al-Asam, from Ḥammād (ibn ‘Uthmān) Dhil Nāb, from Rūmi (ibn Zurārah), from Zurārah, who said
I asked Abā Ja’far (Imam Bāqir (a.s.)), “What do you say about someone who goes to the Ziyārah of your father (Ḥusain (a.s.)) while he is in (the state of) fear?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “On the Day of Great Terror (the Day of Judgment) Allāh will keep him safe and the angels will receive him. They will give him glad tidings by saying, ‘Do not be afraid nor saddened. This is the day of your success.”

“Abu ’Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that if you recite both Adhan and Iqamah, two rows of angels perform Salah (prayer) behind you. If you recite just Iqamah, only one row of angels performs Salah (prayer) behind you.” (Ahadith 3- 8 are best express in the form of fatwa.)

“The angel does not write down except that which he hears. Allah, to Whom belong might and majesty, said: Remember your Lord inwardly, in humility and awe… (Q7:205). Indeed, no one knows the reward of that remembrance within the heart of a servant other than Allah, the Exalted.”

“The angel writes down only what he hears and Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, has said, ‘Speak of your Lord deep within yourselves, humbly and privately. . . .’ (7:205) Thus, no one knows the reward for that act (of speaking deep within oneself) of Allah except Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, due to His greatness.’”

This one commands him and that one prohibits him. Satan commands him to disobey and the angel prohibits him from sins as it is mentioned in the words of Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, ‘. . . since the two scribes are sitting on each of his shoulders, he does not utter a word that is not recorded immediately by the watchful scribes.’” (50:17).

The ascent toward the heavens begins from here. I heard Aba Ja’far عليه السلام saying: Knowledge is of two kinds. A knowledge with Allah which is hidden. No one has seen into it among his creation. And a knowledge which He taught His angels and messengers. So as for that which He taught His angels and messengers then it must occur. He does not belie Himself, nor His angels, nor His messengers. As for the hidden knowledge with Him then He brings forward from it what He wills and puts back from it what He wills, and He establishes what He wills.

5. Muḥammad ibn ‘Abdillāh ibn Ja’far Al-Ḥimyari narrated to me from his father, from ‘Ali ibn Muḥammad ibn Sālim, from Muḥammad ibn Khālid, from ‘Abdillāh ibn Ḥammād Al-Basri, from ‘Abdillāh ibn ‘Abdil Raḥmān Al-Asam, from Mudlij, from Muḥammad ibn Muslim, who said
Abū Ja’far, Muḥammad ibn ‘Ali (Imam Bāqir (a.s.)) asked me, “Do you go to the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.)?” I replied, “Yes. However, I am in fear and I dread it.” Imam (a.s.) replied: The amount of reward for going to his Ziyārah is based on the degree of fear (involved). Therefore, the greater the fear, the greater the reward! Verily on the Day of Judgment, when people are raised for the Lord of the Worlds, Allāh will make the hearts of those who had gone fearfully to the Ziyārah of Ḥusain (a.s.), peaceful. (Those who go to the Ziyārah of Ḥusain (a.s.) in fear) will return having been forgiven. The angels say Salām to them and the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) will go to their Ziyārah and will pray for them. They will return “with grace and favour from Allāh and no harm [will touch] them and they [will follow] the pleasures of Allāh” (3:174).

They asked him about going to the Ziyārah of the grave of Ḥusain ibn ‘Ali (a.s.) and its rewards. Imam (a.s.) said
My father (a.s.) narrated to me that my grandfather (Imam Sajjād (a.s.)) used to say: Allāh will erase the sins of those who go to the Ziyārah of Ḥusain (a.s.) for the sake of (pleasing) Allāh. They will be sinless like a newborn baby. Angels will accompany them on their way (to the Ziyārah) and they will flap and spread their wings over them until they return to their families. Angels will seek forgiveness for them from their Lord and call out to them, “You have been blessed and blessed is the one to whose Ziyārah you have come.” They will be covered by Mercy from the heavens and their families will be protected for them.
