“I once heard abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), saying, ‘Women are given desires of twelve parts and patience of twelve parts.’”

"Whoever carries a weapon at night is considered a highway robber (muharib), unless he is a man who is not known for suspicion or wrongdoing."

People are (of) three (types): An Arab, a convert [1] and a disbeliever [2]. As for the Arabs, they are us. As for the convert, it is the one who befriends us. As for the disbeliever, it is the one who dissociates from us and is hostile to us.

"If a male slave confesses to theft once before the Imam, his hand is to be cut off. Likewise, if a female slave confesses to theft before the Imam, her hand is to be cut off."

“Mention Allah’s Greatness as you wish, but do not discuss His Essence, as He is greater than anything you may mention.”

“I once heard abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), saying, ‘Women are given desires of twelve parts and patience of twelve parts.’”

“Beware of discussing about Allah. Discuss His Reverence, but do not discuss His Essence. Verily, discussing Allah does nothing but lead astray.

“I heard abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), say, ‘Allah has granted you the extra wealth so that you spend it the way Allah wants you to spend. He has not given you this to keep for safe keeping.’”

“Abu ‘Abdallah (a.s.) said, “Why people get the course of adultery?” I said, “I do not know, May Allah take my soul in service for your cause.” He said, “It is because of not paying our al-Khums (one fifth religious dues) except our pure Shi‘a. It helps cleans their birth.”

"If he died within the sacred precinct (haram), it suffices as the Hajj of Islam. But if he died outside the haram, his heir should perform the Hajj of Islam on his behalf."

"The legal punishments (hudud) that are the rights of Allah (swt), the Mighty and Majestic, cannot be pardoned except by the Imam. However, when it comes to the rights of people in a legal punishment, there is no harm if it is pardoned without the Imam's involvement."

“Abu Ja’far (a.s.), has said, ‘Allah, the most Blessed, the most High, loves cooling off a thirsty liver. Whoever cools off a thirsty liver of an animal or others, Allah on the Day of Judgment provides him a shadow when there is no shadow except His shadow.”

Abu Abdillah عليه السلام said to Abd al-Malik b. A`yan: how did you come to name your son Dhurays? he said: how did your father come to name you Ja’far? he said: Ja`far is a river in paradise while Dhurays is a name of a devil!

“This is about a man who travels for Hajjahta al-Islam and dies on the way. Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), has said, ‘If he dies in al-Haram (the sacred area), it is sufficient for Hajjahta al-Islam. However, if he dies outside al-Haram (the sacred area), then his guardians should complete, Qada’ (compensatory for) Hajjahta al-Islam, on his behalf.’”

“When it was mentioned to abu Ja‘far (a.s.), that a man married a woman during the heat of the midday, abu Ja’far (a.s.), said, ‘I do not see they can agree.’ They then separated from each other (as he (the Imam) had mentioned).’”

I asked Imam Muhammad Baqir (a.s) to pronounce the name of the Qaim, so that I may recognize him through his name. The Imam said: Aba Khalid, you have asked about a thing and about one such that even if his children had recognized him, they would also have become jealous and have cut him into pieces.

he heard abu Ja‘far (a.s.) say the following. “Allah, the Most Holy, the Most High, has two kinds of knowledge. One kind is that which is granted and the kind is that which I withheld. Of the one which, is granted, nothing is known to the angels and the Messengers, but only we know it. The one which is withheld iis the kind that is before Allah, the Most Holy, the Most High in the original Book. When it appears it permeates.” come of Allah said:

A woman came to the Messenger of Allah (swt) (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) for some need, and he said to her: "Perhaps you are one of those who delay (their husbands)?" She asked: "And who are those who delay, O Messenger of Allah (swt)?" He (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: "A woman whose husband calls her for some need, but she keeps delaying him until he becomes drowsy and falls asleep. Such a woman is continuously cursed by the angels until her husband wakes up."

I heard Imam Zainul Abideen (a.s) say: Qaroon dressed in red and Firon used to dress in black; and he used to leave his hair loose and they fell on the two sides of his head; and Almighty Allah sent Musa (a.s) with prophethood. And the sons of so and so (Bani Abbas) also dress in black; and leave their hair loose and they fall on the sides of their heads; and Almighty Allah will also destroy them through his namesake (Musa).

And whatever is narrated from Abdul Malik bin A'yan, I have narrated it from Muhammad bin Ali Majilwayh - may Allah (swt) be pleased with him - from his uncle Muhammad bin Abi Al-Qasim, from Ahmad bin Abi Abdullah, from his father, from Yunus bin Abdul Rahman, from Abdul Malik bin A'yan, whose kunyah is Abu Daris. Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as), visited his grave in Medina with his companions.
