I asked al-Rida `Ali ibn Musa (AS) about the meaning of Bismillah: He (AS) said: “The meaning of the statement Bismillah is ‘I mark myself with one of the traits of Allah, the Mighty and High’ and that is true service.” I asked him, “What is al-simah?” Therefore, he (AS) replied, “It is the mark.”

Al-Rida (as) said: Whoever recalls our tragedy and weeps when he commits to us will be with us in our rank on the Day of Resurrection. Whoever recalls our tragedy, weeps, and makes others weep, his eye will not weep on the Day that the eyes will weep. Whoever partakes in a gathering in which our affair is revived, his heart will not die on the Day that the hearts will die.

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘One suffering from an illness performs Salah (prayer) in a sitting position; if one cannot do this also, one does so while lying on one’s back, says Takbir (Allah is great beyond description) then recites. For Ruku‘ (bowing down on one’s knees) closes his eyes, then says Tasbih (Allah is free of all defects), then opens his eyes. Opening one’s eyes is considered standing up from Ruku‘ (bowing down on one’s knees). For Sajdah (prostration) one closes one’s eyes, then says Tasbih (Allah is free of all defects) and then opens one’s eyes which is considered raising one’s head from Sajdah (prostration). Then one says Tashahhud (testimonies of belief) and ends Salah (prayer).”’

The Messenger of Allah (s) said: A part of me will be buried in Khurasan. A believer will not visit it except that Allah will make Paradise mandatory for him and forbid his body from the Fire.

“Muhammad ibn Ibrahim wrote to abu al-Hassan (a.s.), ‘My master, if you deem it proper, teach me a prayer that I can read after every Salah (prayer) so Allah will grant me good, both in this and the next life.’ The Imam wrote to him, ’Say, O Lord, I seek refuge with Your gracious presence, Your unassailable majesty and Your unstoppable power, against the evil of this world as well as those in the next life and against the misfortune of all illnesses.” (The following chapters are best explained by fatwa.)

When the month of Ramadan would begin, the Messenger of Allah (s) would free every captive and give to every beggar.

“Damned is anyone who has gone blind not being able to see the Trusteeship of the Members of my Household. Damned is anyone who is a slave of gold and silver. Damned is anyone who has sex with beasts.”

Allah says: If a creature of mine who recognizes Me disobeys Me, I will make one who does not recognize Me rule over him.

The Family of Yasin is the Family of Muhammed, peace be upon him.

I asked `Ali ibn Musa al-Rida (AS) about the word of Allah, the Mighty and High: "They do not wait aught but that Allah should come to them in the shadow of the clouds along with the angels." (2:210) He (AS) said: “They do not wait aught but that Allah should send angels to them in the shadow of the clouds along with the angels, that is how it was revealed.”

up to Abu Abdullah (asws) who (asws) said; ‘Why is it that I (asws) see you with a grim face?’ So I said, ‘I have fever’. So he (asws) said: ‘What prevents you from the blessed and good. Take the sugar and dissolve it in the water and drink it on an empty stomach and during the evening’. He said, ‘I did that, so it (fever) did not return to me’.

“And his son, may Allah protect him, has always been our man of trust during the lifetime of his father. He is to us like his father and in his place. He orders to our command and according to our command he acts. May Allah cherish him. Pay heed to his word and let this assertion of ours be known.”

I see my followers when they will not find the third from my progeny. They will be looking for someone to take charge of their affairs, but they will find no one to do so.” I asked, “O son of the Prophet of God! Why?” The Imam (s) said, “That is because their Divine Leader will become absent.” I asked, “Why?” The Imam (s) said, “That is because when he (s) rises with the sword, no one’s pledge of allegiance is binding upon him.”

“Do not give any alms-tax and do not accept the testimony of whoever believes in predestination. In fact, the Sublime God never burdens anyone with more than he can bear, and never forces anyone to do what is beyond his power. ‘…Every soul draws the meed of its acts on none but itself: no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another…’”

Do not give charity or accept the testimony of someone who believes in determinism. Verily, Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, does not burden not burden a soul with more than it can bear. No bearer of a burden shall bear the burden of another.

“The Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali (MGB) wrote his staff and ordered them to do the following five things: Sharpen your pencils a little when you want to write; write the lines close to each other; skip additional and unrelated issues; and write briefly. I admonish you against wasting the possessions of the Muslims.”

Ja’far ibn Muḥammad Al-Sādiq (a.s.) said: Allāh will forgive the past and future sins of those who go to the Ziyārah of Ḥusain (a.s.) on the night of the fifteenth of Sha’bān. Allāh will register the reward of one thousand accepted Hajj and one thousand purified ‘Umrah for those who go to the Ziyārah of Ḥusain (a.s.) on the Day of ‘Arafah. Those who go to the Ziyārah of Ḥusain (a.s.) on the Day of ‘Āshūrā, it is as if they have gone to the Ziyārah of Allāh on top of His Throne. The above Ḥadīth has also been narrated to me through the following chain: Muḥammad ibn ‘Abdillāh ibn Ja’far, from his father ‘Abdillāh ibn Ja’far Al-Ḥimyari, from Muḥammad ibn Ḥusain, from Ḥamdān ibn Mu’āfā, from Ibn Abī ‘Umayr, from Zayd Al-Shaḥḥām, from Abī ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)).

I heard Abā ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) say: Verily there is a grave near you to which no anguished person goes without Allāh removing his anguish and fulfilling his requests. Verily there are four thousand angels next to his grave (who have been there) since the day his life was taken. They are disheveled, covered with dust, and they cry over him (and will continue to do so) until the Day of Judgment. These angels accompany those who go to the Ziyārah of Ḥusain (a.s.) (back to their safe haven). If they become ill, the angels will visit them. And when they die, the angels will follow their corpses in their funerals.

God’s Prophet (S) said, “Soon one of my own flesh and blood will be buried in the land of Khorasan. Any believer who goes on pilgrimage to his shrine will be rewarded by God. Heaven will be guaranteed for him and his body will be secure from the Fire of Hell.”

The successor - Mahdi (a.s) was born on Friday. His mother is Raihana and she is called Narjis, Saiqal and Susan. She was called Saiqal (shining), because of the luminous pregnancy.
