2. My father narrated to me from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Ibrāhīm ibn Hāshim, from ‘Uthmān ibn ‘Isā, from ‘Amr ibn Shimr, from Jābir (Al-Ju’fi), from Abī Ja’far (Imam Bāqir (a.s.)), who said
The Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.) said: There is a position in Hell that no one deserves except the killer of Ḥusain ibn ‘Ali (a.s.) and the killer of Yahyā ibn Zakariyyā (a.s.).
2 وَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي (رحمه الله) عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ هَاشِمٍ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شِمْرٍ عَنْ جَابِرٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ (ع) قَالَ

hadith 655
4. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Hakam from Sayf ibn ‘Amirah from ‘Amr ibn Shimr from Jabir who has said the following
“Abu Ja’far (a.s.), has said, ‘If one escorts a deceased until the Salah (prayer) for a deceased is performed, his reward is one qirat and one who escorts the deceased up to the grave and until burial is complete, his reward is two qirat; and one qirat is of the size of the mountain of ‘Uhud.”
4ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ سَيْفِ بْنِ عَمِيرَةَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شِمْرٍ عَنْ جَابِرٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) قَالَ
مَنْ شَيَّعَ مَيِّتاً حَتَّى يُصَلِّيَ عَلَيْهِ كَانَ لَهُ قِيرَاطٌ مِنَ الأجْرِ وَمَنْ بَلَغَ مَعَهُ إِلَى قَبْرِهِ حَتَّى يُدْفَنَ كَانَ لَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ مِنَ الأجْرِ وَالْقِيرَاطُ مِثْلُ جَبَلِ أُحُدٍ.

2. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Khalid from his father from a man from the people of al-Kufah called abu Muhammad from ‘Amr ibn Shamir from Jabir from abu Ja’far (a.s.) who has said the following
“The smiling of a man for his brother (in belief) is a good deed, so also is removing a speck from him (his eyes). Allah is not worshipped with anything more beloved to Him than bringing joy to the heart of a believer.”
2ـ عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكُوفَةِ يُكَنَّى أَبَا مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شِمْرٍ عَنْ جَابِرٍ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ
تَبَسُّمُ الرَّجُلِ فِي وَجْهِ أَخِيهِ حَسَنَةٌ وَصَرْفُ الْقَذَى عَنْهُ حَسَنَةٌ وَمَا عُبِدَ الله بِشَيْ‏ءٍ أَحَبَّ إِلَى الله مِنْ إِدْخَالِ السُّرُورِ عَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِ.

13. Abu Ali al-Ash‘ariy has narrated from Muhammad ibn Salim from Ahmad ibn al-Nadr from ‘Amr ibn Shamir from Jabir from ‘Abd Allah ibn Yahya al-Kindiy from his father who provided water for ’Amir al-Mu’minin (a.s.), for his wudu who has said the following
“Amir al-Mu’minin, has said, that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said that Jibril (a.s.), has said, ‘We do not enter a house in which a picture on which feet are not set exists . . . Hadith in brief.’”

he heard Abu Khalid al-Ahmari quote on the authority of Isma’il ibn Abi Khalid, on the authority of Ata ibn al-Sa’eb, on the authorityof his father, on the authority of Abdullah ibn Amr that God’s Prophet (MGB) said, “There are a lot of good deeds but there are only a few good-doers.”

1. Amirul Momineen Ali Ibne Abi Talib (a.s.) says, “One who recites Surah Nisa every Friday would remain safe from the squeeze of the grave.”

مَنْ قَرَأَ سُورَهَ النِّسَاءِ فِی کُلِّ جُمُعَهٍ أُومِنَ مِنْ ضَغْطَهِ الْقَبْرِ.

hadith 302
Aamr b. Shuayb narrated, on the authority of his father, on the authority of his grandfather, that some people spoke about a man in the presence of the Prophet (SAWA), saying, ‘He does not eat unless he is fed, and does not go out unless a mount is made ready for him. So the Prophet (SAWA) said, ‘
You have talked about him behind his back to which they replied, ‘O Prophet of Allah, we have only said what is true! so he exclaimed, ‘It is bad enough to talk about your brother regarding what is true [let alone what is false]!
الترغيب والترهيب عن عَمرُو بن شُعَيبٍ ـ عن أبيهِ عن جدِّهِ ـ: أنّهم ذَكَرُوا عندَ رسولِ اللّهِ (صَلَّيَ اللهُ عَلَيهِ وَ آلِهِ) رجُلاً فقالوا: لا يَأكُلُ حتّى يُطعَمَ، ولا يَرحَلُ حتى يُرحَلَ لَهُ، فقالَ النبيُّ (صَلَّيَ اللهُ عَلَيهِ وَ آلِهِ): اغتَبتُمُوهُ، فقالوا: يا رسولَ اللّهِ، إنّما حَدَّثْنا بما فيهِ ! قال
حَسبُكَ إذا ذَكَرتَ أخاكَ بما فيهِ.

hadith 179
1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from abu al- Maghra’ from Zayd al-Shahham from ‘Amr ibn Sa’id ibn Hilal al-Thaqafi who has said the following
“Once I said to Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) ‘I can visit you only once every several years. Teach me, please, something to which I can hold.’ The Imam said, ‘I advise you to be pious before Allah, restrain from worldly matters (sins) and work hard. Note it properly that hard work without restraint from worldly matters is of no benefit.’”
1ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْمَغْرَاءِ عَنْ زَيْدٍ الشَّحَّامِ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ هِلالٍ الثَّقَفِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ
قُلْتُ لَهُ إِنِّي لا أَلْقَاكَ إِلا فِي السِّنِينَ فَأَخْبِرْنِي بِشَيْ‏ءٍ آخُذُ بِهِ فَقَالَ أُوصِيكَ بِتَقْوَى الله وَالْوَرَعِ وَالإجْتِهَادِ وَاعْلَمْ أَنَّهُ لا يَنْفَعُ اجْتِهَادٌ لا وَرَعَ فِيهِ.

4-18 Abu Ahmad Muhammad ibn Ja’far al-Bandar narrated that Ja’far ibn Muhammad ibn Nooh quoted Muhammad ibn Amr, on the authority of Yazid ibn Zari’a, on the authority of Bashir ibn Namir, on the authority of Al-Qasim ibn Abdul Rahman, on the authority of Abi Imamat that God’s Prophet (MGB) said, “
God would not take a look at the following four people on the Resurrection Day: those who are damned by their parents; those who mention their favors; those who deny predestination; and alcoholics.”

17. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn abu Najran from Muhammad ibn ‘Amr [and] Ibrahim al-Sindiy from Yahya al- Azraq who has said the following
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that ’Amir al-Mu’minin had dug a well, then they threw things in it and it was reported to him (the Imam). He went, stood on the well and said, ‘You must stop throwing things in it, otherwise, I will make the pigeons to use it as their living place.’ Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), then said, ‘The sound of the flapping wings of a pigeon repels Shayatin.’”
عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجْرَانَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ السِّنْدِيِّ عَنْ يَحْيَى الْأَزْرَقِ قَالَ
قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) احْتَفَرَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ( عليه السلام ) بِئْراً فَرَمَوْا فِيهَا فَأُخْبِرَ بِذَلِكَ فَجَاءَ حَتَّى وَقَفَ عَلَيْهَا فَقَالَ لَتَكُفَّنَّ أَوْ لَأُسْكِنَنَّهَا الْحَمَامَ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) إِنَّ حَفِيفَ أَجْنِحَتِهَا تَطْرُدُ الشَّيَاطِينَ .

31. It is narrated from him (narrator of the Hadith above) from Isma’il ibn Mehran from Sayf ibn ‘Amirah from Sulayman ibn ‘Amr al-Nakha’i who has said that narrated to him al-Husayn ibn Sayf from his brother Ali from Sulayman from those who he mentioned (in his book) from abu Ja’far (a.s.) who has said the following
“The Holy Prophet was asked about the best ones among the servants (of Allah). The Holy Prophet said, ‘They are those who enjoy doing good deeds, and ask forgiveness when they do bad deeds, thank when they are favored, exercise patience when they suffer and forgive when they are subjected to anger.’”
31ـ عَنْهُ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ مِهْرَانَ عَنْ سَيْفِ بْنِ عَمِيرَةَ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ عَمْرٍو النَّخَعِيِّ قَالَ وَحَدَّثَنِي الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ سَيْفٍ عَنْ أَخِيهِ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ عَمَّنْ ذَكَرَهُ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ
سُئِلَ النَّبِيُّ (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وآلِه) عَنْ خِيَارِ الْعِبَادِ فَقَالَ الَّذِينَ إِذَا أَحْسَنُوا اسْتَبْشَرُوا وَإِذَا أَسَاءُوا اسْتَغْفَرُوا وَإِذَا أُعْطُوا شَكَرُوا وَإِذَا ابْتُلُوا صَبَرُوا وَإِذَا غَضِبُوا غَفَرُوا.

18. It is a narration from him (narrator of previous Hadith) by Muhammad ibn Ahmad from Ahmad ibn al-Hassan ibn Ali ibn Faddal from ‘Amr ibn Sa’id al-Mada’iniy from Musaddiq ibn Sadaqah from ‘Ammar ibn Musa who has said the following
“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about a man who forgets a letter of the recitation and remembers it in Ruku‘ (bowing down on one’s knees); is it permissible for him to recite in Ruku‘? He (the Imam) said, ‘No, it is not permissible but he recites in Sujud (prostration).”’
18ـ وَعَنْهُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ فَضَّالٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَعِيدٍ الْمَدَائِنِيِّ عَنْ مُصَدِّقِ بْنِ صَدَقَةَ عَنْ عَمَّارِ بْنِ مُوسَى عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام)
أَنَّهُ قَالَ فِي الرَّجُلِ يَنْسَى حَرْفاً مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ فَيَذْكُرُ وَهُوَ رَاكِعٌ هَلْ يَجُوزُ لَهُ أَنْ يَقْرَأَ فِي الرُّكُوعِ قَالَ لاَ وَلَكِنْ إِذَا سَجَدَ فَلْيَقْرَأْ.

“Al-Qa’im disappears twice. In one of them it will be said: He has perished or it is unknown which valley he has followed.”

له في إحداهما: هلك ولا يُدرى في أيّ وادٍ سلك.

hadith 16
1. My father, may Allah grant him mercy, said: We were told by Ali bin Ibrahim bin Hashim, from his father, from Abbas bin Amru al-Fuqaymi, from Hisham bin Hakam, from Abu Abdillah, peace be upon him, that he said
to the heretic when he asked him about what Allah is: He is a Thing different to all things. With my saying «a thing» I indicate to confirm a meaning, and that He is a Thing by the truth of Thingness, except that He is not a matter nor an image.
أبي - رحمه الله - قال: حدثنا علي بن إبراهيم بن هاشم، عن أبيه، عن العباس بن عمرو الفقيمي، عن هشام بن الحكم، عن أبي عبد الله عليه السلام
أنه قال للزنديق - حين سأله عن الله ما هو؟ - قال: هو شئ بخلاف الأشياء ارجع بقولي شئ إلى إثبات معنى وأنه شئ بحقيقة الشيئية غير أنه لا جسم ولا صورة.

hadith 2092
5. Hamid ibn Ziyad has narrated from al-Khashshab from ibn Baqqah from Mu’adh from ‘Amr ibn Jami’ in a marfu’ manner from Ali ibn al-Husayn (a.s.) who has said the following
“The Messenger of Allah has said, ‘Whoever reads four verses from the beginning of Chapter 2 of the Holy Quran, verse 255- 257 and three verses from the end of this Chapter, he will not experience anything in his own self or property that he dislikes, Satan will not approach him and he will not forget the Holy Quran.’”
5ـ حُمَيْدُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ عَنِ الْخَشَّابِ عَنِ ابْنِ بَقَّاحٍ عَنْ مُعَاذٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ جُمَيْعٍ رَفَعَهُ إِلَى عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ (عَلَيهِما السَّلام) قَالَ
قَالَ رَسُولُ الله (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وآلِه) مَنْ قَرَأَ أَرْبَعَ آيَاتٍ مِنْ أَوَّلِ الْبَقَرَةِ وَآيَةَ الْكُرْسِيِّ وَآيَتَيْنِ بَعْدَهَا وَثَلاثَ آيَاتٍ مِنْ آخِرِهَا لَمْ يَرَ فِي نَفْسِهِ وَمَالِهِ شَيْئاً يَكْرَهُهُ وَلا يَقْرَبُهُ شَيْطَانٌ وَلا يَنْسَى الْقُرْآنَ.

By this isnad from Ibrahim b. Muhammad al-Thaqafi. He said: Al-Hakam b. Sulayman narrated to us. He said: `Ali b. Hashim narrated to us from `Amr b. Harith al-Ashja`i from Bardha`a b. `Abd al-Rahman from Abi'l Khalil from Salman (rh). He said
I visited the Messenger of Allah (s) when he was dying, and he said: `Ali b. Abi Talib is the best [person] I leave behind.
20 - وبهذا الاسناد، عن إبراهيم بن محمد الثقفي، قال: حدثنا الحكم بن سليمان، قال: حدثنا علي بن هاشم، عن عمرو بن حريث الاشجعي، عن برذعة بن عبد الرحمن، عن أبي الخليل، عن سلمان (رحمة الله عليه)، قال
دخلت على رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله) عند الموت، فقال: علي بن أبي طالب أفضل من تركت بعدي (3).

My father (ra) narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. Yahya al-`Attar narrated to us. He said: Ja`far b. Muhammad b. Malik al-Kufi narrated to us from Sa`id b. `Amr from Isma`il b. Bishr b. `ammar. He said
Harun al-Rashid wrote to Abi’l Hasan Musa b. Ja`far (as): Exhort me succinctly. So, he wrote to him: There is nothing that you see before your eyes except that it has an exhortation in it.
8 - حدثنا أبي (رضي الله عنه)، قال: حدثنا محمد بن يحيى العطار، قال: حدثنا جعفر بن محمد بن مالك الكوفي، عن سعيد بن عمرو، عن إسماعيل بن بشر ابن عمار، قال
كتب هارون الرشيد إلى أبي الحسن موسى بن جعفر (عليه السلام): عظني وأوجز. قال: فكتب إليه: ما من شئ تراه عينك إلا وفيه موعظة (2).

I asked Abal Ḥasan Al-Māďi (Imam Kāżim (a.s.)) about establishing prayers in the two Ḥarams. Imam (a.s.) replied, “Establish prayers in full form even if you are passing through (Makkah or Madīnah).”
9 وَ مِنْ زِيَادَةِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ مَا فِي حَدِيثِ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ إِدْرِيسَ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ زَكَرِيَّا الْقُمِّيِّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو عَنْ قائد [فَائِدٍ الْحَنَّاطِ عَنْ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ الْمَاضِي (ع) قَالَ
سَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ فِي الْحَرَمَيْنِ فَقَالَ تُتِمُّ وَ لَوْ مَرَرْتَ بِهِ مَارّاً

5. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abd Allah from his father from his grandfather from ‘Abd Allah ibn al- Mughirah from ‘Amr ibn abu al-Miqdam who has said the following
“Once my father and I were with abu Ja’far (a.s.), when a bowl made of pottery with water was brought. He (the Imam) drank standing. He then gave it to my father who also drank standing and gave it to me and I also drank standing.’”
عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ أَبِي الْمِقْدَامِ قَالَ
كُنْتُ عِنْدَ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ ( عليه السلام ) أَنَا وَ أَبِي فَأُتِيَ بِقَدَحٍ مِنْ خَزَفٍ فِيهِ مَاءٌ فَشَرِبَ وَ هُوَ قَائِمٌ ثُمَّ نَاوَلَهُ أَبِي فَشَرِبَ مِنْهُ وَ هُوَ قَائِمٌ ثُمَّ نَاوَلَنِيهِ فَشَرِبْتُ مِنْهُ وَ أَنَا قَائِمٌ .

3. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Musa ibn Ja’far from ‘Amr ibn Sa‘id from Muhammad al-Hashimiy from Ahmad ibn Yusuf from Ali ibn Dawud al-ffaddad from Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) who said
‘You must not marry al-Zanj and al-Khazar; they have such wombs that indicate disloyalty.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘Of Indians, al-Sind and al-Qand - meaning al-Qandahar - a hybrid does not exist among them.’
3- عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْهَاشِمِيِّ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ يُوسُفَ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ دَاوُدَ الْحَدَّادِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) قَالَ
لا تُنَاكِحُوا الزِّنْجَ وَالْخَزَرَ فَإِنَّ لَهُمْ أَرْحَاماً تَدُلُّ عَلَى غَيْرِ الْوَفَاءِ قَالَ وَالْهِنْدُ وَالسِّنْدُ وَالْقَنْدُ لَيْسَ فِيهِمْ نَجِيبٌ يَعْنِي الْقُنْدُهَارَ.
