“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘The weight of dirham in those days was six.’”

“Whoever pleases a king by raising God's anger abandons God's religion.”

“Fear God, and be friends with each other. Go to visit each other and your relatives. Be kind and merciful to each other. Be good brothers for each other.”

“A believer fears no one but God, and says nothing but the truth.”

“There is no problem in writing your friend’s name before your name in a letter.”

“Whoever illegitimately devours the property of a believer is not my friend.”

Hadith.817 - Yunus ibn Ya'qub asked Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as) about a man praying while wearing a burṭulah (a type of hat or head covering). The Imam said: "It does not harm him (there is no issue)."

Hadith.3051 - Yunus ibn Ya’qub asked Abu Abdullah (as) about sacrificing a cow. Imam (as) said: "It suffices for seven individuals."

"The year has twelve months, and an Umrah can be performed in each month."

“Whoever fulfills the needs of a believer without belittling him will be housed in Heaven.”

“Once, when, I was with abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), a man also was there. He said, ‘I pray to Allah to keep my soul in service for your cause, I love children.’ He (the Imam) asked, ‘Why is it?’ He said, ‘I carry them on my back.’ Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), placed his hand on his forehead and turned his face away from him. The man cried and abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), looked to him as if he sympathized and said, ‘When you go to your town buy a healthy camel and tie it down firmly then take a sword and slash its hump to take away its skin and sit on it as it is naturally hot.’ ‘Umar has said that the man said, ‘When I returned to my town I bought a healthy camel, tied it down firmly, took the sword and took away its skin and sat on it as it was naturally warm and on the back of the camel from me fell something like a small frog (lizard) and my problem calmed down.’”

I was circumambulating the Sacred House (i.e. the Ka'bah) when a man came to me from amongst our companions and asked me to lend him two Dinars. I had completed five rounds and said to him, 'when I finish my seven rounds, I will come out.' When I started the sixth round, I was approached by Abu 'Abd Allah (a.s). He put his hand on my shoulder (circumambulating with me). I finished my seven and started another round because Abu 'Abd Allah (a.s) was leaning on me; and every time I passed the Rukn, the man waiting for the loan signaled to me. Abu 'Abd Allah (a.s) thus said to me, 'who is that man beckoning you?' 'May I be ransomed for you,' I said, 'this is one of your associates. He asked me for a loan of two Dinars and I asked him to wait until I finish my seven rounds.' Abu 'Abd Allah (a.s) said, 'Go and give it to him.' Anyhow, I thought he said so because I had promised the man; but the next day, I visited him when he was encompassed by a group amongst our companions to whom he was talking. When he saw me, he interrupted his speech and said, 'For me, to walk with my brother in his need until I fulfill it for him is more preferable than freeing one thousand slaves and providing one thousand horses in the way of Allah, all saddled and reined (i.e. fully equipped).'

“I went to see (the Blessed Lady) Fatima - the daughter of God’s Prophet (s). There was a tablet in front of her. It was so brilliant that it was about to blind my eyes. Twelve names could be seen - three names on the tablet, three names on the back, three names at the end and three names on the side. I counted them. There were twelve of them. I asked, ‘Whose names are these?’ (The Blessed Lady) Fatima (s) replied, ‘These are the names of the Trustees. The first of them is my cousin (Imam Ali), and the rest are from my progeny. The last one of them is the Riser.’”Jabir ibn Abdullah Al-Ansari added, “The name Muhammad Muhammad Muhammad was seen in three places and the name Ali Ali Ali Ali could be seen in four places.”

Abu Abdullah (asws) having said: ‘There was a man in Al-Medina who entered the Masjid of the Messenger (saww) and he said, ‘Grant me comfort in my anxiety, and company for my loneliness, and sustenance of a righteous companion’. There was a man seated in the corner of the Masjid. So he greeted him and said to him, ‘Who are you, O servant of Allah (azwj)?’ So he (ar) said: ‘I (ar) am Abu Dharr (ar)’. The man said, ‘Allah (azwj) is Great! Allah (azwj) is Great!’ So Abu Dharr (ar) said: ‘And why did you exclaim that, O servant of Allah (azwj)?’ He said, ‘I entered the Masjid, so I supplicated to Allah (azwj) Mighty and Majestic to Grant me comfort in my anxiety, and company for my loneliness, and sustenance of a righteous companion’. So Abu Dharr (ar) said to him, ‘I (ar) have more right for the exclamation than you are if I (ar) was that companion, for I (ar) heard the Rasool Allah (saww) saying: ‘I (saww) and you (ar) would be upon a canal on the Day of Judgement until the people are free from the Accounting. Arise (and leave) O servant of Allah (azwj) for the authorities have prohibited for anyone to be seated with me (ar)’.

we were about thirty men in the presence of Abi Abdillah عليه السلام when my father entered in to see him. Abu Abdillah عليه السلام welcomed him, made him sit by his side and turned to him [to talk] for a long time, then Abu Abdillah عليه السلام said: Abi Muawiya has a private request so if you could all leave us, we all stood but my father said to me: return O Muawiya, so I returned. Abu Abdillah عليه السلام said: this one is your son? He [my father] said: yes, he claims that the people of Madina do something which is not permitted for them, he [the Imam] said: what is that? I [Muawiya] said: a Qurashi and a Hashimi woman mounts [a camel] by putting her hand on the head of a black slave and while her forearm is on his neck [for support]. Abu Abdillah عليه السلام said: O son – do you read the Qur’an? I said: yes, he said: read this verse: “there is no blame upon women [to expose themselves to] their fathers or their sons … or those their right hands possess [slaves]” (33:55), then he said: O son, there is no harm if the slave sees the hair and the shin [of a non-Mahram woman].

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), once gave my father one thousand seven hundred dinars and told him to use them in business. He (the Imam) then said, ‘I am not interested in its profits, even though profits are desirable. I love, however, that Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, see me work to make profits.’ He (the narrator) has said, ‘I then made one hundred dinar profit for him. I met him and informed him about the one hundred dinar profits.’ He (the narrator) has said that abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), became very happy about it and told me to keep it with his capital. He (the narrator) has said that my father passed away and goods were with him. Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), then wrote to me, ‘May Allah grant to us and to you good health. There is my one thousand eight hundred dinar with abu Muhammad which I had given him to use in business. You must give this amount to ‘Umar ibn Yazid.’ He (the narrator) has said, that I then checked the record of my father and found that one thousand seven hundred dinars were due in favor of abu Musa (a.s.), and I had earned one hundred dinars profit, ‘Abd Allah ibn Sinan and ‘Umar ibn Yazid knew him.”

“Abu ‘Abdallah (a.s.) has said, ‘If a people would worship Allah only Who has no partner, maintain the prayers, pay Zakat, perform Hajj of the House and fast in the month of Ramadan but say about something that Allah or the Messenger of Allah has done, would that it had been done differently or find such feelings in their hearts in this they will be considered as polytheists. He then recited this verse of the Holy Quran. “I swear by your Lord that they will not be considered believers until they let you judge their disputes and then they will find nothing in their souls to prevent them from accepting your judgment, thus, submitting themselves to the will of God.” (4:65). Abu ‘Abdallah (a.s.) then said, “You have to be submissive (before Allaah).”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘I, in the time of abu al- ‘Abbas, once was in al-Hirah, when I went before him and people had doubts about the fast, and that day, by Allah, was of the month of Ramadan. I said Salam (the phrase of offering greeting of peace) to him and he asked, “O abu ‘Abd Allah, have you fasted today?” I replied, “No, I have not fasted;” the table was before him. He said, “Come close and eat.” He (the Imam) said, ‘I went close and ate, and said, “I fast with you and eat with you.’” A man then said to abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), ‘Did you eat on the day of the month of Ramadan?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘Yes, by Allah, eating on one day of the month of Ramadan is more beloved to me than my neck being cut off.’”

Al-Sadiq Abu `Abdillah Ja`far b. Muhammad (as) said: When al-Husayn b. `Ali (as) was struck with the sword, and they prepared to sever his head, a caller called from the direction of the Lord of Glory from the depth of the Throne, saying: “O Nation that has become perplexed and misguided after its Prophet! Allah will not allow you to find success in Adha nor in Fitr.” He said: Then, Abu `Abdillah (as) said: By Allah, they will never find support nor success until the Revolutionary of al-Husayn (as) rises.

"As I was washing Al-Fudayl, his hand would move ahead of me to cover his private parts." When this was reported to Imam Abu Abdullah (as), he said: "May Allah (swt) have mercy on Al-Fudayl ibn Yasar. He is one of us, the Ahl Al-Bayt."
