عبد الله

Allah has never been worshipped with anything better than fulfilling the right of a believer.

“The reward of shaking hands with each other is equal to the reward of a soldier in the way of Allah.”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) has said, ‘Do not trust your brother (friend) in totality; a sudden fall of attachment is never repairable.’”

“I have broken off from them, so you should break off from them too.”

“I once heard abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), saying, ‘The Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, “When a man enters a town he is the guest of those who live there of the people of his religion until he leaves that town.’”

“I heard Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) saying, ‘Maintain good relations among yourselves, do good to one another, be compassionate and lenient to each other.’”

“A councilor cannot lie (is not supposed to).”

“One who feeds a believer for the sake of Allah will get the reward of feeding Fiyaam people.” The narrator asked, “What is meant by Fiyaam?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “A hundred thousand people.”

1. Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) narrates that the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) said, “One who respects a Muslim while conversing, Allah will love him and solve his difficulties. That person will remain in Allah’s mercy till he continues doing so.”

“Once in the presence of Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) there were people speaking to him. One man mentioned the name of another man and he began to criticize him and complained against him. Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) asked, ‘Where from can you have a perfect brother? Who is among man, free and pure of faults and flaws?”’

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘A man who looks down on what he has for the guest is ruined.’”

“Allah the best way to worship is to fulfil (protect) the rights of the believer.”

1. Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) said, “One who keeps away from a believer, the Almighty Allah will veil Paradise from him with seventy thousand walls, each at a distance of a thousand years from one another.”

Abd Allah ibn Sinan said: I said to Abu 'Abd Allah (a.s), 'it is true that believers are forbidden from exposing other believers, is it not?' 'Yes, it is' he replied. 'Does this mean physical nakedness?' I asked. 'No, it is not,' he replied, 'rather it refers to disclosing his secrets.'

One of the companions of Imam Sadiq (a.s) asked him if they should pray for their brothers who work for the government. The Imam (a.s) asked him if there is any use in what they do for him. When he replied in the negative Imam Sadiq (a.s) said: “I disavow myself of them, and so does God.”

“One who honors his Muslim brother (in belief) who has come to him, in fact, has revered Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy.”

“A man’s prayer for his brother (in belief) in his absence increases his sustenance and repulses misfortune.”

“Once a man, in the presence of Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) recited this verse of the Holy Quran: ‘Those who annoy the believing men and women without reason will bear the sin for a false accusation, a manifest offense.’ (33:58) The narrator has said that Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) then asked, ‘What then is the reward for sending joy to his heart?’ I said, ‘May Allah keep my soul in service for your cause, ten good deeds.’ The Imam said, ‘Yes, by Allah, it is one million good deeds.’”

A man’s supplication for his brother when he is away from him generates sustenance (rizq) and repels hateful things.

“I hate the person who gives more importance to a mortgaged thing than a Muslim brother.”
