"Whoever rides a zamilah (simple mount) should make a will,"

"Whoever provides iftar to a fasting person will have a reward equal to that of the fasting person."

"It is not proper to drink from vessels made of silver and gold."

He said: "I see no harm in rows (of prayer) being between the columns (pillars)."

"Abu Abdullah (as), said: 'There is no harm in emancipating the child born out of wedlock.' "

I heard Abu 'Abd Allah (a.s) saying: The death of a believer leaves a gap in religion.

“Do not make life hard for yourselves. Inform your religious brothers whenever you run into difficulties in life.”

Sweet basil is of twenty-one kinds and the master among them is myrtle.’”

“Whoever does not withstand the people's cruelty is not grateful for blessings.”

“Whoever puts what he knows into practice will not need what he does not know.”

Can a slave see the hair of his master if his master is a woman?” He said: “Yes. He can even see her legs.”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘It is a saving to perform Salat (prayer) in complete form in the two al-Haram (the sacred places), (Masjid al-Haram and Masjid of al-Madinah).”’

“Once, when I was present, a man said to abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), ‘I pray to Allah to keep my soul in service for your cause, I make a great number of mistakes in my Salah (prayer).’ He (the Imam) said, ‘Has anyone remained safe thereby?’ I (the narrator) then said, ‘I think no one makes as many mistakes as I do.’ Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), then said to him, ‘O abu Muhammad, sometimes of Salah (prayer) of a servant (of Allah) one-third is raised, sometimes one-half or three- fourth or less or more depending upon the quantity of one’s mistakes in that Salah (prayer). However, it is completed with his optional Salah (prayer).’ Abu Basir then said to him (the Imam), ‘I think, optional Salah (prayer) should not be omitted in any condition.’ Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), then said, ‘Yes, it should not be omitted.’”

I went to the Commander of the Believers (a.s.) (one day) and found Ḥusain (a.s.) (sitting) beside him. He tapped the shoulder of Ḥusain (a.s.) and said, “He will be killed and no one will help him.” “O Commander of the Believers! I swear to Allāh that life would become miserable (if that happened),” I said. “Verily it will happen,” the Commander of the Believers (a.s.) replied. The above Ḥadīth has also been narrated to me through the following chain: My father, from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, ‘Abdillāh ibn Ja’far Al-Ḥimyari, and Muḥammad ibn Yaḥyā Al-‘Aťťār, from Muḥammad ibn Ḥusain (ibn Abil Khaťťāb), from ‘Ali ibn Nu’mān, from ‘Abdil Raḥmān ibn Sayābah, from Abī Dāwūd Al-Sabī’i, from Abī ‘Abdillāh Al-Jadali, from the Commander of the Believers (a.s.).

the commander of the faithful عليه السلام said: men are of three kinds: intelligent, foolish and corrupt sinner, as for the intelligent one the religion is his path, and forbearance is his habit, and giving counsel is his disposition, when he is asked he answers, and when he speaks he is to the point, and when he hears he comprehends, and when he reports he is truthful, and when one confides in him he is loyal, as for the fool if someone alerts him to a beautiful thing he overlooks it, and if he is dissuaded from good he acquiesces to forsake it, and if he is driven to ignorance he becomes ignorant, and if he reports he is incorrect, he does not understand and if perchance he is able to understand he does not learn from it, and as for the corrupt sinner if you rely on him he betrays you, and if you befriend him he hates you, and if you trust him he is not sincere with you.

I heard the Prophet (sw) say, ‘There are ten signs before the Hour - five in the East and five in the West.’ He (sw) mentioned the Beast of the earth, the Dajjal, the rise of the sun from where it usually sets, the return of Jesus son of Mary (AS), Gog and Magog and the victory over them and their being drowned in the sea.’ He (sw) did not say the rest.”

“He intervenes between man and the belief that falsehood is the righteous.” It is also said: “Verily, Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, intervenes between man and his heart through death.” Abu `Abd Allah (AS) said: “Verily, Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, brings people from adversity to privilege, but does not bring people for privilege to adversity.”

“‘Abd Allah was about to die and his creditors gathered around him demanding payment. He said to them, ‘I do not have any property to pay you but you may choose one of the sons of my uncle, Ali ibn Al-Husayn (a.s.), and ‘Abd Allah ibn Ja’far who will assume responsibility to pay you.’ They said, “Abd Allah ibn Ja’far is a procrastinator and slow to respond. Ali ibn Al-Husayn (a.s.), does not have any properties but is a truthful person and more beloved one of the two to us.’ He then sent someone to inform him of the case, and he said, ‘I assume responsibility to pay you by the time of harvest,’ although he did not have any harvest but he said so to show kindness. The people said, ‘We accept your offer.’ He assumed the responsibility and when time for harvest came Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, made it possible for him to pay and he did so.”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) has said, ‘If a people worship Allah alone and do not consider anything as His partner, perform the prayer, pay al-Zakat (charity), perform Hajj of the Sacred House, fast in the month of Ramadan and then say about something Allah has done or the Holy Prophet has done, “Why not is it done as such and such?” Or they find such things in their hearts, for this they will turn into Mushrik, considering things as partners of Allah.’ The Imam then read this verse of the Holy Quran: ‘I swear by your Lord that they will not be considered believers until they allow you to settle their disputes and then they will find nothing in their souls to prevent them from accepting your judgment, thus, submitting themselves to the will of Allah.’ (4:65) Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) then said, ‘You must submit yourselves (to the command of Allah)”’

“I once heard abu ‘Abd Allah, Alayhi al-Salam, saying, ‘When the Holy Prophet, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, liberated Khaybar he left it in their hand for half. When fruits ripened he (the Messenger of Allah) delegated ‘Abd Allah ibn Rawahah who estimated the value and they came to the Holy Prophet, and said, ‘He has charged us more.’ He (the Messenger of Allah) sent someone to ask ‘Abd Allah if there was reason for which they complained. He replied, ‘I estimated and they can take or we take it.’ A Jewish man then said, ‘This is (justice) the fact upon which the skies and earth are maintained.’”
