he heard Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) say the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) has said, ‘Islam is to protect life, return the trust and make marriages lawful. Reward, however, comes from belief.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Perform six Rak‘at Salat (prayer) in Masjid of Mina’ in the original al-Sawma‘ah (the structure near the minaret). (Fatwa explains h 4-5 above)

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Brushing one’s teeth is of the Sunnah and moral discipline of the prophets.’”

“I asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), ‘Can a person weep during Salah (prayer)?’ The Imam replied, ‘It is a matter of great congratulations even if it (tears) is of the size of the head of a fly.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) has said, ‘The tripod of Islam consists of prayer, al-Zakat (charity) and al-Wilayah. No one of these can be considered correct without the other two.”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘You must not sit, between the two sajdah, placing your hips on your heels.’”

“We know men when we see them through the reality of faith and the reality of hypocrisy.”

“Once I asked Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) about a man who reads the Holy Quran but then he forgets, he reads again and forgets. Is it an offense? The Imam said, ‘No, it is not an offense.’”

"I asked Abu Al-Hasan (as) about a man who forgot the two Rak'ahs of the obligatory Tawaf and had already proceeded to Mina. He replied: 'He should return to the Maqam of Ibrahim (as) and perform them.'"

I went to Abī ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) and asked, “May I sacrifice myself for you! Should I go to (the Ziyārah of) the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.)?” Imam (a.s.) replied: O Abā Sa’īd! Yes! Go to (the Ziyārah of) the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.), son of the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.), the most blessed of the blessed ones, the most purified of the purified ones, and the most pious of the pious ones; for if you go to his Ziyārah, Allāh will register twenty-five Hajj for you. The above Ḥadīth has also been narrated to me through the following chain: Muḥammad ibn Ya’qūb (Al-Kulayni), from Muḥammad ibn Yaḥyā, from Muḥammad ibn Ḥusain ibn Abil Khaťťāb, from Muḥammad ibn Ismā’īl, from Sāliḥ ibn ‘Uqbah, from Abī Sa’īd Al-Madā`ini, from Abī ‘Abdillāh (a.s.).

Prophet (MGB) said, “There are three situations in which it is good to lie: when plotting in a war, when promising to your wife, and when interceding between two people to improve their relationship. There are three situations in which it is bad to tell the truth: in gossiping, in informing a man about his wife, and when denying some (bad) news.” The Prophet (MGB) added, “Associating with three groups of people will spoil the heart: associating with mean people, talking with women and associating with rich people.”

he heard Aba Abdillah عليه السلام saying: al-Mughira b. Sa’id used to lie purposely about my father and take the books of his [al-Baqir’s] companions – and his [Mughira’s] companions were under cover [indistinguishable] among the companions of my father – they would take the books from the companions of my father and send them to al-Mughira – so he used to interpolate into them Kufr [disbelief] and Zanadiqa [heresy] and attribute it to my father, then he would send them [the books] back to his companions and order them to establish them among the Shia, so whatever is in the books of the companions of my father – of Ghulu [exaggeration of the status of the ‘Aimma] – then that is what was interpolated by al-Mughira b. Sa’id in their books.

“I once heard abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), state this Hadith. ‘Ibn ‘Umar divorced his wife three times at the same place and time when she experienced Hayd (menses). He asked the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, and he commanded him to go back to his wife.’ I then said, ‘People say that he divorced only once when she experienced Hayd (menses).’ He (the Imam) asked, ‘What for, then, did he ask the Messenger of Allah if he was able to go back to her? They speak a lie. He divorced three times at the same place and time, then the Messenger of Allah commanded him to go back to her and then divorce her if he wanted or keep her if he so willed.’”

11 – Sahl b. Ziyād, Abū Saʿīd, al-Ādamī, al-Rāzī. He was very weak, corrupt in narration and religion. Aḥmad b. Muḥammad b. ʿĪsā al-Ashʿarī exiled him from Qum, declared barā’a from him, and forbade the people from listening to him and narrating from him. He narrates mursal narrations and depends on unknown people.

“Al-Qa’im (the one who will rise with Divine Authority) will rise and he will not be obliged to any one under any covenant, agreement or oath of allegiance.”

I heard al-Rida, peace be upon him, say: The Messenger of Allah, Allah’s blessings be upon him and his Family, said: May Allah curse the one who performs a sin or gives refuge to a sinner. I said: And what is the sin? He said: The one who murders.

“Abu al-Hassan ‘Alayhi al-Salam, once entered Makkah for al-Hajj al-Tamattu‘ (advantageous) in the night of ‘Arafah, performed Tawaf, came out of the state of Ihram and went in with a certain one of his slave-girls; then said Talbiyah for al-Hajj and went out.”

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about a man who dies and has not performed Hajjahta al-Islam and has not made any will about it if it can be carried out on his behalf. He (the Imam) said, ‘Yes, it is permissible.’”

“Nine imams are after al-Husayn bin Ali. The ninth one is al-Qa’im.”

“I once asked abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), about the day of al-Nahr (slaughtering the offering, 10th of Dhu al-Hajjah). He (the Imam) said, ‘It is three days in Mina’, but in the cities, it is only one Day.”
