“A person visiting the grave of Imam Husain (a.s.) near Euphrates is like a person who visits Allah near the Divine throne.”

I asked Abu `Abd Allah al-Sadiq (AS) to interpret the Word of Allah, the Mighty and High: The nature made by Allah is which He has made men. He (AS) said: “It is Divine Unity.”

The narrator asked Imam Muhammad Baqir (a.s.) who would be the first to enter Hell. He replied: Shaitaan, and to the left and the right of him will be one person each.

Abū Ja’far (Imam Bāqir (a.s.)) said: There are four thousand angels who are disheveled and covered with dust who cry over Ḥusain (a.s.) (and will continue to do so) until the Day of Judgment. These angels come to receive everyone who goes to the Ziyārah of Ḥusain (a.s.), accompany everyone who returns from his Ziyārah, visit them if they become ill, and attend their funerals when they die. The above Ḥadīth has also been narrated to me through the following chains: A) My father, from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad ibn ‘Isā, from Muḥammad ibn Ismā’īl ibn Bazī’, from Abī Ismā’īl Al-Sarrāj, from Yaḥyā ibn Mu’ammar Al-‘Aťťār, from Abī Basīr, from Abī Ja’far (a.s.). B) My father, from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Muḥammad ibn Ḥusain, from Mūsā ibn Sa’dān, from ‘Abdillāh ibn Qāsim, from ‘Umar ibn Abān, from Abī ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)).

There are six groups of people who do not deserve to be greeted. There are six people who do not deserve to lead the prayer and there are six acts which are those that the people of Lot did. Those who do not deserve to be greeted are: Jews; Christians;, chess players; backgammon players; alcoholics; people who play the Barbat and Tanbour ; those who joke around by swearing at each other’s mother; and poets. Those who do not deserve to lead prayers are: those who are born as a result of fornication; those who have abandoned the religion; those who emigrate from an Islamic environment; those who drink wine; those punished for violating Islamic decrees; and those who are not circumcised. And the following are things that the people of Lot did: shooting round bullets using a kind of sling ; chewing gum; walking with their clothes hanging out and running around with pride; and leaving their shirt’s unbuttoned (so that their chest is seen).”

“I once saw abu al-Hassan (a.s.), had used dye. I said, ‘I pray to Allah to keep my soul in service for your cause, I can see you have used dyes.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘Yes, readiness is of the matters that increases chastity of women and women neglect chastity because of their husband’s neglect of readiness.’ He (the Imam) then said, ‘Will you be happy to see her without readiness?’ I replied, ‘No, it does not make me happy.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘In the same way it will not make her happy to see you without readiness.’ He (the Imam) then said, ‘It is of the moral behavior of the prophets to maintain cleanliness, use perfumes, shave the hairs and going to bed with one’s wife very often.’ He (the Imam) then said, ‘Sulayman ibn Dawud, ‘Alayhima al-Salam, had one thousand women in one palace of whom three hundred were publicly known and seven hundred of them were secretly married. The Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, had the ability equal to forty men of going to bed with his wives, he (the Messenger of Allah) had nine wives and moved among them every night and day.”’

“I asked the meaning of this verse Wa maa kunta bijaanibit’ t’oori idh naadainaa from the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.s.).” The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) replied, “Two thousand years before the creation of man, the Almighty Allah wrote this verse on a dry leaf and hung it in the heaven and then gave a call, ‘O Ummah of Muhammad! My mercy precedes My anger. I grant you before you ask. I forgive you before you repent. If one of you meets Me and bears witness that there is no Lord except Me and that Muhammad is My servant and messenger I will make him enter Paradise through My mercy’.”

Everything in this book that is narrated from Al-Husayn ibn Abi Al-'Ala has been transmitted by me from my father - may Allah (swt) be pleased with him - from Sa'd ibn Abdullah, from Muhammad ibn Al-Husayn ibn Abi Al-Khattab, from Musa ibn Sa'dan, from Abdullah ibn Abi Al-Qasim, from Al-Husayn ibn Abi Al-'Ala Al-Khaffaf, the freed servant (mawla) of Banu Asad.

And whatever is narrated from Yaʿqub ibn Yazid, I have narrated it from my father and from Muhammad ibn Al-Hasan - may Allah (swt) be pleased with them - from Saʿd ibn Abdullah, and Abdullah ibn Jafar Al-Himyari, and Muhammad ibn Yahya Al-Aṭṭar, and Ahmad ibn Idris - may Allah (swt) be pleased with them - from Yaʿqub ibn Yazid.

And whatever is narrated from Muawiyah ibn Hakim, I have narrated it from my father and from Muhammad ibn Al-Hasan - may Allah (swt) be pleased with them - from Saʿd ibn Abdullah, from Muawiyah ibn Hakim. And I have also narrated it from Muhammad ibn Al-Hasan - may Allah (swt) be pleased with him - from Muhammad ibn Al-Hasan Al-Ṣaffar, from Muawiyah ibn Hakim.

And whatever is narrated from Abu Al-Jawzaʾ, I have narrated it from my father and from Muhammad ibn Al-Hasan - may Allah (swt) be pleased with them - from Saʿd ibn Abdullah, from Abu Al-Jawzaʾ Al-Munabbih ibn Abdullah. And I have also narrated it from Muhammad ibn Al-Hasan - may Allah (swt) be pleased with him - from Muhammad ibn Al-Hasan Al-Ṣaffar, from Abu Al-Jawzaʾ.

2. Imam Muhammad Baqir (a.s.) narrates that the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) said, “Do not be surprised with a person who murders excessively because his killer is with Allah who will never die.”

Everything in this book that is narrated from Al-Zuhri has been transmitted by me from my father - may Allah (swt) be pleased with him - from Sad ibn Abdullah, from Al-Qasim ibn Muhammad Al-Isfahani, from Sulayman ibn Dawud Al-Munqari, from Sufyan ibn Uyaynah, from Al-Zuhri - whose name is Muhammad ibn Muslim ibn Shihab - from Ali ibn Al-Husayn (peace be upon them both).

21. Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) says that a believer can surely intercede for his friend except a nasibi because even if all the prophets, messengers and honored angels intercede for a nasibi, their intercession will not be accepted.

Everything in this book that is narrated from Al-Fadl ibn Abdul Malik has been transmitted by me from my father - may Allah (swt) be pleased with him - from Sa'd ibn Abdullah, from Muhammad ibn Al-Husayn ibn Abi Al-Khattab, from Ja'far ibn Bashir, from Hammad ibn 'Uthman, from Al-Fadl ibn Abdul Malik, who was known as Abu Al-Abbas Al-Baqbaq Al-Kufi.

And whatever is narrated from Sadir Al-Ṣayrafi, I have narrated it from my father - may Allah (swt) be pleased with him - from Saʿd ibn Abdullah, from Muhammad ibn Al-Husayn ibn Abi Al-Khaṭṭab, from Al-Hakam ibn Miskin, from Amr ibn Abi Naṣr Al-Anmaṭi, from Sadir ibn Hakim ibn Ṣuhayb Al-Ṣayrafi, who was known by the kunyah Abu Al-Faḍl.

“Surely Allah honors a person aged seventy and grants modesty to a person aged seventy.”

I heard al-Ridha (a.s.) saying that The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.s.): “The Almighty Allah has cursed the one who causes something and one who hides him.” I asked: Who is that? He replied: One who kills.”

One who goes to meet a Muslim brother, the Almighty Allah will call out to him, ‘O one who is going for visiting! You have become pure and your reward is pure Paradise.”

“Abul Hassan Ar-Ridha’ (a.s.) looked at a man and said, ‘O Servant of God! Make a will regarding what you wish to be done after your death and prepare yourself for that from which there is no escape.’ Exactly what the Imam (a.s.) had said happened three days later (i.e. the man died).”
