Yes. He (MGB) has said that there will be twelve - as many as the Chiefs of Israel.’”

The Prophet (sw) heard a man say to the other: “May Allah make your face and the one who resembles you ugly!” So He (sw) said: “Wait a minute! Do not say this for verily Allah created Adam (AS) in His Image.” The Compiler of this book (RA) says: The anthropomorphists took out the first part of this tradition and said: Verily, Allah created Adam in His Image.”1 Hence, they went astray in this meaning and led others astray.

Shu`ba informed us. He said: Al-Hakam narrated to us. He said: I heard Ibn Abi Layla say: I met Ka`b b. `Ajra, so he said: Shall I not gift something to you? Surely, the Messenger of Allah (sw) came to us, so we said: O Messenger of Allah! You have taught us how to send peace (salaam) to you, but how do we send blessings to you? He said: Say: “O Allah! Bless Muhammad, just as you blessed Ibrahim. Surely, You are Majestic and Glorious. Send benedictions upon the Family of Muhammad, just as You sent benedictions upon the Family of Ibrahim. Surely, You are Majestic and Glorious.
(Allahumma salli `ala Muhammad kama sallayta `ala Ibrahim, innaka hamidun majid. Wa barik `ala aali Muhammad kama barakta `ala aali Ibrahim, innaka hamidun majid)”

“Once I wrote to the virtuous servant (a.s) saying that I had doubt and Ibrahim (a.s) had said, ‘Lord, show me how you will bring the dead to life?’ (2: 260) and I would love that you show me something. Thus, he (a.s) wrote back to me, ‘Ibrahim was a believer. He wanted to increase his belief. You, however, have doubt and there is nothing good in doubt.’ And he wrote, ‘Doubt comes when there is no certainty when certainty, comes then doubting is not permissible.’ He wrote further, ‘Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, has said, “We did not find many among them keeping their promises. However, We did find many evil-doers among them.” (7:102) The Imam said, ‘It was revealed about people who doubt.’”

“I went to see abu Ja‘far (a.s.) when he was in the city of al-Madina and I said to him, “I decided to make a vow and a covenant, while I was between the corner of the Ka‘ba and the place where Abraham had prayed, that when I would meet you I would not leave al-Madina until I would know with certainty that you are Al-Qa’im (the one who will rise with Divine Authority). The Imam (a.s.) did not say anything. I then stayed in the city of al-Madina for thirty days. One day he came face to face on a road. He said, “O al-Hakam, are you still here?” I said, “Yes, I am still here. I had explained to you about my vow and commitment and you did not command me anything or prohibited from anything nor did you answer me with anything.” The Imam (a.s.) then said, “Early tomorrow come to my house.” Next morning I went to see him and he said to me, “Ask what you need.” I said, “I have a commitment of vow, of fasting and paying charity. I had decided to fulfill it, while I was between the corner of the Ka‘ba and the station of Abraham. Its object was that when I would meet you I would not leave until I would know with certainty that you are Al-Qa’im (the one who will rise with Divine Authority) or not. If you would be him I would then maintain relations with you, otherwise, I would go in the land to find how to make a living.” The Imam (a.s.) said, “O Hakam, we all are Al-Qa’im (the one who will rise with Divine Authority) for the commands of Allah.” I then said, “Are you al-Mahdi?” He said, “We all guide to Allah.” I said, “Are you the owner of the sword?” He said, “We all are owners of the sword the heir of the sword.” I said, “Are the one who would do away with enemies of Allah, through whom honor will come to the friends of Allah and with whom the religion of Allah would stand supreme?” The Imam (a.s.) said, “O Hakam how could I be him. I have already become forty five years old while the master of this task would be much younger than me and much light for saddle of the horse.”

Al-Husayn ibn Ibrahim ibn Ahmad ibn Hisham al-Mu`addab (RA) said: Muhammad ibn Abu `Abd Allah al-Kufi said: Muhammad ibn Isma`il al-Barmaki said: Muhammad ibn `Abd alRahman al-Khazzaz al-Kufi said: Sulayman ibn Ja`far said: `Ali ibn al-Hakam said: Hisham ibn Salim said I was in the presence of Muhammad ibn al-Mu`man al-Ahwal, when a man stood up before him, and asked him, “How did you recognize your Lord?” He replied, “By means of His Direction, His Instruction, His Introduction, and His Guidance.” He says: I left his presence, and met with Hisham ibn al-Hakam, so I asked him, “What should I say to someone who asks me: how did you recognize your Lord?” Hisham relied, “If someone asked me: what did you recognize your Lord with? I would say: I recognized Allah, High be His Glory, though my own body as that is the thing which is the closest to me. Verily, my body is composed of assembled parts and formed of components which were created, the subject of intelligent design, and engineering. My body increases after decrease, and is reduced after enlargement. My body has different senses, like sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch, as well as different limbs. My body was created in weakness, deficiency and contempt. None of the sense can perceive the function of the other, nor do they have strength over others. They are incapable of attracting benefits to themselves and preventing harm to themselves. Wisdom dictates that it is impossible for something to be compiled without a compiler, and that it is impossible for an image to be made without an artist. Thus, I learned that my body has a Creator, and that my image was made by an Artist, Who is contrary to them from all dimensions. Allah, the Mighty and High, has said: And in your own souls (too); will you not then see.

Hadith.3221 - Abu Abdullah Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as) said: "The judges are four: three are in the Fire, and one is in Paradise. A man who judges unjustly while he knows is in the Fire. A man who judges unjustly while he does not know is in the Fire. A man who judges justly while he does not know is in the Fire. And a man who judges justly while he knows is in Paradise." Al-Sadiq (as) also said: "Judgment is of two kinds: the judgment of Allah (swt), the Mighty and Majestic, and the judgment of the people of ignorance. Whoever deviates from the judgment of Allah (swt), the Mighty and Majestic, has judged by the judgment of the people of ignorance. And whoever judges for two dirhams contrary to what Allah (swt), the Mighty and Majestic, has revealed has indeed disbelieved in Allah (swt), the Exalted."

I sent a letter with my servant Nafi’ to Jabir bin Samra asking him to tell me of something he had heard from the Prophet (S). He wrote to me: “I have heard the Prophet (S) saying on the eve of the Friday, in which al-Aslami has been stoned: “This religion is still prevailing until the Day of Resurrection or until twelve caliphs, who are all from Quraysh, will rule over the people.” The same was narrated by Abbad bin Ya’qoob from Hatam bin Issma’eel. Another one was narrated by Muhammad bin Abdullah bin al-Hakam from ibn Abu Fudayk from ibn Abu Thi’b from Muhajir bin Missmar.

“I wish I was permitted to talk to people three times (about three things) and then Allah might do to me whatever He liked. But it is the will of Allah that we are to be patient and to wait.” Then he recited this Qur’anic verse: “And most certainly you will come to know about it after a time” and then he recited, “And you shall certainly hear from those who have been given the Book before you and from those who are polytheists much annoying talk; and if you are patient and guard (against evil), surely this is one of the affairs (which should be) determined upon).”

We were sitting in a circle with `Abdullah b. Mas`ud when a Bedouin came and said: Which one of you is `Abdullah? `Abdullah b. Mas`ud said: I am `Abdullah. He said: Has your Prophet (s) ever told you how many caliphs would come after him? He said: Yes, twelve, like the number of chiefs of the Children of Israel.

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘A guest of good understanding does not fast an optional fast without permission from his host. An obedient wife does not fast an optional fast without permission and order from her husband. An obedient and disciplined slave does not fast an optional fast without permission and order by his master. Children with good and kind behavior do not fast an optional fast without permission and order from their parents; otherwise, a guest is ignorant, a woman disobedient, the slave a sinner and disobedient, and the child is an ignored one.”’

“A caliph, whom no one in the Heaven will forgive nor will he have any supporter on the earth, will be killed and another caliph, who will have no chance of getting forgiveness in the afterlife, will be deposed and then the son of the bondmaid will become the caliph.” Abut-Tufayl said (to Aslam): “O my nephew, I wish we would live in his time!” Aslam said: “O uncle, why do you wish so?” Abut-Tufayl said: “Because Huthayfa has told me that the rule will return to the Prophet’s family.”

The Messenger of Allah (s) said: No worshiper will have believed until I am more beloved to him than himself, and my family is more beloved to him than his family, and my progeny is more beloved to him than his progeny, and my essence is more beloved to him than his essence. He said: So, a man from the community said: O Aba `Abd al-Rahman! You did not stop from bringing this hadith by which Allah has enlivened our hearts.

“This son of mine is a master, as the Messenger of Allah named him a master. Allah will bring forth from his seed, a man with the name of your Apostle – who will be similar to him in his character as well as his looks – in a time of oblivion of the people and death of righteousness and manifestation of injustice. By Allah, if he should not rise, his neck will be struck. The dwellers of the heavens will rejoice his rise. He would fill up the earth with equity, as it will be replete with injustice and oppression.”

Muhammad b. Ya`qub al-Kulayni from `Ali b. Muhammad also known as `Alan from Muhammad al-Faraj al-Rakhji. He said: I wrote to Abi’l Hasan `Ali b. Muhammad b. `Ali b. Musa b. Ja`far b. Muhammad b. `Ali b. al-Husayn b. `Ali b. Abi Talib (as) asking him about what Hisham b. al-Hakam said regarding the body [of Allah] and what Hisham b. Salim said regarding the form. So, he (as) wrote: Leave the perplexity of the perplexed and seek refuge in Allah from Satan. The [correct] doctrine is not what the two Hishams have said.

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), said to me, ‘O ‘Abd al-Malik, how is it that I do not see you go to these places where the people of your town go?’ I then asked, ‘Which places do you mean?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘To Juddah, ‘Abadan, al-Massisah and Qazwin.’ I then said, ‘I wait for your cause to materialize and follow you.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘That by Allah is true. If there was anything good in it they could not arrive there before us.’ He (the narrator) has that he then said to him, ‘Al-Zaydiyah group says, ‘There is no difference between us and Ja‘far, except that he does not think Jihad is necessary.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘Do I not consider it necessary? By Allah, I do consider it necessary but I dislike leaving my knowledge in their ignorance.’”

the Messenger of Allah (swt) (peace be upon him and his family) said: "Among the etiquettes of a guest is that he does not fast voluntarily except with the host's permission. Among the obedience of a wife to her husband is that she does not fast voluntarily except with his permission and instruction. Among the righteousness and obedience of a servant to his master is that he does not fast voluntarily except with his master's permission. Among the dutifulness of a child to their parents is that they do not fast voluntarily except with their parents' permission and command. Otherwise, the guest would be ignorant, the wife disobedient, the servant corrupt and sinful, and the child undutiful." [chapte=CHAPTER 54 - CHAPTER ON GHUSL (RITUAL PURIFICATION) ON SPECIFIC NIGHTS IN THE MONTH OF RAMADAN, AND WHAT HAS BEEN NARRATED ABOUT THE LAST TEN NIGHTS AND THE NIGHT OF QADR] بَابُ الْغُسْلِ فِي اللَّيَالِي الْمَخْصُوصَةِ فِي شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ وَمَا جَاءَ فِي الْعَشْرِ الْأَوَاخِرِ وَفِي لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ H1ِ 2015 - رَوَى اَلْعَلاَءُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ أَحَدِهِمَا عَلَيْهِمَا اَلسَّلاَمُ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: «يُغْتَسَلُ فِي ثَلاَثِ لَيَالٍ مِنْ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ فِي تِسْعَ عَشْرَةَ وَ إِحْدَى وَ عِشْرِينَ وَ ثَلاَثٍ وَ عِشْرِينَ وَ أُصِيبَ أَمِيرُ اَلْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ فِي تِسْعَ عَشْرَةَ وَ قُبِضَ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ فِي إِحْدَى وَ عِشْرِينَ » قَالَ «وَ اَلْغُسْلُ فِي أَوَّلِ اَللَّيْلِ وَ هُوَ يُجْزِي إِلَى آخِرِهِ ». Hadith.2015 - Al-'Ala narrated from Muhammad ibn Muslim from one of the Imams (as) that he said: "One should perform the ritual bath (ghusl) on three nights in the Month of Ramadan: the nineteenth, the twenty-first, and the twenty-third. The Commander of the Faithful (as) was struck on the nineteenth and passed away on the twenty-first." Imam (as) added: "The ghusl should be performed at the beginning of the night, and it suffices until its end."

“I said to Imam Abu Abdullah as-Sadiq (as): “Someone has sent you his regards and requested you to intercede for him (on the Day of Resurrection).” Imam as-Sadiq (as) said: “Is he from our followers?” I said: “Yes, he is.” He said: “His matter is more important than that.” I said: “He has believed in Ali but he does not know any of the guardians after him.” He said: “He is astray.” I said: “He has believed in the imams but he has denied the last one of them.” He said: “He is like that who believes in Jesus Christ and denies Muhammad or believes in Muhammad and denies Jesus Christ. We pray Allah to protect us from denying any of His authorities.” Let one, who reads this tradition, be careful not to deny any one of the imams lest he will perish as if he has denied Muhammad or Jesus Christ (peace be upon them).

I heard the Prophet (sw) say, ‘There are ten signs before the Hour - five in the East and five in the West.’ He (sw) mentioned the Beast of the earth, the Dajjal, the rise of the sun from where it usually sets, the return of Jesus son of Mary (AS), Gog and Magog and the victory over them and their being drowned in the sea.’ He (sw) did not say the rest.”

in the debate with the atheist who asked abu ‘Abdallah (a.s.) (See Hadith Nos.225 - 6 and 297 -2). “Does Allah become pleased and displeased?” Abu ‘Abdallah (a.s.) replied, “Yes, but not like that which is found in His creatures. In His creatures the pleasure is a state (hal), which enters into him and changes him from one state to another. The creatures are hollow, active and compound with entrance in them. Nothing can enter into our Creator. Because He is One, a single self, a single meaning. His pleasure is His reward and His anger is His punishment without anything entering in Him to motivate and change Him from one state to another because these are of the attributes of His creatures who are weak and needy.”
