الحسن بن علي بن محمد

Abu Amr Uthman bin Saeed Amari, He was the first emissary during the period of occultation, who was appointed to this position by Imam Hadi and Imam Hasan Askari (a.s). He was a trusted elder of the society. His name was Abu Amr Uthman bin Saeed Amari, may Allah have mercy on him. He belonged to the Asadi tribe, but was named as Amari.

Indeed, when a believer dies, he will not be dead, for indeed, the (one to become) dead is the disbeliever. Indeed, Allah, Exalted and Glorious is He, says: «He brings out the living from the dead, and He brings out the dead from the living» (6:95). That means (that) the believer (is begotten) from the disbeliever, and the disbeliever (is begotten) from the believer.

I wrote to Abi Muhammad al-Hasan b. `Ali b. Muhammad b. `Ali b. Musa b. Ja`far b. Muhammad b. `Ali b. al-Husayn b. `Ali b. Abi Talib (as): “Why did Allah obligate fasting?” So, he answered in his response: “So that the rich may feel hunger and give to the poor.”

H 89 - I saw a writing of Sharif Ajal Razi Abul Hasan Muhammad bin Husain Musawi dated Sunday, 15th Mohurrum 331 A.H. in which he has mentioned the account of a long-lived man in Syria, who had crossed the age of 140 years. He says: I mounted my beast and went to him and found him after much endeavour. I met him near my house in Karkh and he was a wonder and had met Imam Hasan Askari (a.s), father of Imam Mahdi (a.s). Therefore he described the fine qualities of Imam (a.s). A wonder that was seen is an incident, which he has written in his own handwriting.

Prophet (MGB) said, “Friday day and night is twenty-four hours. The Honorable the Exalted God frees six-hundred thousand sinners from the Fire of Hell each hour on Friday.”

I was with the Messenger of Allah (sw) and he said to me, “O Mu`adh! Do you know what is the right of Allah, the Mighty and High, upon His Servants?”, repeating it three times. I answered,” Allah and His Messenger know best.” The Messenger of Allah said: “The right of Allah, the Mighty and High, upon His Servants is that they should not associate anything with Him.” After that he asked, “Do you know what the right of the servants is upon Allah, the Mighty and High, when they respect His Right?” I answered, “Allah and His Messenger know best.” He (sw) said: “That He should not chastise them.” Or he (sw) said: “That He should not place them in Hell.”

Of the proofs proving the Imamate of the Master of the Age and that his occultation is not an impossible phenomenon, are narrations of the two distinct denominations: Ahle Sunnat and Imamiyyah: that the Imams after the Prophet (s) are twelve - not more, not less. When this is proved, anyone who is certain of this, will be certain of the Imamate of the Twelve Imams. We profess their Imamate and believe in the existence of Ibn Hasan and his occultation, because anyone who disagrees with the Imamiyah, on anyone of these Imams, their Imams do not remain on this number, but rather, increase. When this specific number is proved through the narrations we will present, our objective will be proved. On the basis of this we have mentioned some of these reports and about the remaining we give the concerned reference so that this book may not be prolonged inordinately, if Allah wills.

he (a.s.) heard God’s Prophet (S) say, “On the Night of the Journey when my Lord caused my Ascension, I saw an angel in the midst of the Throne holding a sword of light with which he played just as Ali ibn Abi Talib (a.s.) played with his sword - the Zil-Faqar. I saw that whenever the angels were eager to see the face of Ali ibn Abi Talib (a.s.), they looked at that angel. I asked, O my Lord! Is this my cousin Ali ibn Abi Talib? The Lord replied, “O Muhammad! This is an angel whom I have created like Ali. He is busy worshipping Me in the midst of the Throne. All the reward for his good deeds, glorifications and sanctifications are recorded for Ali ibn Abi Talib (a.s.) all the way up until the Resurrection Day.”

I went to Paradise and saw that the following was written in gold on the gate, ‘La illaha illalah Muhammadan habibullah Alian valiullah Fatimah Ummatal al-Hassan val-hussein safvatallah ala mobqazayahum la’natallah.’ ”

“God’s Prophet (MGB) gave me seven pieces of advice. The Prophet (MGB) advised me to always consider the situation of the people who are in an inferior position than I am. The Prophet (MGB) advised me never to consider the position of those who are in a better position than I am. The Prophet (MGB) advised me to like the poor and associate with them. The Prophet (MGB) advised me to tell the truth even though it may be unpleasant. The Prophet (MGB) advised me to visit my relations of kin, even if they may have cut off relations with me. The Prophet (MGB) advised me not to fear the blame of those who blame me for the sake of God. The Prophet (MGB) advised me to say ‘There is no power nor any strength save in God the Sublime the Great’ often as it is one of the treasures of Paradise.”

When the Honorable the Exalted God created Paradise, He created it from the Light of the Throne. Then God took some of that Light and spread it. I received one-third of that Light. One-third of it reached Fatimah (MGB). One-third reached Ali (MGB) and the members of his household (MGB). Whoever is touched by this Light shall fall in love with the Household of Muhammad. Whoever is untouched by this Light is in darkness being outside the friendship of the Household of Muhammad.”

A man stood up in the presence of (`Ali) al-Rida (AS) and said to him: “O son of the Messenger of Allah! Describe your Lord for us as there are some people who differ with us.” Hence, al-Rida (AS) said: Verily, he who describes his Lord by analogy is still ambiguous in the world. He is straying from the straight path. He is transient in the deviation (from that which is right). He is lead astray from the way. And he says things that are not proper. I am describing Him the way He described Himself, without relying on images. It is possible to describe Him without recurring to anthropomorphism. He is Close in His Farness, and is without an equivalent. He cannot be compared to His Creation. He does not oppress anyone in His Judgment. The creation is critical of what they know. And they pursue what He has embedded in His Book. He is Aware of everything they do. They do not intend anyone but Him. He is Near, but He is not attached. He is Far, but not cut off. He is Ascertained, ut is not exemplified. He is United, and not divided into parts. He is Known by His Signs, and is proved by His Symbols. Hence, there is no god but He, the Great, and the Most High.

I am God. There is no god but Me. Whoever confesses to My Unity will enter My Stronghold. And whoever enters My Stronghold is secure from My punishment.”

«Allah is He to whom it is sought refuge at the occasions of needs and hardships by every creature when hope is broken from all besides Him, and means are disconnected from everything except Him. You say: Bism-il-Laah, meaning: I seek assistance upon all my matters from Allah, whom servitude is not right except to Him, the Succorer if He is appealed for succor, and the Responder if He is called upon. It is what a man said to al-Sadiq, peace be upon him: O son of Allah’s Messenger, guide me to Allah, what is He? For indeed, the polemicists have given me abundantly and confused me. Then he said to him: O servant of Allah, have you ever boarded a ship? He said: Yes. He said: Then, has it broken with you to the extent that no ship could save you, nor could swimming be sufficient for you? He said: Yes. He said: Then, did it, therein, connect to your heart that there is a thing among things that is able to save you from your hazard? He said: Yes. Al-Sadiq, peace be upon him, said: Then, that Thing is Allah, the One Able to rescue when there is no rescuer, and to succor when there is no succorer.

“Abu Sahl Ismail bin Ali Naubakhti told me that Imam M-H-M-D bin Imam Hasan Askari (a.s) was born in Samarrah in 256 A.H. His mother was Saiqal; his patronymic is Abul Qasim and the Messenger of Allah (s) had mentioned the same patronymic and said: His name will be same as mine, his patronymic will be same as mine and his title will be Mahdi. He will be the Divine Proof, the Awaited one and the Master of the Age. Ismail bin Ali further says: When Imam Hasan Askari (a.s) was in his fatal illness, I was present with him. He summoned his servant, Aqeed, who was a Nubian black. Prior to this he was in the employ of Imam Ali Naqi (a.s). It was he that had brought up Imam Hasan Askari (a.s). Imam (a.s) told him: “O Aqeed, boil for me some mastic water.” Aqeed obeyed and after the water was procured, Saiqal, the mother of Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) brought it to His Eminence. His Eminence took hold of the vessel, but his hands shook so much that the bowl clattered against his teeth. The Imam let go of the vessel and said to Aqeed: “Go inside the house where you will find a boy in prostration. Bring him to me.” Abu Sahl says: Aqeed said: When I went inside to bring that boy I saw that the boy was in prostration and had raised his index finger to the sky. I saluted him. He shortened his Prayer. I said respectfully: “The master has called you.” At that moment his mother arrived and taking his hand brought him to his father. Abu Sahl says: When the boy came to His Eminence, he saluted him. I saw that his face was glowing like a pearl; he had short hair and wide teeth. When the eyes of Imam Hasan Askari (a.s) fell on him, he wept and said: “O master of my family, give me this water, so that I may proceed to my Lord.” The young master complied and taking up the bowl of mastic water brought it to the lips of his father, so that he may drink it. Imam Hasan Askari (a.s) said: “Prepare me for the ritual prayer.” That child kept a towel before the Imam and made ablution for him by washing his face and hands in turn. Then he rubbed his head and both feet. The Imam said: “My son, I give you glad tidings that you are the Master of the Time and the Proof of Allah on the earth. You are my son and successor. You are born from me and you are M-H-M-D the son of Hasan son of Ali son of Muhammad son of Ali son of Musa son of Ja’far son of Muhammad son of Ali son of Husain son of Ali Ibn Abi Talib (a.s) and you are from the progeny of the Holy Prophet (s) and the last of the Purified Imams (a.s). And the Messenger of Allah (s) gave glad tidings about you and informed about your name and patronymic. This was told to me by my father from his purified forefathers – blessings of Allah be on Ahle Bayt. Indeed our Lord alone is worthy of praise and glorification.” Imam Hasan bin Ali Askari (a.s) spoke these sentences and passed away at that very moment. May Allah bless them all.

The Messenger of Allah (sw) said to some of his companions one day: O servant of Allah, love for the sake of Allah, hate for the sake of Allah, befriend for the sake of Allah and antagonize for the sake of Allah, for indeed, you will not attain the Guardianship of Allah except by that. A man will not find the taste of faith, even if his prayers and fasting are much, until he is like that. The fraternity between people on this day of yours has mostly become for the sake of this world, for whose sake they are affection, and for whose sake they hate. That will not avail them from Allah at all. Then the man said: O Messenger of Allah, and how can I know that I have befriended and antagonized for the sake of Allah? And who is the Ally of Allah, Exalted and Glorious is He, that I may befriend him? And who is His enemy that I may antagonize him? The Messenger of Allah, Allah’s blessings be upon him and his Family, then pointed for him towards Ali, peace be upon him, and said: Do you see him? He said: Sure. He said: The ally of him is an ally of Allah, so befriend him, and the enemy of him is the enemy of Allah, so antagonize him. Moreover, befriend the ally of him, even if he was to be the killer of your father and sons, and antagonize the enemy of him, even if he was to be your father and son

Prophet (sw) said, “What I love the most in this world are women and perfume. And praying lights up my eyes.”[1]

one day God’s Prophet (s) told one of his companions, “O servant of God! Love for the sake of God and hate for the sake of God. Be friends for the sake of God and be enemies for the sake of God. That is because you cannot achieve God’s Mastery over you in any other way. No one will experience the true feeling of faith unless he does so - even if he prays and fasts a lot. Nowadays, most of the friendships and animosities of the worldlings are for the sake of this world. They like each other for it and they hate each other for it. However, this will not benefit them.” That man asked, “How could I tell whether my liking and my animosity are for the sake of God or not? Who is God’s Friend so that I may be friends with him. Who are God’s enemies so that I may be their enemy?” God’s Prophet (s) then pointed at Ali (s) and said, “Do you see him?” The man said, “Yes.” The Prophet (s) said, “This is God’s Friend! Whoever loves him is God’s friend and whoever is his enemy is God’s enemy. Therefore, love Ali (s). Be the enemy of Ali’s enemies and be the friend of Ali’s friends. Be the friend of Ali’s friend - even if Ali’s friend may have killed your father or your son. Be the enemy of Ali’s enemy - even if he may be your father or your son.”

The Messenger of Allah (s) said to one of his companions that day: O `Abdullah! Love in the way of Allah, hate in the way of Allah, befriend in the way of Allah, and oppose in the way of Allah, for the wilaya of Allah is only achieved through this. A man cannot taste faith, even if he increases his prayer and his fasting, until he does all this. In this day and age, the people are brotherly over this world – they love one another over it, and they hate one another over it; yet it will not make them free of the need for Allah. So, it was said to him: How will I know that I have befriended and opposed in the way of Allah? Who is the friend of Allah, so that I may befriend him; and who is His enemy, so that I may oppose him? So, the Messenger of Allah (s) pointed to `Ali (as) for him and said: Do you see this? So, he said: Of course. He said: His friend is the friend of Allah, so befriend him. His enemy is the enemy of Allah, so oppose him. Befriend his friend, even if he killed your father and your son; and oppose his enemy, even if he is your father or your son.

Prophet (s) said to one of his companions: You, O Abdullah, should love, hate, support, and antagonize-all for the sake of Allah. You cannot gain the loyalty to Allah except through this way. A man cannot find the taste of faith, no matter how many his prayers and days of fasting are, unless he follows so. Unfortunately, these days, people are fraternizing with each other on the bases of the worldly benefits. Likewise, they love each other and hate each other for the same reason. This will in no means benefit them in the sight of Allah. The man asked: How can I know whether my support or antagonism was for the sake of Allah? Who is the disciple of Allah so that I will support him, and who is the enemy of Allah so that I will antagonize him?” The Prophet (s) pointed to Ali (a) and said: Do you see this one? The man said: Yes, I do. He (s) said: The supporter of this one is surely the disciple of Allah; therefore, you should support him. The enemy of this one is surely the enemy of Allah; therefore, you should antagonize him. You should support him whoever supports this man, –Ali- even if he is the killer of your father and sons. You should antagonize him whoever antagonizes this man, even if he was your father or your sons.
