"O son of the Messenger of Allah (swt), which spot is this?" Imam (as) replied: "It is in the land of Tus. By Allah (swt), it is a garden from the gardens of Paradise. Whoever visits me in that spot will be as if they have visited the Messenger of Allah (swt), peace be upon him and his family. Allah (swt), Blessed and Exalted, will write for them the reward of one thousand accepted Hajj and one thousand accepted Umrah. I and my forefathers will be their intercessors on the Day of Judgment."

The Prophet, Allah’s blessings be upon him and his Family, said: Indeed, Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, surely hates the weak believer who has no opinion. He also said: He is the one who does not forbid evil. I have found in the writing of al-Barqi, may Allah grant him mercy, that opinion refers to intellect, and hence, the meaning of the report is that Allah, Exalted and Glorious is He, hates the one who has no intellect. Some people have said: He, Exalted and Glorious is He, hates the weak believer who has no anus, and that he is the one who does not refrain from passing wind in every place. The first is more correct.

I said to Abu Ja’far, peace be upon him. The saying of Allah, Exalted and Glorious is He: «Due to that, We prescribed upon the sons of Isra’eel that whoever kills a life without (retaliation for) another life, or due to (the causing of) corruption on earth, it is as if he has killed all people» (5:32) whereas one only kills one? He said: He will placed in a spot of Hell to which ends the utmost severity of the torment of its people if one was to kill all people. He will then only enter that place. If he had killed one, he would only enter that place. I said: And if he kills another? He said: It shall be doubled upon him.

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the case of an orphan who has read the Quran, his understanding is proper and his assets are in the hands of a man who wants to work using those assets in business in the manner of profit sharing ( al-Mudarabah ) to which the boy has agreed. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not proper to use it in business until he experiences wet-dream, then hands over his assets to him. If he experiences wet-dream and does not have proper understanding, nothing must be given to him forever.’” Humayd has narrated from al-Hassan ibn Ja‘far ibn Sama‘ah from Dawud ibn Sarhan from abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), a similar Hadith.

“In al-Madinah there was a man with us, called abu al-Qamqa’m who was unfortunate. He went to abu al-Hassan (a.s.), and complained before him against his condition and informed him (the Imam) that wherever he goes for something he fails. Abu al-Hassan (a.s.), said, ‘In your last prayer in the morning, say, ‘Free of all defect is Allah, most Great. I ask forgiveness from Allah and plead before Him for help through His generosity’, ten times.’ Abu Qamqa’m has said, ‘I kept doing it and after very little time a people from village came to me and told me that a man from my people has died and there no heir is found for him except me. I went with them and received his legacy which made me rich.’”

Everything in this book that is narrated from Ali ibn Ja'far has been transmitted by me from my father - may Allah (swt) be pleased with him - from Muhammad ibn Yahya Al-Attar, from Al-Umraki ibn Ali Al-Bawfaki, from Ali ibn Ja'far, from his brother Musa ibn Ja'far, peace be upon them both. I have also narrated it from Muhammad ibn Al-Hasan ibn Ahmad ibn Al-Walid - may Allah (swt) be pleased with him - from Muhammad ibn Al-Hasan Al-Saffar and Sa'd ibn Abdullah together, from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Isa and Al-Fadl ibn Amir, from Musa ibn Al-Qasim Al-Bajali, from Ali ibn Ja'far, from his brother Musa ibn Ja'far, peace be upon them both. Likewise, the entire book of Ali ibn Ja'far, peace be upon him, I have narrated with this chain of transmission.

Everything in this book that is narrated from Ubaydullah ibn Ali Al-Halabi has been transmitted by me from my father and from Muhammad ibn Al-Hasan - may Allah (swt) be pleased with them both - from Sa'd ibn Abdullah and Al-Himyari together, from Ahmad and Abdullah, the sons of Muhammad ibn 'Isa, from Muhammad ibn Abi 'Umayr, from Hammad ibn 'Uthman, from Ubaydullah ibn Ali Al-Halabi. I have also narrated it from my father, from Muhammad ibn Al-Hasan, and from Ja'far ibn Muhammad ibn Masrur - may Allah (swt) be pleased with them all - from Al-Husayn ibn Muhammad ibn 'Amir, from his uncle Abdullah ibn 'Amir, from Muhammad ibn Abi 'Umayr, from Hammad ibn 'Uthman, from Ubaydullah ibn Ali Al-Halabi.

“The brother of Romiy ibn ‘Umar made a will that said, ‘All of his assets must be given to abu Ja‘far (a.s.) . ’ ‘Amr has said that Romi narrated to me saying, ‘I placed the assets before abu Ja‘far (a.s.), and said, “This is what my brother has given to you in his will” and I began to read it for him.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘Wait; take this, I have given it to you as a gift and deliver that.’ I continued until the end of the will and found that he (the Imam) had taken only one-third. I then asked, ‘Have you commanded me to deliver to you one-third and keep two-thirds?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘Yes, that it is correct.’ I then asked, ‘Can I sell them and bring them to you?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘No, whenever possible for you do not sell anything.’”

When a person reaches the age of forty, Allah keeps him safe from three diseases like insanity, leprosy and white spots. When he reaches the age of fifty, Allah curtails his accounting. When he reaches the age of sixty, Allah makes him return to Himself. When he reaches the age of seventy, the people of heavens start loving him. When he reaches the age of eighty, Allah orders that his good deeds be written down and sins not be written. When he reaches the age of ninety, Allah, the Mighty and Sublime forgives his past and present sins and writes him as a prisoner of Allah on His earth.”

I went to Abī ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) and asked, “May I sacrifice myself for you! Should I go to (the Ziyārah of) the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.)?” Imam (a.s.) replied: O Abā Sa’īd! Yes! Go to (the Ziyārah of) the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.), son of the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.), the most blessed of the blessed ones, the most purified of the purified ones, and the most pious of the pious ones; for if you go to his Ziyārah, Allāh will register twenty-five Hajj for you. The above Ḥadīth has also been narrated to me through the following chain: Muḥammad ibn Ya’qūb (Al-Kulayni), from Muḥammad ibn Yaḥyā, from Muḥammad ibn Ḥusain ibn Abil Khaťťāb, from Muḥammad ibn Ismā’īl, from Sāliḥ ibn ‘Uqbah, from Abī Sa’īd Al-Madā`ini, from Abī ‘Abdillāh (a.s.).

“I heard abu Ja’far (a.s.) say, “O Thabit, Allah, the Most Holy, the Most High, had set up a time limit for it in the year seventy but when al-Husayn (a.s.) was murdered Allah’s anger became more intense on the people on earth. He delayed it until one hundred forty. When then spoke to you about it and you publicized this hadith and disclosed the secret. Allah thereafter has not set up a time limit for it available with us. Allah deletes whatever He wants and establishes whatever He wants, with Him is the original book. Abu Hamza has said, “I narrated the above Hadith to abu ‘Abdallah (a.s.) and he said, “It was as you said.”

I had not heard the wailing of the jinn since the Prophet (sw) was taken until this night and I didn’t see it except due to what has afflicted my son. She said: A jinniyyah (female jinn) from among them came saying: ‘O eye! Now shed tears strenuously, for who shall weep over the martyrs after me over a clan whom death is leading, towards a despot in the kingdom of a slave’.

People will pass through the Path in different ranks. The Path is thinner than a hair and sharper than a sword. Some will pass through it like lightning, some will pass through it galloping, some will pass through it walking, and some will pass through it crawling. Some will pass through it hanging, and the Fire will overtake part of him and leave part of him.

Abu Ja’far Muhammad Ibn Uthman Amari had a number of books. He had written them on the subject of jurisprudence on the basis of his learning from Abu Muhammad Hasan (a.s) and the Patron (a.s) and from his father, Uthman Ibn Saeed, who had procured his knowledge from Abu Muhammad and from Ali Ibn Muhammad (a.s). They included books titled: The Books of Drinks. Kabira, mother of Kulthum, daughter of Abu Ja’far mentioned that the books reached Abul Qasim Husain Ibn Rauh at the time of the final will to him and remained in his possession. Abu Nasr says: I suspect she said that they reached Abul Hasan Saymooria afterwards.

Abu Abdillah Ja’far ibn Muhammad al-Sadiq, peace be upon him, said: "May I not inform you about the most important duty Allah has imposed upon His creation?" I said: "Please do." He said: "To treat people justly, equal to yourself, and to grant preference to your brother; and to remember Allah in every situation. And by remembering, I do not mean chanting: ’Glory be to Allah’ and ’Praise be to Allah’ and ’There is no god but Allah’ and ’Allah is great’, altogether it is a part of remembering. But to remember Allah in every situation means to be invincible in matter of obedience to Allah or sinning against Him."

I entered into the presence of Abu `Abd Allah al-Sadiq (AS) so he asked me: “Can you describe Allah?” Hence, I replied, “Yes.” He (AS) said: “Give me your description.” So, I answered, “He is the All-Hearing and the All-Seeing.” He (AS) explained, “There are attributes which equally apply to the created.” I asked, “Then how do you describe Him?” Thus, he (AS) said: “He is Light as there is no darkness in Him. He is Ever-Living as there is no death in Him. He is the Omniscient as there is no ignorance in Him, and He is the Truth as there is no false in Him.” Then I left from his presence and I was the most learned of people with regard to Divine Unity.

On the Day when there shall be a severe affliction.” He (AS) lifted the clothing that covered his shin, placed his hand on his head, and said: “Glory be to my Lord, the Most High!” The Compiler of this book says; The meaning of his (AS) statement “Glory be to my Lord, the Most High” is that Allah, the Mighty and High, is far Exalted form having human attributes like a shin.

There are three ranks, three expiations, three noxious things and three saving things. As for the ranks, they are to spread peace, to feed with food and to pray at night while people are asleep. As for the expiations, they are to properly perform Wudu during cold mornings, to walk during night and day to congregations and to maintain prayers. As for the noxious things, they are to obey avarice, follow desire and an individual’s admiration of himself. As for the saving things, they are to fear Allah in secret and public, to be economic during wealth and poverty and to say the word of justice during satisfaction and anger.

One who looks after an ‘Ateeq horse’ his three sins will be forgiven daily. He will be given twenty one rewards. One who looks after a ‘Hajin horse’ his two sins will be wiped off daily and he will be given seven rewards. One who keeps a Birzaun horse for his use and for protection against enemy, a sin will be wiped off daily for him and he will be granted six rewards.

“Do you know from where this stench is coming which is troubling you so much?” People will reply, “We don’t know from where it is coming but we know that it is very suffocating indeed.” They will be told, “This is the smell of the genitals of adulterers. Those who committed adultery and passed away from the world without repenting. May Allah’s curse be upon them. You all should curse them.” Each and everyone gathered over there will say, “May Allah’s curse be upon them.”
