hadith 514

14. It is narrated from him (narrator of the above Hadith) from Safwan from Jarud ibn al-Mundhir who has said the following

“I heard abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), say, ‘When the soul of one of you reaches here’ - pointing to his throat - ‘his eyes become delightful.’”

14ـ وَعَنْهُ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ عَنْ جَارُودِ بْنِ الْمُنْذِرِ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) يَقُولُ إِذَا بَلَغَتْ نَفْسُ أَحَدِكُمْ هَذِهِ وَأَوْمَأَ بِيَدِهِ إِلَى حَلْقِهِ قَرَّتْ عَيْنُهُ.

1. [1/258] Rijal al-Kashshi: Ibrahim b. Muhammad al-Khatli from Ahmad b. Idris al-Qummi from Muhammad b. Ahmad from al-Hasan b. Ali al-Kufi from al-Abbas b. A’mir from Sayf b. Umayra from Jarud b. al-Mundhir from Abi Abdillah عليه السلام who said

No Hashimite woman who was with us combed her hair or applied dye [colouring] to it – until al-Mukhtar sent to us the heads of those who killed al-Husayn عليه السلام.

[1/258] رجال الكشي: إبراهيم بن محمد الختلي، عن أحمد بن إدريس القمي، عن محمد بن أحمد، عن الحسن بن علي الكوفي، عن العباس بن عامر، عن سيف بن عميرة، عن جارود بن المنذر، عن أبي عبد الله عليه السلام قال

ما امتشطت فينا هاشمية و لا اختضبت حتى بعث إلينا المختار برءوس الذين قتلوا الحسين عليه السلام

23. With the first chain of narration from ‘Ali ibn Mahzyar, (from al-Hasan ibnAli ibn Faddhal), from ‘Ali ibn Uqba, from Jarood ibn al-Mandhar, who said

I heard Abu Abdillah Ja’far ibn Muhammad, peace be upon him say: ’The most difficult performance are three: to maintain justice and equity between yourself and the people, so that you may not prefer for yourself anything from the people, till you have preferred the same for the people to have from you; to make your (needy) brother an equal partner in your wealth; and to remember Allah in all situations. And that is not just to say: ’Glory be to Allah,’ ’Praise be to Allah,’ ’there is no God but Allah,’ or ’Allah is Great.’ Rather, when anything comes your way, which Allah has forbidden, you refrain from it."

23 - وبالإسناد الأول عن علي بن مهزيار، [عن الحسن بن علي بن فضال] عن علي بن عقبة، عن جارود بن المنذر قال

سمعت أبا عبد الله جعفر بن محمد عليهما السلام يقول: أشد الأعمال ثلاثة: إنصافك الناس من نفسك حتى لا ترضى لها بشئ منهم إلا رضيت لهم منها مثله، ومؤاساتك الأخ في المال، وذكر الله على كل حال، [و] ليس أن تقول: سبحان الله والحمد لله ولا إله إلا الله والله أكبر فقط، ولكن إذا ورد عليك شئ نهى الله عنه تركته .
