Now then, Egypt has, been conquered and Muḥammad ibn Abī Bakr, may Allāh have mercy on him, has been martyred. We seek his reward from Allāh. He was a son who was a well-wisher, a hard worker, a sharp sword and a bastion of defence. I had roused the people to join him and ordered them to reach him to help before this incident. I called to them secretly as well as openly repeatedly. Some of them came half-heartedly, some put up false excuses and some sat away leaving me.

“I once wrote to abu al-Hassan (a.s.), saying, ‘I have avoided praying for a son for five years because my wife dislikes it and says that bringing up a child is very difficult because of lack of resources.’ He (the Imam) (a.s.), wrote to me, ‘Ask for them (children): Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, will grant them sustenance.’”

I asked Imam (as) about a man who rented a donkey and went to cloth merchants, bought a garment from them, and left the donkey with them. Imam (as) said: "The donkey should be returned to its owner, and the one who took the garment should be pursued. However, there is no cutting (of the hand) upon him because this is an act of betrayal, not theft."

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) has said, ‘Allah, the Most Blessed, the Most High, grants good rewards to a person of excellent moral behavior as He grants rewards to one who strives hard (does Jihad) in the way of Allah, mornings and evenings.’”

“I once went to visit abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), and I saw three green pigeons on his furnishing which had made droppings on the furnishings and I said, ‘I pray to Allah to keep my soul in service for your cause, these pigeons have dirtied the furnishings.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘No, it is preferable that they stay inside the house.’”

he asked Imam abu ‘Abdallah (a.s.) about the meaning of the words of Allah: “For every nation there is a guide.” (13:7) The Imam (a.s.) said that every Imam is the guide in his own time.”

“Once abu Ja’far (a.s.) said, ‘Those who have mixed good deeds with bad deeds’ are a believing people. They create in their belief such things, due to sins, that believing people censure and dislike. They are as such that perhaps Allah may accept their repentance.’”

‘The Rasool Allah (saww) never used to cure himself (saww) from the flu, and would say: ‘There is no one except that he has a vein from the leprosy, so if he is struck by the flu, it suppresses it’.

“I once asked Abu `Abd Allah (a.s.), about the case of a doubtful day. He (the Imam) said, ’Fast on such day, if it is of al-Sha £ ban, it is optional and if it is of the month of Ramadan then it is a day in which you have a fortunate chance.’”

"Ja'da bint al-Ash‘ath ibn Qays al-Kindi poisoned al-Hassan ibn Ali (a.s.) and a female servant of the Imam (a.s.). The female servant, however, vomited the poison, but in the case of al-Hassan (a.s.) the poison remained in his digestive system and caused swelling that killed him.”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘When a man becomes an apostate (turns away from Islam), his wife becomes a stranger to him, like an irrevocably divorced woman. If he is killed or dies, before completion of ‘Iddah (waiting period), she inherits during her ‘Iddah. He does not inherit her if she dies when he turns away from Islam.’”

6-40 Muhammad ibn Ahmad al-Baghdady has narrated that Ahmad ibn al-Fazl al-Ahwazi quoted Bakr ibn Ahmad al-Qasri, on the authority of Abu Ahmad Ja’far ibn Muhammad ibn Abdullah ibn Musa, (on the authority of his father), that his father Musa (Al-Kadhim (MGB)), narrated a similar narration on the authority of his father Ja’far ibn Muhammad (MGB).

The Prophet (MGB) has passed away.’ The two Jewish men praised God for hearing the news of the death of the Prophet. Then they asked, ‘Each Prophet (MGB) has a Trustee whom is in charge of religious duties after him. Which one of you is his Trustee?’ The Emigrants (Muhajerin) and their Helpers (Ansar) all faced Abu Bakr and said, ‘He is his Trustee.’ The Jewish men told Abu Bakr, ‘We will ask you some questions which should be asked from the Trustees. Please respond to them if you are the Trustee.’ Abu Bakr said, ‘Fine. Go ahead and ask. God willing I will respond.’ One ofthem asked, ‘What are you and I considered to be before the Honorable the Exalted God? What is the living creature which was placed in another living creature without there being any ties of kinship between them? Which grave was the one which took what it contained on a trip? From where does the Sun rise? To where does the Sun set? Where was that place upon which the Sun shone only once and never again? Where is Paradise? Where is Hell? Does your God carry loads or does He become loaded? To which direction does your God face? Who are the two things that are always present? What are the two things that are always absent? What are the two things which cannot both be at once? Who is the one? Who are the two? What are the three? What are the four? What are the five? What are the six? What are the seven? What are the eight? What are the nine? What are the ten? What are the eleven? What are the twelve? What are the twenty? What are the thirty? What are the forty? What are the fifty? What are the sixty? What are the seventy? What are the eighty? What are the ninety? What are the one-hundred?’”Ibn Abbas added, “Abu Bakr could not answer. We became frightened that the people might turn away from the religion. I went to see Ali ibn Abi Talib (MGB) and told him, ‘O Ali! Some of the Jewish chiefs have come to Medina. They met Abu Bakr and asked him some questions, but Abu Bakr was unable to respond.’ Ali (MGB) smiled and said, ‘This is the day which the Prophet of God (MGB) had foretold.’ Then Ali (MGB) walked ahead of me just as the Prophet (MGB) did and sat in the Prophet’s place. He requested the two Jewish men, ‘Come to me and present to me the questions which you asked this old man.’ The two Jews asked, ‘Who are you?’ He (MGB) replied, ‘I am Ali Ibn Abi Talib - the brother of the Prophet (MGB), the husband of Fatimah, the father of Hassan and Hussein, the Prophet’s Trustee in all issues, and the one who knows all of the Prophet’s secrets.’ One of the two Jews asked, ‘What are you and I considered to be before the Honorable the Exalted God?’ Ali (MGB) replied, ‘I have been a believer since I have known myself, and you have been an unbeliever since you have known yourself. I do not know about your destiny in the future.’

Hadith.1189 - Abu Bakr ibn Abi Samal who said: "I prayed behind Abu Abdullah (as) for Fajr (dawn prayer). When he finished the recitation in the second rak'ah, he raised his voice slightly as if reciting and said: Allahumma ighfir lana wa irhamna wa ‘afina wa ‘u‘fu ‘anna fi ad-dunya wa al-akhirah. Innaka ‘ala kulli shay’in qadeer 'O’ Allah (swt), forgive us, have mercy on us, grant us well-being, and pardon us in this world and the Hereafter. Truly, You have power over all things.'".

Prophet, peace be upon him and his progeny, said: "Listen and obey those whom Allah has granted the authority - for that is the system of Islam."

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Count of the month of al-Sha‘ban twenty nine days; if it is cloudy then fast, but if it is clear and you looked but did not see anything, you can remain without fasting.’”

"If a man swears that he will not rub his nose against a wall, Allah (swt), the Exalted, will test him until he rubs his nose against the wall. And if a man swears that he will not strike his head against the wall, Allah (swt), the Almighty and Glorious, will assign a devil to him until he strikes his head against the wall."

There is a result for everything. The result of being kind is to speed up turning on the light.”

Blowing at three things is detestable: blowing at a talisman, blowing at food, and blowing at the place of prostration.”

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), ‘What was the area of the Masjid of the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause?’ He (the Imam) replied, ‘It was three thousand six hundred square yards.’”
