أسعد أبو أمامة: (العرني) بن سهل بن حنيف: من أصحاب رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله، رجال الشيخ (58). وذكره في الكنى من أصحاب علي عليه السلام (44) قائلا: " أبو أمامة، له صحبة، وكان معاوية وضع عليه الحرس، لئلا يهرب إلى علي عليه السلام ".
