“Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, liked shoulder meat greatly.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) has said, ‘If you cannot weep then make a weeping-like face.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that ’Amir al-Mu’minin would wear the ring on his right hand.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah, Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘It is of Sunnah to clip one’s fingernails.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘One cannot divorce his wife in his illness but his marriage is permissible.’”

“Whenever I performed Salah (prayer) led by abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), I found him (the Imam) say Qunut (supplication after recitation in second Rak‘at) in every Salah (prayer); those which are said aloud as well as those said silently.”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that ’Amir al-Mu’minin (a.s.), disliked one’s making the animals drink wine.’”

“’Amir al-Mu’minin (a.s.), once asked his son, al-Hassan (a.s.), ‘My son, what is generosity?’ He replied, ‘It is providing assistance in both easy and difficult conditions.’”

“The initiator of the offering of the greeting of peace is closer to Allah and His Messenger.”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that neighbors of the people of a deceased should prepare food for them (people of the deceased) for three days.”

“I heard abu Ja’far (a.s.) saying, ‘If al-Hamd, (the first Chapter of the Holy Quran) would not cure one, nothing else could cure one.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that divorce of a child does not have any valid effect.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Divorce of a drunken man does not have any valid effect.’”

“Abu Ja’far (a.s.) has said, ‘The best worship is to be chaste in the matters of stomach and genital organs.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘The fountains gushed from under the al-Ka‘bah.’”

2. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from al-Hajjal and al-Hassan ibn Ali from Ali ibn Asbat, from certain individuals of our people that he did not disembark for rest where the Holy Prophet had rested. Al-Rida (a.s.), commanded him to go back and do what he was supposed to do.”

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the divorce of a drunken man. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not permissible and it is not an honorable thing.’”

‘Uyayna bin Huss’ain entered into the place of the Prophet, Allah’s blessings be upon him and his Family, and with him was Aisha, and he entered without permission. The Prophet, Allah’s blessings be upon him and his Family, then said: And where is your request for permission? He said: I have not sought permission (to enter) upon (the house of) a man from Mudhar since I reached maturity. Then he said: Who is this Humaira [1] next to you? Then the Messenger of Allah, Allah’s blessings be upon him and his Family, said: This is Aisha, the Mother of the Believers. ‘Uyayna said: Shall I not step down for you from the best of creation, and you step down for me from her? The Messenger of Allah, Allah’s blessings be upon him and his Family, said: This is a fool that is obeyed, and he is, indeed, as you see, the master of his people.

I said, ‘May I be your ransom! Yes.’ The Imam (a.s.) said, ‘Then spend the night with us and set out in the morning with the help of the Honorable the Exalted God.’ I said, ‘May I be your ransom! Fine. I will do that.’ The Imam (a.s.) ordered his maid: ‘Spread my futon out for him. Put my sheet on it and place my pillow for him.’ I asked myself, ‘Who has achieved this much honor and rank that I have? God has granted me a rank near Him which He has not granted to anyone else. Ar-Ridha’ (a.s.) sent me his horse to ride, spread his own futon out for me to sleep on with his own sheet and pillow. None of my friends have ever been in such a position.’ I was thinking and Ar-Ridha’ (a.s.) was next to me. Then suddenly Ar-Ridha’ (a.s.) said, ‘O Ahmad! When Zayd ibn Sohan was ill, Ali - the Commander of the Faithful (a.s.) went to visit him. Zayd considered this to be a source of pride for him and was haughty with the people because of that. Do not do what Zayd did then, and be humble for the sake of God.’ Then the Imam (a.s.) put his hands on the ground and got up.”

“I heard Ahmad ibn abu Khalid, stating that he (The Imam (a.s.) had appointed him as witness to bear testimony to this documented will in the following words. “Ahmad ibn abu Khalid, the slave of abu Ja‘far, bears testimony that abu Ja‘far, Muhammad ibn Ali ibn Musa ibn Ja‘far ibn Muhammad ibn Ali ibn al-Husayn ibn Ali ibn abu Talib (a.s.) is asked to bear testimony. Testimony to the fact that he has appointed his son, Ali, the executor of his directive wills about himself and bout his sisters. He has placed the affairs of Musa in his charge when he would attain maturity. He has appointed ‘Abdallah ibn al-Musawir as the over seer to his legacy, his estate, property, expenditures and slaves etc., until Ali ibn Muhammad will reach the age of maturity. At such time ‘Abdallah ibn al-Musawir will transfer the overseeing position to him (Ali ibn Muhammad (a.s.)). He thereafter will take charge of his own affairs and sister. The management of the affairs of Musa will also be left to him. Musa will take charge of his own affairs after the two (overseers) according to the conditions set forth by the father of the two of them in the matters his charitable charities. This has been documented on Sunday 3rd dhu al-Hijja, in the year two hundred twenty. Ahmad ibn abu Khalid has transcribed his own testimony with his own hand writing. He has asked al-Hassan ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Abdallah ibn al-Hassan ibn ali ibn al-Husayn ibn Ali ibn abu Talib (a.s.). He is also known as al-Jawani has a testimony just like the testimony of Ahmad ibn abu Khalid at the beginning of this document. He als has written his testimony with his own hand and the witness to bear testimony in the document is Nasr, the servant and he has written his bearing testimony with his own hand.”
