علي بن يحيى: يكنى أبا الحسين، يروي عنه كتاب ثواب إنا أنزلناه، من أصحاب الجواد عليه السلام، رجال الشيخ (16). وعده البرقي أيضا في أصحاب الجواد عليه السلام. أقول: الظاهر أن هذا مغاير لمن تقدمه، فإن البرقي ذكره في أصحاب الجواد عليه السلام في قبال جماعة من أصحابه الذين أدركوا الرضا عليه السلام، والله العالم.
