أحمد بن يوسف

“Ali ibn al-Husayn, ‘Alayhim al-Salam, has said, ‘Allah does not grant holiness to a nation in which barbat sounds and the (false) eulogies that cause pain.’”

Muḥammad b. Yazīd al-Nakhaʿī narrated to us, he said: Sayf b. ʿAmīra narrated to us from Abān.

“Al-Qa’im does not appear until a caller from the Heaven will call out that everyone in the east and in the west will hear the call even the girls in their veils.”

“I heard Abu Abdullah as-Sadiq (as) saying: No, by Allah! Allah does not leave this matter aside unless He specifies ones, who will undertake it until the Day of Resurrection.”

‘You must not marry al-Zanj and al-Khazar; they have such wombs that indicate disloyalty.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘Of Indians, al-Sind and al-Qand - meaning al-Qandahar - a hybrid does not exist among them.’

“…therefore hasten to (do) good works; wherever you are, Allah will bring you all together:” “It has been revealed about al-Qa’im (as) and his companions. They will meet together without an appointment.”

“The caller will call out that al-Mahdi is from Muhammad’s progeny. He will call out the name of al-Mahdi and the name of his father. Then the Satan will call out that the truth is with so-and-so (Uthman) and his followers.”

Ali bin al-Husayn as-Sajjad (as) had said: “When al-Qa’im appears, Allah will cure every sick believer and restore to him his power.”

“Every one of you is to prepare himself for the appearance of al-Qa’im even with one arrow because if Allah knows that one intends that sincerely, He may prolong his life that he may live until the appearance of al-Qa’im and then he becomes one of his assistants and supporters.”

The Prophet, peace be upon him and his progeny, said: "When you see a person not engaging in a purposeless chatter, then that is the sign of his excellent (understanding of) Islam."

I heard Abu Abdillah, Ja’far ibn Muhammad (as) say: "How often a moment’s constraint and patience can bring about long lasting pleasure and satisfaction, and how often a moment’s indulgence can result in a prolonged grief and sorrow."

“There will be a very few Arabs with al-Qa’im (as).” It is said to him: “But those, who talk about this matter among the Arabs, are so much many.” He said: “People must be tried, sifted and purified. Much many people will be thrown away from the sieve.”

“When al-Qa’im appears, there will be nothing between him and between the Arabs and Quraysh except the sword. There will be nothing save killing. So why do they urge on his appearance? By Allah, he wears rough cloths and eats coarse barley. It will be just the sword and killing under the shadow of the sword.”

“Surely Allah commands you to make over trusts to their owners and that when you judge between people you judge with justice; surely Allah admonishes you with what is excellent.” “It is the will that each one of us delivers to the other.”

Do not associate or become friends with the following four people: stupid fellows; jealous people; cowards; and liars. Stupid fellows wish to help you get some benefits, but they will bring you a loss. Jealous people will take from you, but will not give anything in return. Cowards will run away when you need help. They will even run away from their own parents when they need help. Liars may often tell the truth, but no one would believe them.”

I was in the mosque with my father when the Prophet (MGB) was delivering a sermon. I heard the Prophet (MGB) say, ‘There will be twelve Leaders after me.’ Then the Prophet (MGB) lowered his voice such that I could not understand what he (MGB) said. I asked my father, ‘What did he (MGB) say when he lowered his voice?’ My father said, ‘The Prophet (MGB) said, ‘They are all from the Quraysh.’”

“While people are standing on Arafat, a rider on a quick she-camel will come to inform them of the death of a caliph, after whose death the deliverance of Muhammad’s progeny and the deliverance of all the people will come.” He also said: “When you see a sign in the sky; a great fire burning for some nights in the east, then deliverance will come. It will occur a little before the appearance of al-Qa’im (as).”

“There must be a sedition before the appearance of al-Qa’im, during which people become hungry, terrified by killing and they lose their properties and lives. This has been clarified by the Book of Allah. Allah has said, “And We will most certainly try you with somewhat of fear and hunger and loss of property and lives and fruits; and give good news to the patient.”

“Allah has promised to those of you who believe and do good that He will most certainly make them rulers in the earth as He made rulers those before them, and that He will most certainly establish for them their religion which He has chosen for them, and that He will most certainly, after their fear, give them security in exchange; they shall serve Me, not associating aught with Me.” “It has been revealed about al-Qa’im and his companions.”

Muhammad Ibn Hasan Katib Marwazi said: I sent to Hajiz Washsha two hundred dinars and wrote to the Gharim (a.s) about it and then I received a receipt. The Imam had mentioned that I owed one thousand dinars and had sent only two hundred dinars to him. He had said: “If you desire to act through someone, you must refer to Abu Husain Asadi at Ray.” Then after two or three days, the news of Hajiz’s death came. Ahmad Ibn Yusuf says, I informed Muhammad Ibn Hasan of Hajiz’s death. He became much grievous, so I said to him: “Grieve not, for you have two signs in the holy letter to you, one is the Imam’s statement that the money owed is one thousand dinars and the second is his command to you to refer to Abu Husain Asadi, as he knew the imminent death of Hajiz.”
