The ascription of this book to Ibn al-Ghaḍāʾirī is disputed; al-Khoei held it unproven («الكتاب المنسوب إلى ابن الغضائري… لم يثبت»).

قال لي أبو محمد ابن طلحة بن علي بن عبد الله بن علاله: قال لنا أبو بكر الجعابي: كان محمد بن نصير من أفاضل أهل البصرة علما. وكان ضعيفا. بدء النصيرية، وإليه ينسبون.

Abū Muḥammad b. Ṭalḥa b. ʿAlī b. ʿAbdullāh b. ʿAlālah said to me: Abū Bakr al-Jaʿābī said to us: Muḥammad b. Nuṣayr was from the virtuous folks of Basra in knowledge. And he was weak. He started the Nusayriyya, and to him they are attributed.
