31-8 According to the same documentation, God’s Prophet (S) said, “Children are like basil. And Al-Hassan and Al-Husayn are my basil.”

31-56 According to the same documentation, God’s Prophet (S) said, “Al-Hassan and Al-Husayn are the Masters of Youth in Paradise, and their father is even better than they are.”

By Allāh, even if Ḥasan and Ḥusayn had done what you did there would have been no leniency with me for them and they could not have won their way with me till I had recovered from them the right and destroyed the wrong produced by their unjust action.

Hold back this young man on my behalf, lest he causes my ruin, because I am loath to send these two (meaning al-Ḥasan and al-Ḥusayn) towards death, lest the descending line of the Prophet - may Allāh bless him and his descendants - is cut away by their death.

“Allah does not accept to appoint to it (the Imamate) two brothers after Hasan and Husain (a.s).”

he heard abu ‘Abdallah (a.s.) say the following. “ Allah has disdained to place Imamat in two brothers after al-Hassan and al-Husayn (a.s.).”

“The time between the birth of al-Hasan and the conception for al-Husayn was like one menstuaral cycle and the time between the birth of the two was six months and ten days.”

31-188 According to the same documentation, God’s Prophet (S) said, “O Ali! You have been granted three things which no one has ever been granted before.” Ali (a.s.) said, “May my father and mother be your ransom! What have I been granted?” The Prophet (S) said, “You have been granted a father-in-law like me, a wife like (the Blessed Lady) Fatima, and sons like Al-Hassan and Al-Husayn.”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that a man once came to al-Hassan and al-Husayn, ‘Alayhim al-Salam, when the two of them were sitting on al-Safa’ (the small hill in Makkah). He asked them for charity and they said, ‘Charity can only be paid to one who suffers from a troubling debt, a disgracing loss or severe poverty. Do you have any one of such conditions?’ He replied, ‘Yes, I do.’ They then gave him something. He had asked ‘Abd Allah ibn ‘Umar and ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn abu Bakr for charity, and they had given him something without asking him any questions. He then went back to them and asked, ‘Why did you not ask me any questions as al-Hassan and al-Husayn, ‘Alayhim al-Salam, have done?’ He informed them about what al-Hassan and al-Husayn had asked. They replied, ‘They (al-Hassan and al-Husayn) are being fed with a great deal of knowledge.’”

Amīr al-mu’minin said about Marwān ibn al-Ḥakam at Baṣrah. When Marwān was taken prisoner on the day of Jamal, he asked Ḥasan and Ḥusayn (a.s.) to intercede on his behalf before Amīr al-mu’minin. So they spoke to Amīr al-mu’minin about him and he released him. Then they said, “O Amīr al-mu’minin he desires to swear you allegiance” Whereupon Amīr al-mu’minin said :

“The Imamate will never come together in two brothers after Hasan and Husain (a.s). It will continue in his (Husain’s) progeny one generation after another.”

“Abu al-Hassan (a.s.), has said, ‘I do not see people follow al-Hassan and al-Husayn, ‘Alayhim al-Salam, in Salat (prayer) except Salat (prayer) after al-‘Asr (sunset) and after the morning (sunrise) in obligatory Tawaf.’”

“Imamat (Leadership with Divine Authority) does not take place in two brothers after al-Hassan and al-Husayn (a.s.). It only continues in the descendents of the Imam (a.s.) generation after the generation.”

foflowing: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘The delight of my eyes is placed in Salat (prayer), my enjoyment of the world in women and my comfort and relief with al-Hassan and al-Husayn (a.s.).”’

Imam Ali (a.s) asked Imam Hassan (a.s) and Imam Hussein (a.s) the difference between faith and certitude. They remained silent. Then he asked Imam Hassan (a.s) to answer him. Imam Hassan (a.s) said: “There is only one hand-breadth distance between the two.” Imam Ali (a.s) asked: “How come?” He replied: “Since faith is related to what we hear and acknowledge with our heart, and certitude is related to what we see and use to argue in favor of what we cannot see.

“Light means the Imam that you would follow.”

After Hasan and Husain, Imamate will never come to two brothers because after Ali Ibn Husain, Imamate is only in his progeny, generation after generation.

31-121 According to the same documentation, Ali ibn Abi Talib (a.s.) said, “One night Al-Hassan (a.s.) and Al-Husayn (a.s.) were playing near the Prophet (S) and most of the night passed in this way. Then he told them to go to their mother. All of a sudden there was a light and the darkness of the night vanished along their way until they reached (the Blessed Lady) Fatima (a.s.) - Al-Hassan and Al-Husayn’s mother. The Prophet (S) said, “Praise be to God who honored the members of our Household.”

Al-Hassan (MGB) and Al-Hussein (MGB) had two amulets which were filled with fuzz from the wings of Gabriel (MGB).”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Hassan ibn Ali (a.s.), died in al-Abwa’ (name of a place) in the state of Ihram. With him there were al-Hassan, al- Husayn, ‘Abd Allah ibn Ja‘far, ‘Abd Allah and ‘Ubayd Allah sons of al-‘Abbas. They provided him shroud and covered his face and head, but did not use Hunut (rubbing camphor over the seven parts of the body which one places on the ground for Sajdah (prostration)) saying, ‘This is how it is written in the book of Ali (a.s.).’”
