"There was a basket near my house containing two eggs of the Sacred Sanctuary’s pigeons. My servant, unaware of the eggs, overturned the basket, breaking them. I went out and met Abdullah ibn al-Hasan, and I mentioned this to him. He said: 'Give in charity two handfuls of flour.' Later, I met Abu Abdullah (as) and informed him. Imam (as) said: 'He must pay the price of two birds, feeding the pigeons of the Sacred Sanctuary with it.' I then met Abdullah ibn al-Hasan and informed him of this. He said: 'He (as) has spoken the truth; follow it, for He (as) has taken this from his forefathers (as).'"

“I was in the presence of Abi Abdillah (a.s.), thus a person said, "O Allah, send your blessings upon Muhammad and the household (i.e. Ahl al-Bayt) of Muhammad." So Abu Abdullah (a.s.) said to him: "O man, you have excluded us. Don’t you know that the household are five [which are] the people of the cloak?” He asked, “How should I say?” He (a.s.) replied, “Say: O Allah, send your blessings upon Muhammad and the family (i.e. Al) of Muhammad, and so, we and our Shias are included in it.”

he heard him say: A man from the Ansar died, and the Prophet, Allah’s blessings be upon him and his Family, observed him [1], and he said: Greenify him, for how little are the greenified on the Day of Resurrection. He said: I said to Abu Abdillah, peace be upon him: And what thing is to greenify? He said: That a moisturized [2] palm leaf by the extension of an upper harm is taken and placed here – and he pointed with his hand to near his collarbone – being wrapped with his clothes.

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Say Salam (greeting of peace) to whoever of your people you meet and say to them, “So and so son of so and so (the Imam) says Salam (greeting of peace).” Then say to them, “You must maintain piety before Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious. You must observe such issues through which you can receive whatever of the reward is with Allah. By Allah, I do not command you to do such things that we do not command our own souls to do. You must work hard and strive. After performing your morning Salat (prayer) you must go out early in the morning to work for your sustenance and seek lawful sustenance. Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, will grant you sustenance and assists you to find such sustenance.”’

“Once Shihab ibn ‘ Abd Rabbihi asked me to ask permission for him to visit abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), and I informed him (the Imam) about it. He (the Imam) said, ’He can visit if he likes.’ I took him to the house of abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.). It was during the night and Shihab had a mask on him. I found a furnishing for him to sit on and he sat down. Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), said to him, ‘O Shihab, remove your mask; it causes doubt during the night and disgrace in the day.’”

“Abu ‘Abdallah (a.s.) said to me on the way home on Friday night, “Read from the Holy Quran. It is a Friday night. I then read, “The appointed time for all of them will be the Day of Judgment (44:40) (when wrong will be distinguished from right). On this day friends will be of no benefit to one another, nor will they receive any help (44:41) except for those to whom God grants mercy. . .” (44:42) The Imam (a.s.) said, “We, by Allah, are those whom He has granted mercy. We, by Allah, are the ones whom Allah has made exceptional and we will support them (our followers) sufficiently.”

“Once abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), commenced a journey just a few days before the end of the month of al-Sha‘ban and he (the Imam) was fasting. The month of Ramadan then started while he (the Imam) was still on his journey but he stopped fasting. He (the Imam) was asked, ‘How is it that you have been fasting in the month of al-Sha‘ban and stopped fasting in the month of Ramadan?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘In the case of the month of al-Sha‘ban it is up to me to fast or not to fast: however, in the case of the month of Ramadan it is the commandment of Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, to stop fasting (on a journey).’”

I do not foresee any (newborn baby) whose mouth is opened with water from the Euphrates River to be anything other than from among our Shia. The above Ḥadīth has also been narrated to me through the following chain: My father, from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Ibrāhīm ibn Mahziyār, from his brother ‘Ali ibn Mahziyār, from Muḥammad ibn Abī Ḥamzah, from someone whose name he mentioned, from Abī ‘Abdillāh (a.s.).

I said: And what is the clear horizon? He said: Flat ground between the hands of the Throne, in which there are rivers with consistent shares of wealth by the amount of the stars.

I asked, ‘What is the Clear Horizon?’ The Imam (MGB) replied, ‘It is a plain in front of the Throne where there are many streams in which is poured as many cups as there are stars.’”

“Abu Sufyan was riding on a camel. Muawiyah was leading the camel, and Yazid was driving the camel. Then God’s Prophet (MGB) cursed the rider, the leader and the driver.”

48 – Aḥmad b. Abī ʿAbdillāh, al-Barqī. He died in the year 274.

Hadith.4683 - Abu Abdullah (as) said: "The sucking of milk by a child is equivalent to breastfeeding."

Imam Sadiq (a.s) said: “Do not be fooled by their crying since piety is rooted in one's soul.”

31 – ʿAlī b. ʿAbdullāh b. ʿImrān, al-Makhzūmī, the one who has the laqab of “al-Maymūn”. He was a ghālī. Weak.

From the servant of Allāh, ‘Alī, the Commander of the faithful, to the people of Kūfah who are foremost among the supporters and chiefs of the Arabs.

Imam Sadiq (a.s) said: “Whoever gets to know God will stutter.”

Imam al-Baqir (AS) said, ‘Allah can be worshipped with no act better than restraint of the stomach and the private parts.

Imam Sadiq (a.s) said: “Do not deceive others since you will then be left without any friends.”

Imam Sadiq (a.s) said: “A believer's nature is to be patient in the face of hardships.”
