Hadith.3388 - Narrated by Hammad ibn Isa, from someone who informed him, from Hariz, from Abu Ja'far Imam Muhammad ibn Ali Al-Baqir (as)
"The first person upon whom casting lots (Qur'ah) was performed was Maryam (Mary), the daughter of Imran. This is based on the saying of Allah (swt), the Exalted:
'And you were not with them when they cast their pens as to which of them should be responsible for Maryam.' (Surah Aal-E-Imran 3:44).
The lots were six in number. Then they cast lots for Yunus (as) (Jonah (as)) when he sailed with a group of people. When the ship was caught in turbulence, they cast lots, and the lot fell upon Yunus three times."
Imam (as) continued: "Yunus (as) proceeded to the edge of the ship, and there was the whale with its mouth wide open. So he threw himself in.
Similarly, when Abdul Muttalib (as) had nine sons, he vowed that if Allah (swt) granted him a tenth son, he would sacrifice him. When Abdullah (as) was born, he could not bear to sacrifice him, as the Prophet (peace be upon him and his family) was in his lineage.
So Abdul Muttalib (as) brought ten camels and cast lots between them and Abdullah (as). The lot fell on Abdullah (as). He added ten more camels and repeated the process. The lot continued to fall on Abdullah (as), and he kept increasing the camels by ten each time.
Finally, when the number of camels reached one hundred, the lot fell on the camels.
Abdul Muttalib (as) then said: 'I have not yet done justice to my Lord (azj),' and repeated the lot three more times.
When it fell on the camels each time, he said: 'Now I know my Lord (azj) is satisfied.'
So he sacrificed the camels."

9. Muhammad ibn Yahya and Ahmad ibn Idris have narrated from Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Jabbar from al-Hassan ibn al-Husayn from Ahmad ibn al-Hassan al-Maythami from Fayd ibn al-Mukhtar, in a lengthy hadith on the affair of Abu al-Hassan (a.s.). In it Abu ‘Abdallah (a.s.) has said to the narrator: “He is your Master of who you asked. Stand up for him and acknowledge his rights.” I then stood up and kissed his head and hand and prayed to Allah, the Most Holy, the Most High, for him.” Abu ‘Abdallah (a.s.) then said, “
Keep in mind that permission is not given to us to speak about him to anyone before you.” The narrator has said that he then said (to the Imam (a.s.)), “‘May Allah take my soul in service for your cause, can I inform anyone about him?” The Imam (a.s.) said, “Yes, you may inform your family and sons.” With me there were my family, sons and friends and of my friends there was Yunus ibn al-Dhabyan. When I informed them they all thanked Allah, the Most Holy, the Most High. Yunus said, “No, by Allah, I must hear that from him.“ He was in a hurry. He went and I followed him. When I reached the door I heard Abu ‘Abdallah (a.s.) say to him,- he had reached him before I-, “O Yunus, the matter is as Fayd told you.” The narrator has said that he (Yunus) then said, “I have heard it and I have obeyed.” Abu ‘Abdallah (a.s.) then said, “Take him with you, O Fayd.”

7-117 Muhammad ibn al-Hassan ibn Ahmad ibn al-Walid - may God be pleased with him - narrated that Muhammad ibn al-Hassan al-Saffar quoted Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Khalid, on the authority of Abu Ali al-Vaseti, on the authority of Abdullah ibn Ismat, on the authority of Yahya ibn Abdullah, on the authority of Amr ibn Abil Miqdam, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Aba Abdullah as-Sadiq (MGB), “Once when God’s Prophet (MGB) entered his house, he (MGB) heard that Ayesha was yelling at Fatimah (MGB). She was saying
‘O Khadijah’s daughter! I swear by God that you believe that your mother was better than us. What was in her that made her nobler than us?’ Fatimah who was listening to her cried when she saw the Prophet (MGB). The Prophet (MGB) looked at her and asked, ‘O daughter of Muhammad! Why are you crying?’ She replied, ‘Ayesha mentioned my mother’s name with disrespect and I cried.’ The Prophet of God (MGB) became angry, turned to Ayesha and said, ‘O Homeyra! Be silent. The Blessed the Sublime God has honored kind women who give birth to children. Khadijah - may God may have mercy upon her - has brought two sons from me. The first one is called Tahir, Abdullah or Mutah’har. The second one is called Qasim. Khadijah has delivered four daughters for me who are Fatimah (MGB), Ruqayah, Umm Kulthum and Zaynab. However, you are one whom God has made barren and have not given birth to any child for me.”

Abu Abdullah Ja’far ibn Muhammad, peace be upon him, said: When the Prophet, peace be upon him and his progeny, arrived at the middle of Qudaid (near Makkah), he said to ‘Ali ibn Abi Talib, peace be upon him: "O ‘Ali, I prayed to Allah for (a firm bond of) love between me and you, and He granted, and I prayed to Him to establish brotherhood between you and me, and He granted, and I prayed unto him that He make you my successor, and He granted." A man stood up from the people and remarked: "By Allah, a (small) measure of dates from an old, coarse sack is better than what Muhammad prayed for from his Lord. Why did he not ask for angel to come and help him against his enemy, or a treasure to help him keep away his paucity?" Then Allah revealed this verse: ’Perhaps you feel like giving away some of what has been revealed to you, and your chest is straitened for it, because they say: Why has a treasure not been sent down to him or an angel come down with him? Surely, you are only a warner, and Allah is the Trustee over all things.’ (11:12)

I went to Abī ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) and asked, “May I sacrifice myself for you! Should I go to (the Ziyārah of) the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.)?” Imam (a.s.) replied: Yes, O Abā Sa’īd! Go to (the Ziyārah of) the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.), the most blessed of the blessed ones, the most purified of the purified ones, and the most pious of the pious ones. O Abā Sa’īd! When you go to his Ziyārah, recite the TASBǏḤ of the Commander of the Believers (a.s.) next to his (Ḥusain’s) head one thousand times and recite the Tasbīḥ of Fāťimah Al-Zahrā (s.a.) next to his feet one thousand times. Then establish two Rak’ah of prayers there. Recite Yāsīn in the first Rak’ah and Al-Raḥmān in the second Rak’ah. Verily if you do this, Allāh will register its (special) rewards for you In-Shā`allāh. I said, “May I sacrifice myself for you! Teach me the Tasbīḥ of ‘Ali and Fāťimah (a.s.).” Imam (a.s.) replied: Yes, O Abā Sa’īd! The Tasbīḥ of ‘Ali (a.s.) is as follows: Sanctified is He whose Treasury is inexhaustible. Sanctified is He whose signs do not perish. Sanctified is He whom that which is with Him will not vanish. Sanctified is He who does not share His ruling with anyone. Sanctified is He whose Glory does not fade away. Sanctified is He whose time does not end. Sanctified is He besides whom there is no god. And the Tasbīḥ of Fāťimah (s.a.) is as follows: Sanctified is the Owner of Majesty, the Exalted, the Great. Sanctified is the Owner of Glory, the High, the Exalted. Sanctified is the Owner of the Kingdom, the Superior, the Everlasting. Sanctified is the Owner of Grace and Beauty. Sanctified is He who is covered with Light and Dignity. Sanctified is He who sees the markings of an ant on flat stones and the perching of the birds (which fly) in the sky.

6. Muhammad ibn Abu ‘Abdallah has narrated from Muhammad ibn Isma‘il from al-Husayn ibn al-Hassan from Bakr ibn Salih from al-Hassan ibn Sa‘id from ‘Abdullah ibn al-Mughirah from Muhammad ibn Ziyad who has said the following.
“I heard Yunus ibn Zabyan saying, ‘I went to meet abu ‘Abdallah (a.s.), and said, “Hisham ibn al-Hakam has uttered monstrous words. I will briefly mention a few words. He thinks Allah has a body because things are of two types; (a) body and (b) the acts. It is not possible for the Creator Himself to be just actions or functions. But it is possible to consider Him as the agent.” Abu ‘Abdallah (a.s.) then said, ‘That is not proper from him. Does he not know that the body has limits and the form has limits and an end? Whatever is subject to limitations is also subject to increase and reduction and such things are created.’ I then asked, “What then I should say?” He replied, ‘Allah is without body and form. He is the giver of body to all bodies and the giver of form to all forms. He can not be divided or limited. He does not grow or decrease. If it were as they say, then there would have been no difference between the Creator and the created, the inventor and the invented. But He is the Creator and the inventor. He has made the distinction and differentiation between that to which He has given body, form and that which He has invented. This is because nothing is similar to Him nor He resembles anything.’”

2. He said: Abu Nasr Muhammad ibn al-Husayn al-Muqri, reported to me from Abu Abdillah al-Husayn ibn Muhammad al-Asadi, who reported from Abu Abdillah Ja’far ibn Abdillah al-Alawi, who reported from Yahya ibn Hashim al-Ghassani, who reported from Yahya ibn Tha’labah al-Ansari, from Asim ibn Abu al-Najood, from Zarr ibn Hubaish from Abdullah ibn Masood, who said
Once, when we were with the Prophet, peace be upon him and his progeny, on one of his journeys, a Bedouin shouted at us: "O Muhammad!" The Prophet said: "What do you want?" He said: "What about a person who has an affinity and love for a community, but does not follow their acts?" The Prophet, peace be upon him and his progeny, said: "Man is with him who he loves." Then he said: "O Muhammad, present to me al-Islam." He (i.e. the Prophet) said: "Testify that there is no god but Allah, and that I am His messenger. And establish the daily prayers, give alms (zakat), fast during the month of Ramadhan and come to the House of Allah for Hajj." He said: "O, Muhammad, do you take any reward for this?" He (i.e. the Prophet) said: "None, except the love for the nearest kins." He asked: "Do you mean my nearest kins or yours?" He (i.e. the Prophet) said: "My kins." He said: "Extend your hand so that I may give you my allegiance. There is no good in a person who does not love you and your kinsfolk."
