“He (the Imam) (a.s.), has said, ‘Applying viola oil to one’s eyebrows dispels headaches.’”

“About animals that feed on feces he (the Imam) (a.s.), has said, ‘If the feed of an animal is mixed with other feed besides feces, then it is not unlawful to use it for food.’”

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about a man who goes hunting for one, two or three days. Is he required to perform his Salah (prayer) as reduced? He (the Imam) said, ‘No, he cannot perform as reduced. However if one escorts one’s brother in belief, then it is permissible to do so. Hunting is a way of falsehood and Salah (prayer) is not performed as reduced.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘When you escort your brother in religion you can perform your Salah (prayer) as reduced.’” “A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from al-Barqiy from certain persons of his people from Ali ibn Asbat a similar Hadith.

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that it is not advisable to sit in front of al-Ka‘bah in an Ihtibah positions (holding one’s knees against one’s belly by forming a ring around them with one’s arms or a piece of cloth).”

“The laughing of a believing person is smiling.”

“’Amir al-Mu’minin (a.s.), has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘You should teach your children swimming and sharp shooting.’”

“It is not permissible for a man to perform al-’Ihtiba’ across the Ka’bah.”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘The worldly help in one’s quest for success in the hereafter is the best help.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘It is not unlawful if one has twenty shirts. 5 ”

“Abu al-Hassan, the first (a.s.), whenever distressed would not perform optional Salah (prayer).”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) has said, ‘Whoever of you wants his prayer answered must make his earning clean.’”

A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from al-Hajjal and al-Hassan ibn Ali from Ali ibn Asbat, from certain individuals of our people that he did not disembark for rest where the Holy Prophet had rested. Al-Rida (a.s.), commanded him to go back and do what he was supposed to do.”

“About the case of a man who gives in charity what is owned in partnership, abu Ja’far (a.s.), has said, ‘It is permissible.’”

“Amir al-Mu’minin, Ali ibn abu Talib (a.s.) would say in his sermons, ‘Do not suspect; you will doubt and do not doubt; you will become unbelievers.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that you must leave alone a borrower who has difficulty repaying a loan, just as Allah does (extend the due time for payment of loan if the borrower has difficulty repaying. . . ” (see (2:280)).

“’Amir al-Mu’minin (a.s.), has said, ‘You must not allow the dust to accumulate behind the door; it becomes a resort for Satans.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘You must treat bread with reverence.’ It was asked, ‘What is treating it with reverence?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘When it is made available one must not wait for others.’”

Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, prohibited bargaining between dawn and sunrise.”

“Once abu al-Hassan (a.s.), came out and I felt the fragrance of incense from him (the Imam).”’

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Hail is not edible because Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, has said, “. . . with it (hail) He causes whomever He wants to suffer.” (13:13)’”
