2. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Hammad ibn ‘Isa or Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from ibn ‘Udhaynah from Zurarah who has said the following
“I once asked abu Ja‘far (a.s.), about the case of a man who divorces his wife in writing or sets free his slave; he then changes his mind and deletes it. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not a divorce or setting free of a slave until he pronounces it through his mouth.’”
عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ عِيسَى أَوِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ أُذَيْنَةَ عَنْ زُرَارَةَ قَالَ
قُلْتُ لِأَبِي جَعْفَرٍ ( عليه السلام ) رَجُلٌ كَتَبَ بِطَلَاقِ امْرَأَتِهِ أَوْ بِعِتْقِ غُلَامِهِ ثُمَّ بَدَا لَهُ فَمَحَاهُ قَالَ لَيْسَ ذَلِكَ بِطَلَاقٍ وَ لَا عَتَاقٍ حَتَّى يَتَكَلَّمَ بِهِ .

2. Ali ibn Muhammad ibn Bandar has narrated from Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abd Allah from Muhammad ibn Ali from ‘Isa ibn ‘Abd Allah al-‘Alawiy from his father from his grandfather who has said the following
“Ali (a.s.), has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘Meat is the master food in this world and in the next life. 5 ”

6. My father narrated to me from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad ibn ‘Isā, from Abī Yaḥyā Al-Wāsiťi, from Abil Ḥasan Al-Ḥadhā, who said
Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) said: There is a graveyard close to you which is called Burāthā. One hundred and twenty thousand martyrs like the martyrs of Badr will be resurrected from this graveyard.
6 حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ره عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ أَبِي يَحْيَى الْوَاسِطِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ الْحَذَّاءِ قَالَ

8. (My brother) ‘Ali ibn Muḥammad ibn Qūlawayh narrated to me from Aḥmad ibn Idrīs, from Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad ibn ‘Isā, from Ibn Faďďāl, from Ibn Abī ‘Umayr, from Ḥusain ibn ‘Uthmān, from someone whose name he mentioned, who said
Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) said: Every day some drops (of water) fall from Paradise into the Euphrates (River).
8 وَ حَدَّثَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ قُولَوَيْهِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ إِدْرِيسَ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنِ ابْنِ فَضَّالٍ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ عَمَّنْ ذَكَرَهُ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) قَالَ
تَقْطُرُ فِي الْفُرَاتِ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ قَطَرَاتٌ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ

2. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Khalid from ‘Uthman ibn ‘Isa from Sama‘ah who has said the following
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘It is preferable to place two fresh twigs of palm tree with the deceased in the grave, raise the surface of the grave above ground by four inches, sprinkle water on it and then leave it alone.’”
2ـ عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ سَمَاعَةَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ الْسَّلام) قَالَ
يُسْتَحَبُّ أَنْ يُدْخَلَ مَعَهُ فِي قَبْرِهِ جَرِيدَةٌ رَطْبَةٌ وَيُرْفَعَ قَبْرُهُ مِنَ الأرْضِ قَدْرَ أَرْبَعِ أَصَابِعَ مَضْمُومَةٍ وَيُنْضَحَ عَلَيْهِ الْمَاءُ وَيُخَلَّى عَنْهُ.

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that howling for a deceased is not proper, and it should not happen but people do not know. Exercising patience is better.”

لاَ يَصْلُحُ الصِّيَاحُ عَلَى الْمَيِّتِ وَلاَ يَنْبَغِي وَلَكِنَّ النَّاسَ لاَ يَعْرِفُونَهُ وَالصَّبْرُ خَيْرٌ.

H 483 - It is narrated from Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Ja’far Himyari, from his father from Muhammad bin Isa from Muhammad bin Ataa from Salam bin Abi Umrah that he said
Imam Muhammad Baqir (a.s) said: “The man of this matter will have a house called Baitul Hamd (house of praise). It will have a lamp, which was lighted since the day of his birth and it will continue to burn until the day he will rise with the sword.”

17. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Ali ibn al-Hakam from Sayf ibn ‘Amirah who has said the following
“Once abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), came out of the bathhouse, dressed, wore his turban and said to me, ‘When you come out of bathhouse wear a turban.’ He (the narrator) has said, ‘I thereafter would always wear a turban after coming out of the bathhouse in winter and summer.’”

“Abu Ja’far (a.s.), has said, ‘When someone recited Adhan, the Messenger of Allah on hearing him would say everything the person reciting Adhan would say.”

10. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from certain individuals of his people in a marfu’ manner from Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) who has said the following
“It was mentioned before Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) that the weaver (knitting) is condemned. The Imam said, ‘It is the one who weaves and fabricates lies against Allah and the Messenger of Allah.”’

ذُكِرَ الْحَائِكُ لأبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) أَنَّهُ مَلْعُونٌ فَقَالَ إِنَّمَا ذَاكَ الَّذِي يَحُوكُ الْكَذِبَ عَلَى الله وَعَلَى رَسُولِهِ (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وآلِه).

9. Ali ibn Muhammad has narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from one who narrated to him that Abu ‘Abdillah (al-Sadiq) (as) was asked
"May I be your ransom, there is a man who believes in this issue (i.e. the imamah of Ahlul-bayt), but locks himself at home and does not acquaint himself with his community.” So he said, “How will he achieve a good understanding of his religion [without talking to the knowledgable people of his community]?".
9ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَمَّنْ رَوَاهُ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) قَالَ
قَالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ جُعِلْتُ فِدَاكَ رَجُلٌ عَرَفَ هَذَا الامْرَ لَزِمَ بَيْتَهُ وَلَمْ يَتَعَرَّفْ إِلَى أَحَدٍ مِنْ إِخْوَانِهِ قَالَ فَقَالَ كَيْفَ يَتَفَقَّهُ هَذَا فِي دِينِهِ.

3. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn Faddal from ibn Bukayr from ‘Isa al-Farra’ who has said the following
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘If one says Talbiyah for al-‘Umrah in the month of Rajab and comes out of the state of Ihram in another month, his al-‘Umrah is considered as al-‘Umrah in the month of Rajab. If one says Talbiyah for al-‘Umrah in another month and comes out of the state of Ihram in the month of Rajab, his al-‘Umrah is al-‘Umrah in the month of Rajab.’”
3ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ فَضَّالٍ عَنِ ابْنِ بُكَيْرٍ عَنْ عِيسَى الْفَرَّاءِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَم) قَالَ
إِذَا أَهَلَّ بِالْعُمْرَةِ فِي رَجَبٍ وَأَحَلَّ فِي غَيْرِهِ كَانَتْ عُمْرَتُهُ لِرَجَبٍ وَإِذَا أَهَلَّ فِي غَيْرِ رَجَبٍ وَطَافَ فِي رَجَبٍ فَعُمْرَتُهُ لِرَجَبٍ.

1. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from al-Hassan ibn Ali from ‘Abd al-Samad ibn Bashir from ‘ Atiyyah brother of al-Mighra’ who has said the following
“I once said to abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), that companions of al-Mughirah prohibit eating of meat which is dried up in the sun and fire has not touched it. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not unlawful to eat it.’”

2. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from ibn Mahbub from Hisham ibn Salim from ‘Ammar ibn Marwan who has narrated the following
“I or a certain persons of our people asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the case of a man who presents testimony for his wife. He (the Imam) said, ‘If it is for a good cause it is permissible to testify for one’s wife.’”
2- مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنِ ابْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ عَنْ عَمَّارِ بْنِ مَرْوَانَ قَالَ
سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللهِ (عَلَيْهِ السَّلام) أَوْ قَالَ سَأَلَهُ بَعْضُ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يَشْهَدُ لامْرَأَتِهِ قَالَ إِذَا كَانَ خَيِّراً جَازَتْ شَهَادَتُهُ لامْرَأَتِهِ.

16. Muhammad ibn ‘Isa has narrated from Yasin al-Darir from Hariz from al-Fudayl who has said the following
“One year my family and I went for al-Hajj but cattle became very expensive. I went and bought two sheep, which were expensive. When I examined them closely, I regretted greatly because they were very weak. I brought them and informed him (the Imam) ‘Alayhi al-Salam, about it and he (the Imam) said, ‘If there is any fat on their kidneys, then it is sufficient.’”
16ـ رَوَاهُ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِيسَى عَنْ يَاسِينَ الضَّرِيرِ عَنْ حَرِيزٍ عَنِ الْفُضَيْلِ قَالَ
حَجَجْتُ بِأَهْلِي سَنَةً فَعَزَّتِ الأَضَاحِيُّ فَانْطَلَقْتُ فَاشْتَرَيْتُ شَاتَيْنِ بِغَلاءٍ فَلَمَّا أَلْقَيْتُ إِهَابَهُمَا نَدِمْتُ نَدَامَةً شَدِيدَةً لِمَا رَأَيْتُ بِهِمَا مِنَ الْهُزَالِ فَأَتَيْتُهُ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ إِنْ كَانَ عَلَى كُلْيَتَيْهِمَا شَيْ‏ءٌ مِنَ الشَّحْمِ أَجْزَأَتَا.

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that ’Amir al-Mu’minin has said, ‘Applying perfume to one’s mustache is of the discipline of the Prophets ‘Alayhim al-Salam, and honoring the scribes (the angels on one’s shoulders).”’

“The man (a.s.), wrote to me the following: ’During sajdah when expressing thanks to Allah say, “Shukran” one hundred times - or if you wanted - say “’Afwan ‘Afwan.’””

كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ الرَّجُلُ (صلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِه) فِي سَجْدَةِ الشُّكْرِ مِائَةَ مَرَّةٍ شُكْراً شُكْراً وَإِنْ شِئْتَ عَفْواً عَفْواً.
