“Dealing with people in a graceful manner is one third of (the power) reason.”

“Zakat is not due on loans people owe to orphans’ as well as on the orphans immoveable assets; however, it is obligatory to pay Zakat for the orphans’ grains.’”

“He (the Imam) (a.s.), has said, ‘When you are called to present your testimony you must accept to testify.’”

“Abu al-Hassan, al-Rida’ (a.s.), has said, ‘Eating broad beans grows the bone marrow of the legs and produces fresh blood.’”

“Abu al-Hassan, al-Rida’ (a.s.), has said, ‘Nothing more useful enters the stomach of one suffering from Tuberculosis than bread of rice.’”

I heard him saying: there is nothing except there is about it [a ruling in the] Book or Sunna.

“Abu al-Hassan, al-Rida’ (a.s.), has said, ‘Do not cut bread with knife, instead break it with the hands and do the opposite of al-Ajam (non- Arabs).”’

'I heard him say, “There is nothing except that is has a Book or Sunnah (prophetic tradition)”'.

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Eating fish melts the body.’”

Everything in this book that is narrated from Al-Husayn ibn Al-Mukhtar has been transmitted by me from my father - may Allah (swt) be pleased with him - from Sa'd ibn Abdullah, Al-Himyari, Muhammad ibn Yahya Al-'Attar, and Ahmad ibn Idris, all from Muhammad ibn Al-Husayn ibn Abi Al-Khattab, from Hammad ibn 'Isa, from Al-Husayn ibn Al-Mukhtar Al-Qalansi. I have also narrated it from Muhammad ibn Al-Husayn - may Allah (swt) be pleased with him - from Al-Husayn ibn Al-Hasan ibn Aban, from Al-Husayn ibn Sa'id, from Hammad ibn 'Isa, from Al-Husayn ibn Al-Mukhtar Al-Qalansi.

I asked Abu `Abd Allah al-Sadiq (AS): “Does Allah know everything from sempiternity?”He (AS) replied, “What was He to know when there was nothing to be known?” He says, I asked, “Does Allah hear from sempiternity?” He (AS) answered, “Who was He to hear when there was nothing to be heard?” He says, I asked, “Does Allah see from sempiternity?” He (AS) responded, “Who was He to see when there was nothing to be seen?” Then he (AS) said: “Allah has always been AllKnowing, All-Hearing, All-Seeing, sempiternally, and the Possessor of the Knowledge of Hearing and Seeing.”

"God - Blessed and Exalted - distinguished His Messenger (ṣ) with the most noble mannerisms. Test yourselves, therefore, and if you find them within yourselves, then praise God and desire from Him that He increases in them." Then he mentioned that they were ten: "Certainty, contentment, patience, gratitude, satisfaction, good manners, generosity, shame for your household, bravery, and manliness."

Surely, Allah distinguished His Messenger (s) with noble character (makarim al-akhlaq). So, test yourselves – if you have [some of] it, then praise Allah and wish for Him to increase it in you. They are ten [characteristics]: (1) certainty, (2) contentment, (3) patience, (4) gratitude, (5) forbearance, (6) beautiful character, (7) generosity, (8) protectiveness, (9) courage, and (10) chivalry.

“O disciples, I have a need that I request you to fulfill." They said, “Your request is granted, Oh Spirit of God.” Jesus then got up and washed their feet, the disciples then said, “It was upon us to serve you, Oh Spirit of God.” So he said, “Of the people who must serve others are the scholars, I acted in this humble way so that you will act among your people in a humble way as I acted before you.” Jesus then said, “With humbleness wisdom is formed, but not with arrogance. Just like how plants only grow on plains grounds, but not on mountains.”

I requested Abul Hasan Musa ibn Ja’far, peace be upon him, saying: "May I be your ransom, pray to Allah that He may bless me with a son, and may not deprive me from Haj as long as I live." He says: "He prayed for me and Allah gave me this son. And whenever the days of Haj arrived while I had no means for the expenses, Allah provided from unexpected quarters."

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that if it becomes difficult for one of you, you should inform your brother (in belief) while you are unable to help yourself.”

“Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), disliked what a falcon hunted unless one arrived in time to slaughter it properly.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Salah (prayer) has four thousand limits (rules).”’ “In another Hadith it is said that in Salah (prayer) there are four thousand doors (chapters).”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘You must maintain piety before Allah about two weak ones’- he thereby meant the orphans and women and that ‘they (women) must be treated with great privacy.’”

“I once asked him (the Imam) (a.s.), about the case of a woman who dies, if her husband can give her Ghusl (bath). He (the Imam) said, ‘Yes, but her relatives may hinder due to intolerance.’”
