“I once heard Aba Ja‘far, and Aba ‘Abdillah AS, saying, ‘No other fruit on earth was as much desirable to the Messenger of Allah SAW, as pomegranate and by Allah, he [the Messenger of Allah] preferred to not share it with anyone.’”

I asked Abu Abdillah, peace be upon him, about the meaning of the narration: «The one who is pleased from Allah, Exalted is He, with little sustenance, Allah, Exalted is He, will be pleased with him for little deeds.» He said: That he obeys Him in some and disobeys Him in some.

I asked Abu al-Hasan (as) about the words of Allah (swt), the Exalted: "And [mention] David and Solomon, when they judged concerning the field" (Surah Al-Anbiya 21:78). Imam (as) said: "The judgment of David (as) was to grant the ownership of the sheep, but what Allah (swt), the Exalted, made Solomon (as) understand was that he ruled in favor of the owner of the field by granting him the milk and wool of the sheep for the entire year."

about the words of Allah. “When the trumpet is sounded,” (74:8) From us there will be a triumphant Imam. behind the cover. When will want to grant him permission to (rise with Divine Authority and power He will place a dot in his heart. He will then reappear in public sight and will rise (with divine power) by the command Allah, the Most Holy, the Most High.”

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the case of a man who dies and leaves behind a woman who is pregnant and gives birth after his death to a boy. Then the boy dies after falling on the ground and she who nursed witnesses it all. She says that he was alive and cried upon falling on the ground, then died. He (the Imam) said, ’The Imam can allow her testimony about one-fourth of the legacy of the boy.”’

“I once asked abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), about the case of a man who asks me to testify for a case and I recognize my handwriting and seal but do not remember anything of the rest, little or more. He (the Imam) said, ‘If the party is trustworthy and there is another trustworthy man, you can testify.’”

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) once said to me, ‘If you love one of your brothers (in belief), tell him about it; Ibrahim said, “O Lord, show me how do You bring the dead back to life?” The Lord asked, “Do you not believe it?” He said, “Yes, I firmly believe, but it is to comfort my heart . . (2:260)

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah, Alayhi al-Salam, about the case of a man who has made a will to spend in the way of Allah. He (the Imam) said to me to spend it for al-Haj j . I said that he has said to spend it in the way of Allah. He (the Imam) said, ‘Spend for al-Hajj because I do not see anything in His way better than al-Hajj.”’

“About the case of a man who sends a hunting dog with the mention of the name of Allah, the two Imam, ‘Alayhim al-Salam, have stated this Hadith. ‘If the dog catches the prey and you arrive to slaughter it properly, then you must do so; but if you arrive when it has already killed the prey and has eaten thereof you can also eat what is left, however, you must not apply to other hunting animals what you apply to hunting dogs.’”

he was asked about a man who experiences a nosebleed while in prayer and has already prayed part of it. Imam (as) replied: "If the blood is on his right, left, or behind him, he should wash it without turning and continue with his prayer. If he cannot find water without turning, then he should repeat the prayer." He also said: "Vomiting is similar to that."

Abū ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) said to Kirām ibn ‘Amr: When you want to go to the Ziyārah of the grave of Ḥusain (a.s.), go to his Ziyārah while you are saddened, grief-stricken, disheveled, and covered with dust, for verily Ḥusain (a.s.) was killed while he was saddened, grief-stricken, disheveled, covered with dust, thirsty, and hungry.

`Ali (as) said: My religion is the religion of the Prophet (s), and my judgment is the judgment of the Prophet. So, whoever insults my religion and my judgment has surely insulted the Messenger of Allah (s).

“Al-Qa’im disappears twice; one is a short disappearance and the other is long. In the first disappearance some of his close Shia knows his place and in the other one no one knows his place except the guardians of his religion.”

‘I said to Al-Ridha (asws) that, ‘The people are reporting that the Rasool Allah (saww), whenever he (saww) used to take to a road, would return via another road. So this is what he (saww) used to do’. He (asws) said: ‘Yes, as I (asws) do so quite frequently, so do it’. Then he (asws) said to me: ‘But rather, it is better for your sustenance’.

The affairs of my Nation will proceed until there come twelve Caliphs all of whom are from the Quraysh.”

“It is about the case of a man who enters a town where he finds a certain amount of meat, but does not know if it is clean (properly slaughtered) or from dead animals. He (the Imam) said, ‘He can throw it on fire. If it shrinks it is clean (properly slaughtered) but if expands it is from dead animals.”’

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about performing Ttikaf in a certain Masjid of Baghdad. He (the Imam) said, ’Without a Masjid in which Salat (prayer) in congregation is held behind a just Imam, Ttikaf is not valid. It is not harmful to do Ttikaf in Masjid of al-Kufah, in al- Basrah, in al-Madinah or Makkah.’”

“From among us there will be a hidden imam. When Allah wants him to rise, He will prick him in the heart and he will appear to execute the order of Allah.”

he heard abu ‘Abdallah (a.s.) say the following. “ ‘Umar ibn ‘Abd al-‘Aziz wrote ibn Hazm. He then have narrated a hadith similar to the above one except that he has said, “Ibn Hazm sent to Zayd ibn al-Hassan who was older than my father.” A number of our people has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from al-Washsha’ a similar hadith.

Al-Sadiq Ja`far b. Muhammad (as) said: The affliction of the people is great: if we call to them, they do not take heed to us; and if we abandon them, they will not be guided by other than us.
